sacrificed a feeler gauge, a moment of silence... liked that you mentioned it failed, my hat off to you. i know you fixed it and the recommendation to changed both valves Thumbs Up i Like, OLE!
Awesome thanks for the tip from another west Aussie with the exact same compressor Instead of sacrificing a feeler guage I used a piece from a Stanley tape measure. Cut out with laying over the good piece then drilling the correct hole and filing/ bending an indent so the ‘flap’ won’t move left or right
Interesting, we bought one of these SCA pumps (different colour) as a backup to our very old ARB compressor. Now I know one thing to look for if it ever stuffs up. We have been looking for a toolkit that will do everything we want and doesn't take up a heap of room, so thanks for mentioning what your set is, I will have to shoot down to SCA and have a look. Cheers.
Great fix Kurt but I cant see how you broke it, shame I just bought the same one! I'll pack some spares, thanks for the tip. Just watched 'Exmouth', another one for the bucket list!
G'day Pete! Thanks for watching. It could be a combination of things that led to it failing. The little tabs have gotten fatigued through heat/vibration/shock damage and had snapped off while the compressor was running. Its not a known problem so don't worry too much about it, mine could of been apart of a bad batch for all i know. Also perhaps pumping up 8 tyres once after the other could've led to this, regardless i think ive found its weak point. Even with this problem i still recommend the compressor as its good value for money
@@Sparkysontheloose Cheers Kurt, yes I'm not stressed, I'll use it as intended and if decides to unfriend me so be it. As long as the red wine supply chain remains uninterrupted, all will be good!
No worries mate, well after i fixed mine i never had any trouble since. The ARB ones are nice but ive fixed one of them on the road as well haha, you just don't know
Wish I seen this video 8 hours ago was looking at one today and wondered what they were like I would have to modify it a little bit thow to add a pressure switch as I want to run a tank the damage doesn't really look like you had caused it thow but love your fix
Fair enough Matt, might just be a bad batch even. I haven't seen this problem before so it was interesting to fix. I also was tempted with the pressure switch but it would've been a $70 add on which I'm not in the budget for atm. Why do U need a tank? Cheers
I do shit box rallies and surport for the rallies so a decent compressor with a tank and a blow gun comes in handy for blowing out air filters gives a bit more pressure out and I have the tank sitting here and valve body's so will be throwing in some adjustable air bags in while I'm going just don't have a compressor lol
Kurt! I had my kings compressor fail the same just yesterday and I still remembered this video! Crazily near the same location you were! Thanks!!
Kurt you made that look so simple. I have the same compressor so will remember this fix. Thanks
No worries Dave, I love pulling things apart! Haha. Winch rebuild video coming soon 😋

Haha that's the spirit!
Had the same issue, this helped out so much. Thanks!
Thanks for the tip man, this would of come in handy for us 6 months ago..
Bugger, sorry to hear mate.
Great tip Kurt - thanks mate.
Cheers Benny! 🤙
Legend! I was ready to junk mine. It’s failed though after only a few trips which makes me wonder if it’s worth investing in an ARB compressor.

Nice Kurt 👍😎
Cheers mate! 🤙🤙
What was the name of the tool set?
That looks awesome. Especially that theres a seal around the case.
Its this 181 piece kit toolpro from supercheap, pretty good gear.
Very clever.
Thanks Brad!
Not sure if I missed something. Was there 2 pins there originally? Good video otherwise. Thanks.
That is correct, I replaced one in the video but I would recommend replacing both if you have it open. Gives it extra strength. Cheers
Interesting just a finger valve like my 5hp Quincy compressor. Nice.
That's cool I didn't know they would share similar qualities.
Hey mate what happened to the original one? Did it snap off or just wouldnt return back to seal?
snapped off
Remember to use a ‘spring’ type stainless steel
Apparently 20 % of these units fail under warranty. XTM , Ridge Ryder and Kings are all the same

It was so funny when we were editing it.
