I’m not doubting that you already know this but I think you keep losing the Tarpon because you don’t bow when they jump. It could also be the fact that they are tarpon and they are hard to hook as well. Anyways awesome video man! So hyped for this video series!

I’m not a jealous person but is because Florida have about 65778758788854888484858485 species of fish to catch. Shhiiiiet there invasive species is more exciting than 10 species we catch in NY. If lucky we get an occasional cobia etc

There is absolutely no way to be bored in Florida , fishin, sAlt and fresh, spear fishing for tilapia and barramundi , snakeheads , peacock bass in the sewers lol. pythons in the bathroom , gator , яHogzilla, and now suddenly everyone is an iguana hunter . Question: I live in Florida and wondered if authorities are alright if you take a small Tarpon out of water to disengage a hook while in a boat or kayak. Just asking since you did in your video. BTW. Love your vids and I just subscribed. Picking up some pointers. Thanks!

So you want us to buy stuff so you can live the dream, bumming around the keys fishing your heart out rather than being a working stiff, stuxk at home due to COVID. I lived in Bahia Honda park, spearfishing the keys back in the day. Noone paid my way. I think that is rich, Rich.

Hey man word of advice for jacks, if u grab them and put a finger on each on of those black spots and squeeze it acts like a pressure point and they won’t flop
Gotta get you over to our 30A- Destin area -- when you see the tarpon jump push the rod down towards the fish to give it line and it wont pop the hook as easy. Fun times !

How can you resist the temptation to get out and wade fish in the shallows?
Well some of the bottom is like a grassy sandy/muddy bottom and you sink in pretty quick. But on day three I do a bunch of flats fishing for Bones.

Yet to land a tarpon on a kayak. Been pulled around a bunch but they seem to always spit the hook. When they hit the canals where I’m at I’m landing one this year. Epic day keep up the slaying fishing days.

Was just going to suggest collapsable canvas water buckets to slow the YaK down when your Nantucket sleigh riding. Then you put the peddle in reverse. Such efficient rigs. I always had a problem putting the end of the fight pressure on the big fish. Nothing better than exploring the keys on a yak.

How does the breakwater handle in "big" water, white caps and 20+ mph wind? I'm really really wanting to get into kayak fishing but don't want to regret my first purchase.
I have never personally tarpon fished, but everyone says you have to bow to the king (rod tip down when they jump). May help keep more of them hooked! Then again, you do this for a living

Question: are u left or right handed? U cast with ur right and reel with ur left my cousin doesn’t the same thing and he is right handed, I tried to explain to him that if u are right handed ur pole is always in ur strong hand
Love your enthusiasm. Being “old school” I do cringe when you identify exactly where ur fishing because some of those places are my hotspots. 🤫
When the tarpon jump “bow to the king” or put the rod tip to the water. It will help with the slack and it will be harder for them to spit the hook. The line will raise when they are about to jump that is when you (bow down) or put the rod tip to the water.
I’m just curious to ask if there is any particular reason that you don’t use a net to land fish? More hassle than what it’s worth in your Hobie?
