Thanks for the video, I just got these this year and was waiting from you to upload a review now I’m very confident in my bindings coming into this year!
I don't know how aggressive you (whoever is reading this) board but that screw that holds together the toe strap can and will come out if you're riding really rough terrain. I was riding in the woods with a buddy and at the of the run I noticed that the toe strap was separated. So now the toe strap is useless now due to the fact that the screw is missing.
Had these on my Rossignol Sushi and absolutely hated them. Way too much flex. I ended up putting them on my Superpig and love them on that board. The stiffness of the board and flex of the bindings really complement each other.
@@will21 The Superpig has a flex rating of 7 out of 10. Not sure about the Sushi. I'm going to put a set of Union Force bindings on the Sushi this week and try that.
Love how you have these on your evil twin because I bought an evil twin and bought these bindings for it. However now I’m debating on returning these because the comments aren’t too convincing
Its awesome how much bang for buck you get with these lower priced bindings. Burton is the same when looking at the clutches. Though im curious how you go with the toe straps and boot wear. That has been a sore point that has stopped me grabbing some unions in the past.
These aren’t different, toe straps fell off pretty quickly and I ended up losing one a week after tightening, recommend using lock tight to reinforce if you do get these
Never had a problem with my v1 flight pros besides base cushion screw but straps and all that are 100% Gucci coming from a rough rider mine are on there 5 season and chillin. Will say boot wear on the v1s is definitely more profound but seen the near straps and they don’t seem to destroy ur boots
@@mjlr5734 Beginner bindings are usually softer or can be softer and makes turning easier and are more forgiving if you make mistakes. But it’s also a preference. There are advanced riders that prefer soft bindings so they can tweak more for tricks and grabs. I personally consider these bindings entry level or beginner, but then you can move on to ones that are stiffer and more precise. Hopefully that makes sense.
I’d go for something a little more planted and responsive. Leaning towards the Atlas, but could go for the STR if you’re on a budget. Of course the new force would be solid too
Do you know of any low profile boots and bindings (not too thick sole and bottom) that sit fairly close to the board? I used to have Ride bindings aluminum and they had no thick cushion just aluminum base and 1mm pads they felt great. Low center of Gravity.
Hey tj looking at getting the ride fuse as well. Are you on the 2022s or 21? Are you riding them this season with the new liner strap and the new upper boa strap that pulls shin to back of boot as well as the ankle? They look the business
The salesman who sold me these advised that I don't apply them to a stiff board. He said that doing so, I risk breaking them due to how light they are. I was going to put them on the Ride Machete2012 but am hesitant. What do you think?
hey TJ, I have a question about Union bindings in general. I have been reading online about the contact pros. Some reviewers were saying the screws in the base plate come loose after 2-3 hours on the hill. Do you think this is true? Is this a problem with all bindings, or are unions more prone to this? My problem with my current bindings (old pair of Salomon the boss LRG) is that they come loose after a few hours. I would not want to invest in a union binding if this will be a recurring problem. Thanks
Try some tread lock. Screws are pretty much all the same, mostly stainless Hardwear and it screws into the board threaded inserts or Burton channel.. so not much to actually do with. The binding it would only touch the baseplate. Biggest issue would be how it screws into the inserts, is there enough thread in, do you need a longer bolt etc. Some blue thread lock may solve the issue. Don't use too much tho just a dab
It leans the high back forward closer to your boot, making your board activate the heel side edge with less effort. A lot of people like this for carving but personally I do not use it
since I own some older Flite bindings, I wonder if there is still the problem with the always loosening Screws in the straps ? i have to redo them once a day, kind of annoying :(
Hi, I’m 42 yo, intermediate rider looking to buy my first board. I just bought the burton StepOn boots & bindings. I mainly ride groomers and trees a little bit. I hit some side jumps but almost never go to the park or ride switch. I’m trying to decide between Jones Frontier, Jones MT, Salomon DH, Yes Y, Yes Typo. What would you recommend?
I had a set of 2018 Flite Pros that I bought second hand just to get into the union line up and they completely turned me off to union as a whole. Granted they are entry level bindings, but they had no support, the highbacks were as soft as baby s**t, the ankle strap bolt would frequently loosen itself, as would other screws, and not because I didn't tighten them properly, this was a recurring thing like every time I rode. Last season I switched to Rome Katanas because of the adjustability and tech they offer. So far its night and day difference from the unions. I would steer clear of these even if you're entry level, step up and pay an extra 50-100 bucks for a proper set of bindings that will last.
honestly i would say that the binding is way too soft for me, while union is my favorite brand along with rome but i wouldn't buy the flite pro, im going for the atlas this year instead.
@@athenux102 yeah, the force, atlas, and strata are the more popular union products but from what I observed in person looking at them all, they seem to use the same hardware (bolts and other fasteners) as the flite pros i was having the random loosening issues with so thats why i chose the Romes
@@thomaslagressa9069 yeah, just got the falcors less than an hour ago, but i had been debating over getting the flcors, atlas, or katana's. Rome and union are my favorite brands, but i cant wait to try out my nidecker merc!
I bought them because i wanted something light and i am still beginner so am not doing any big jumps yet just learning some butters and how to turn at the moment. If I am doing some big jumps in the future i might buy the ultras because i am super happy with union bindings build qualtiy is great :) i think i will ride them forever. Forget step ons i want straps looks cooler and it is cheaper

I bought them last week and i´m very glad with the feelings.
I’m a new rider and these things are great. I kinda wish I found these earlier. Highly recommend
Do they come with the 3d discs and bolts or just the bindings ?
@@acceptjesuschrist4132 you get the whole package. Everything you need to install you get with the bindings
Great review as always TJ thankyou so much for the video :)
Great work TJ thanks for the review
Definitely may get some as a backup binding daily drivers are the malavitas
Nice video, loving the honest review

flite pros have a mini disc or regular size disc
How do you think this would pair with the disaster+. Just getting into park and jibbing.
Definitely a good beginner binding. But they’re easy to grow out of too. Good recommendation though man🤙🏼
Could you please explain what you mean by grow out of them? I don't get what makes a binding for a beginner vs advanced

Cool bindings 👍
TJ, are you guys coming to japan this season, looks like snow is gonna be really good.
Would swapping Burton flip cam screws in here be the move? 🤔
Hey TJ, are reviews coming for those Falcors and that Mind Expander Twin that I see in the background?
Entry level forsure cracked both of my baseplates
Can you do a review on the Jones Mercury 22’?
you should do the contact pros just got them cant wait to try them out next week
Great review as always TJ. What would be your recommendation for a board for icy east coast type conditions?
I wouldn’t trust a west coast dude for east coast advice. Go full camber and keep your steel sharp…
will you be doing a review on the falcors behind you , since they updated them for this season?
What would be a good union binding combo for Jones Flagship?
I’d go for something a little more planted and responsive. Leaning towards the Atlas, but could go for the STR if you’re on a budget. Of course the new force would be solid too
When is that salmon dancehaul review coming out? Really looking forward to it. You have amazing reviews

Need the full review on those ride fuse boots! You’ve had them for like 2 1/2 seasons

@@aaronalvarez2646 yeah I didn’t ride those anymore after that I just got a new pair of the same boots

Is this a recommandation for this riding style as well?

no they use locking washers now so that no longer happens
Some good news there. Apart from that issue, I liked the Flite a lot ☺️
Thanks for the answer :)
Definitely still happens
Now, that's a pity... Does it still happen at yours with these washers ?
@@TommyBoy2799 how old are your unions? I’ve been putting 100+ days on mine and haven’t had this issue since they upgraded the washers

Great review! Thank you for doing these!! Love how these are on the #Bataleon Evil Twin!;)
I’m 6’0 , about to buy a bataleon evil twin should I go 157cm or 159cm I’m 190lbs an I like to switch often an go off smaller jumps an rails
I would go 157. I’m 6’2 175lbs and I ride a 156, which is a good park fit for me. On my free ride boards I go 158-160
Between these or the Falcors, which are better??
Falcors are better, these are just more affordable if you’re on a budget
Also the falcors will be really stiff and the flite pros are some of the softest binding out there

Union Atlas

I believe they are made in Italy
Thanks for the review, its cool! Just maybe you could have made it half the time, as you repeated the dampening issue at least 4-5 times

Don’t buy thoose bendings ! Never ! I ride since 1987, never tried so terrible bendings ! Even if you are beginner. Don’t !!!
