¡Tienes mucha razon!
Thank you for the video, it is very informative. Would u mind making another video explaining how to determine the level of the step sequence? I would be grateful if u use yuzu’s program, for example, rondo capriccioso maybe?
I have spent a half hour for this 11 minutes video... Pause and read the description and try to recognize those steps and turns... But still failed 😩🤣 it's really hard! And it's hard to believe all these difficult turns and steps can only earn 4-5 point in technical score...Lol...
OMG me too!!! Especially the counter and rocker!!!! It's so unfair! Looks so difficult!! I salute these skaters even more man!!! I can never watch their skates the same way again after this video. My eyes are now only on their foot, thinking, is this rocker? Bracket? Counter? Damn!! Can't believe these difficult turns are given such low points!! But again, nothing is easy in figure skating.... Spins, jumps.. Those were just dreams!! This sport is so hard and so under-rated!!
Glad you asked. Yes the judging criteria is different. For Singles, step sequence is judged based on the level of difficulties and qualities -- the requirements and types are described in this video. For pair skating, Step Sequence is judged differently. The judges pay more attention on whether the partners are in synch during the step sequence than the qualities of edges / turns itself (Of course the qualities are also important). As for ice dance, it's completely different judging criteria and requirement. For example, Twizzle in the single/pair skating is one of the types of the step sequence and no special point given - the entire series of step sequence is judged together. But in ice dance, it's a compulsory element and they will be given distinctive points for that twizzle. Basically ice dance is quite different from skating as there's no jumps etc. So the judging really focus on their footwork and they have an entire book of requirements and elements to follow for the "steps and turns". If you are interested to learn more about it, you can read the requirement for single and pair skating here: www.isu.org/inside-isu/isu-communications/communications-archives/21211-2254-s-p-levels-of-difficulty-and-guidelines-for-marking-goe-2019-20/file and for ice dance here: www.isu.org/figure-skating/rules/id-handbooks-faq/24717-handbook-for-ice-dance-officials-1/file Hope it helps 💓
The content of these videos is really informative, but I think maybe pulling back on the music and audio layering would make them more watchable. When there are many transitions between the film on screen as well writing, music, voice-over and random sound effects it can be quite overwhelming. I really like the videos on this channel, and would love to see them continue to improve! I hope you find this constructive and not rude!
Very good question! No it doesn't count anymore :( That's why even the best skaters sometimes got their Step Sequence downgraded to level 3 (If the technical panel detected a hop in the turn..)
aestethics (though they contribute to Transitions and other PCS, together with all the other skating content and move in the field like the split jumps, lunges, hydroblades etc. It's just that they have no "value" on their own, but they are usually highlighs in choreo sequences, which do have BV. In a way, to audience those moves in the field can be more impressive than a jump, as performance highlighs, because they usually "create a moment" with music)
Glad you mention it :) But according to ISU LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY SINGLE SKATING, season 2019/20, Types of difficult turns and steps: twizzles, brackets, loops, counters, rockers, choctaws. Three-turns is not included (Maybe they think it's too basic..). Here is the guide we use: www.isu.org/inside-isu/isu-communications/communications-archives/21211-2254-s-p-levels-of-difficulty-and-guidelines-for-marking-goe-2019-20/file
@skater girl Yes three turns is quite hard to master for beginner I agree.. Basically one foot turn is really difficult for anyone starting to skate. It would take really deep edges to be able to turn on one foot. It also took me forever to learn three turns. Can't remember how long though.. :P So I really admire these difficult footworks done by the competitive skaters 😅
Indeed.. I wonder if anyone notice at 4:09 where Nathan kinda "Cheated" at the Loop to make the entire round (He actually had 1 extra kick to help him finish the rotation).. It's really hard to turn it and exit perfectly. But again, nothing in that top 6 list of steps and turns are easy..
@@FigureSkatingFan He did not. He put his foot down after the loop was completed as part of the three turn. Not sure if that was a mistake but would not affect GOE as three turns are not difficult turns.

@@chunghuey113 hahaha 🤣 No!!! I still wants to watch they face hahaha 😂
@@nikkichong7068 Hahaha of course!! :-D
Are the step sequences for singles diff for dance and pairs?
Thank you so much for the feedbacks! Yes yes we will definitely learn from it and watch out on the music layering when we edit the new videos :)
Genial!
Do the turns still count if they hop it (blade leaves the ice)?
Very good question! No it doesn't count anymore :( That's why even the best skaters sometimes got their Step Sequence downgraded to level 3 (If the technical panel detected a hop in the turn..)
:O This reminds me Yuri On Ice: Yuri skating Eros
Hahahaha.. YOI is fun to watch :D But just for me personally, Yuzu skates 1000 times better than Yuri 😆😀
@@FigureSkatingFan Kinda true but i like both. Just Yuzu is soo cute!! 😍😍😍
Hmm i really wonder how many language you know O_o XD
Its YG hahaha Yuzu is my skating GOD and Google translate is my language GOD :)
@@FigureSkatingFan 😍😍😍😍😍😍
What about the ina bauer and cantilever? Do they have points or they too are just for aesthetics?
aestethics (though they contribute to Transitions and other PCS, together with all the other skating content and move in the field like the split jumps, lunges, hydroblades etc. It's just that they have no "value" on their own, but they are usually highlighs in choreo sequences, which do have BV. In a way, to audience those moves in the field can be more impressive than a jump, as performance highlighs, because they usually "create a moment" with music)
Me: Whut?! Can't see and memorize the differences. T.T
Video: Just know they are hard AF!
😂😂😂😂
🤪😜🤗
whats the song in 0:20??
What about three-turns?
Glad you mention it :) But according to ISU LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY SINGLE SKATING, season 2019/20, Types of difficult turns and steps: twizzles, brackets, loops, counters, rockers, choctaws. Three-turns is not included (Maybe they think it's too basic..). Here is the guide we use: www.isu.org/inside-isu/isu-communications/communications-archives/21211-2254-s-p-levels-of-difficulty-and-guidelines-for-marking-goe-2019-20/file
Too basic? I was stuck on basic 4 for three years because of three turns lol!! 😂😂
Loops are WAY harder then they look
that's saying something because I feel like everyone makes them look hard, too.
I can do all of them and trust me Idk what people mean when they say the names other than twizzles and loop ofc

Alexi Yagudin will never be topped.
OMG always love Yagudin's Step Sequence on that "Winter" and "Ironman" routine! So dramatic! His moves there also inspired us to make this video..
혹시 한국인이신가요....?
難しいと云うけど見ているこちらがやっとやってるクソメドと鍵山だけには難しそうとか思いますけどね
Sorry, there's way too much going on at once in this video. Can't watch, it's doing my head in!
