Dwarf Pomegranate into Bonsai

A Trip to a local green house, lead us a new to Us tree, a Dwarf Pomegranate.
This started and 1 trees and ended up as two, increasing our odds for success. Not sure how we are going to over winter this one in our Zone 3 urban setting, but there's plenty of time to figure it out.
Both trees had work started on their roots, with rock to aid the the development of the flair and to prevent downward roots. Followed by pruning to reduce the height and to lessen the demand on the recovering roots. Not sure how it will respond, does anyone have any tips?
