...I wonder at the point of these short burst sprints. Plenty of cars will keep up with the Bug to 100...150...200 even...but that's hardly the point. You know what it feels like when you stand at the side of the road and a car goes past you at 100 kph? Imagine doing 300 kph in your Porsche, Lambo, whatever...and then getting the door's blown off by the Bug going past you at 400. Simply amazing.

People praise the GT-R for managing to get off the line quickly when in fact it's the Bugatti's performance that shines,even where the GT-R is at it's best, off the hole.

It is a marvel, but I wouldn't say no reliability concerns. I haven't seen many supercars or hypercars live to 100k miles. In fact, they cost tons to maintain every thousand miles or so, that's not because they're long lasting. Even a cheapo civic will be more reliable (though people are not red lining the civic the entire time they drive it either)
iSOBigD A GTR will be unaffordable to maintain for most too. Obviously not on the same level as a Veyron, but I think we'll see more than a few being scrapped this decade as people realise they can't repair them. And of course most will never reach 100k miles.
Of course they can do similar miles to any other car, they just cost money. Evo, or someone from the magazine had a Lambo Murcielago which was pushing 300,000 miles before it was stuffed - most of them track miles! Can't remember if it was repaired or not...

Malc180s with the cost of both cars, you could afford about 11 gtr's, so when your first one goes, buy a new one, then another, and so on 9 more times, while the bugatti MIGHT make it half that time. it's the price difference and yet similar performance which makes the gtr awesome, yes the bugatti may be slightly better, but an engine with 16.4l vs and engine with 3.8? thats about 4.3X more engine to work with, and a car that costs 1.2million US dollars?vs a car that cost 100,000 US dollars? and yet they are similar. that is why gtr's are better.

That's the point isn't it? Someone who considers the GTR as an affordable car is not someone who can afford 11 GTRs. The maintenance costs for a GTR are not that of a 100k car - they're that of a car worth twice that number.
That was my only point. What's better? The Bugatti of course, because it's a fucking veyron. Engine size, it means nothing. Why does the Bugatti need 16 cylinders? Because if it's going to cost a million quid, you want something a bit special for your money. Only reason. Bugatti could have put a 1000hp 4 cylinder in it, but no one would have bought one.

Exhaust is opinion based, it's also not 4,000 pounds like the Bugatti. The Bugatti isn't a super computer on wheels. My nephew could drive a gtr with ease. Practicality, insurance cost, fuel efficiency & overall cost doesn't matter to someone who can actually afford it. The Bugatti has 100s of thousands of dollars more luxury than the gtr. Listen guys, you all keep missing the point. The Bugatti Veyron has never claimed to be quick, its claim to fame is a 263mph top speed, after 180 mph it takes off like a rocket. Nearly every supercar on the planet tops out just slightly over 200 Even the GTR peaks around 195mph..
In a straight line, Bugatti every time, but in day to day use i'd like to see the f'cker take a corner like a GTR!!!!
I'm not a car guy but they did a pretty sloppy start, only the final race satisfied me, still disliking the video.
I may not won any races, but I did 3.5 seconds, 0-60 on my 90hp FZ6, and I always do a hard pull at intersections(bike or car), reaching 45mph in few seconds, so, I have enough experience to say, that is a sloppy launch with a good car. I would like to say, the organizers suck, than the drivers.
