I truly believe that these Benzo should not be taken at all. Not even short term. I think they can still hurt you if you take it short term. Even just taking one.
Man klonopin I quit the .5 clonazepam cold turkey a week ago my doctor never told me about withdrawals.I also dnt think doctors should prescribe these meds only a psychiatrist. It’s absolutely horrific the sad thing is I was on a low dosage for close to a yr I cnt imagine what people who’ve been on higher doses must feel tryna get off these meds. I wish everyone the best on their road to recovery🙏🏽
Size of dose and time on rarely means anything. Some people on them for weeks take years to recover. Some on for years take weals to recover. It depends on the individual and the extent of the damage/injury.
Shrinks don't know any better either

God bless you, Allison! I'm also someone harmed by short-term use of a benzo. I'm close to the end of my taper, but I've had nearly unbearable symptoms the whole way down and starting before the taper. This is iatrogenic harm of the highest degree.

I’ve .90 mg Valium to go after tapering now for 3 yrs. EVERY day has been Hell, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I crossed over from Ativan.
I started with sleeping pill lunesta which led to the other garbage. I’ve been tapering years longer than I was originally on.

I’m 6 wks off Valium. Hanging in there, but it’s a daily struggle. Of course, thinking I’ll be the one that doesn’t heal. But soooo trying to remain positive.

I got through benzo withdrawal, and you can too. Watch the film The Way Back (not the Ben Affleck one). Your time taking benzos was your time in the "gulag." The escape and brutal journey home is your time withdrawing. In many ways, the latter is more difficult, but you will make it home. Hang in there.

@@sangeetalambh6389 yes,I was taking it for nerves now three years later I'm tired all the time and ai have major stomach problems, like I said it's a terrible drug,has alot of side effects.

I was feeling like was being shocked by paddles in the e r. I would clear the bed by like two inches. Drs would just blank stare at me like I was crazy and over exaggerating.
Wait you were only on the med for 2 weeks and it took 19 months to heal?
It's a crime benzos are so freely prescribed.

I also took Ativan for about 2 weeks and took nearly 3 years to heal..it was NONSTOP HELL ON EARTH for the first 2.5 years. (this is with a taper)
@@Q1776Q In retrospect, as you only started healing once off, do you ever wonder if you had gone faster in taper would you have healed sooner? This taper has me completely insane, housebound and alone, akathisia etc

That’s why I can’t go to hospital they gave me temazapine after I got released they refused to help me I’m now on lunesta just as bad as any benzodiazepines 🥲
I was on Ambien for sleep for a while. I got switched to trazodone it is not a benzo. It worked for me

Are you okay? I'm also tapering down Klonopin and insomnia is almost killing me. I see these people here in the comments saying all kind of symptoms from withdrawal and I fill nothing but a severe hell on earth insomnia. I wish I was anxious, I wish I was anything rather than sleep deprived. I don't care about the other symptom, anything to me id bearable, except for lack of sleep. Today I'll start taking a new drug called trazodone to hopefully help me sleep a little bit while I taper off this devil. I hope it works
