Thank you for this video I was clueless on how to install this on my system. This video is simple and to the point and can't wait to install this now(was going to take it to a computer shop to install it).
Thanks for this. The instruction manual with the cooler isn't even useful as toilet paper. They try to show you which position on the mount is for AM4, and which isn't, by showing both saying its AM4
I love your explanation on how to install it, your explanation was simple and easy to follow along. Unlike others. I just ordered one today and I'll come back to rewatch this so ik I didn't mess up 😁
@@NorthernVikingEveryday much appreciated friend, like I said I tried watching other videos on how to do it and they'd skip out on explaining a lot of the stuff and basically speed build it where it was impossible to understand what's happening
Great video. I would have totally screwed up without watching this as it's my first time installing a cpu fan. I hated every second doing it lol but your video def helped. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! I struggled with how I was supposed to assemble the backplate and this really helped. I am impressed by the ingenuity of the product designers figuring out a way to make this somehow compatible with every cpu socket in existence LOL
Thanks excellent video! I just got this cooler and noticed it has 2 extra fan clips and 4 extra rubber dots which is nice because it will allow you to add a fan to the other side of the heatsink! What a great idea!
Glad this video exists, i just had to replace this particular cooler but i could not figure out how to get those standoffs off until you pulled out that funky little tool. Had to rummage around in my old pc parts to find it but now I'm running smoothly!
Useful vid, and pretty chill vibe, which helps with the stress of putting this thing in. But I REALLY wish you had mentioned how firmly you need to push down on the spring-loaded screws to get them to reach the standoffs. I thought I had forgotten a piece and wasted time and thermal paste taking the cooler off and trying to screw in some extra standoffs that came with it(that don't fit at all) before I went back and just pushed harder, expecting something to break.
He IS the Instruction Manual. I have the RGB Black Edition and it Still does a great job today lol , i just installed this on my brothers ryzen 7 3700x b450 pc just now too, but great job 😊
i watched a video for my exact case but it only showed the stock cooler, luckily i found your video to help me even though i gto they rgb verion they are literally the exact same.
For some odd reason my Hyper 212 box didn't come with that backplate at 1:36. I have a backplate that's labeled "LGA1700/1200/115X" but the box says AM4 compatible.
Just use the backplate your am4 motherboard came with pre installed. Then just use the two little screw bars/wings labeled e to screw into the cooler and then into the backplate of your am4 motherboard. Hope this helps and sorry if my wording is bad
Did you (or anyone) come across single internally threaded 'bolts' for the mobo mount instead of the double internal thread? What I'm looking at currently, is that the backplate provided by coolermaster won't work with the riser bolts provided and it looks like I'll have to put the original backplate back on 😮
Nice, i needed a refresher on my cooler. I currently have it on a i5-7500 and will soon put it on a R7 5800X . Hopefully with a new fan so it can keep cooling my system for another 4 years😅❤
Made a list of pc parts for a buddy and since he lives to far away i wouldnt be able to help him build it so your video was perfect for the situation and you make everything really easy to follow!
Just received my cooler today, can't wait to install it! Thanks for the video, it is well explained and I feel more confident to install mine. Also the link for the thermal paste X method is really appreciated, I will go for this method as well 👍
This series is a lifesaver, I had bought this exact X570 WiFi motherboard and a pure rock 2 cooler but when installing it those 2 capacitors next to the cpu take up just enough space where I can’t install the bracket. Going to try out the cooler you highlighted in this video, thanks man!
What is the max TDP for Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition? i'm gonna be installing new mobo lga1700 Intel Core i7 12th Gen Alder Lake Processor and wanna make sure that this heatsink can handle the cpu.
For some reason while trying to put together the fan to the radiator, the fan clips aren’t clipping into the channel the fan just slides down. Any idea why this could be?
So I don't need the clip part for AM4 install then? It looked like I needed the included clip to hook on to the original plastic brackets that came with the motherboard, but this video looks like you remove the brackets and the back plate and use only the ones with the kit (without the included clip)
I can't tighten down the standoffs all the way, leaving about 1/4" gap between the motherboard and the back plate when everything is screwed as tight as it will go.
bro i’m so confused the screws won’t screw in, when i’m trying to put the sync on the cpu, it’s like i have to put pressure on it and screw but it still don’t work
I have a question. I moved my old alien ware aurora ryzen r10 to a new case. I was trying to install the backplate as instruct for am4 socket. However the plate does not fix on the motherboard from this fan. I was wondering if I skip a a step.
whats the tool called thats used to tighten the backplates with a philips head top? cant find it and need to take apart from mobo as mobo has arrived not working
I bought a used cooler without the AM4 bracket. Is there a place I can order a replacement bracket? Cooler Master website doesn't has one, and their support does not help.
I don't know what you mean by saying make sure the cooler master logo is in the right direction? Is there a front and a back of the cooler master, or does it not make a difference which side I mount the fan on, and which side is facing towards the front or back of the computer?
What I mean is, you don't want the cooler master writing to be upside down. You want it to be in the correct direction so when you look at your PC you can see what it says.
Very useful video thank you! Unfortunately I got one from Best Buy and it didn’t include a backing plate or anything and my new motherboard didn’t come with one either so the search begins!!
I have the same CPU Cooler, but the side fan is making weird grinding sounds when it switches to higher RPM rates. Can I just replace the fan? I can't find these anywhere on the internet, I don't want to go through the hustle of removing my entire motherboard and installing a new CPU cooler.

The temperatures have been totally fine when I run stress tests they are right within the recommended temperatures and we'll below the max.
