Great vid! I was seriously considering the Eufy camera two months ago but I’m sold now with Aqara.
I just wanna add that the privacy for Aqara could be enhanced by not availing of the Aqara cloud service and only using HomeKit secure video plus the sd card for local storage, there’s also the option of putting the camera on restricted mode with a HomeKit router to prevent any communication with Aqara.

For anyone reading in the future, you can just delete the eufy app after connecting with HomeKit, and set it to the most restrictive settings so u get similar privacy options

George, your work is much appreciated!
I like aqara as it works w apple, but rather forced to go w ring etc as it has the crucial cellular backup and option for pro monitoring when on vacation etc. I am also planning for poe cameras. Any thoughts or what I could do for interior instead?

So glad you’re enjoying our content! For indoor cameras, I’d say Aqara all the way. For a POE system, Alibi is my brand of choice.

I’ve had 4 Aqara gh2s outside for 1.5 years. My house has a ledge where I sit them under the water gutters and they don’t get wet. Been through some rough weather with them too and they haven’t skipped a beat

Lol. Nice. As long as you live somewhere that doesn’t get too cold.

@@GeorgeLangabeer lol I'm in Atlanta, the coldest it usually gets here is around 25° at the lowest

I’m jealous. 25 is usually a heatwave in Nebraska this time of year.

George, which aqara products would you suggest just for indoor use, specifically a loud sounding alarm with motion sensors and a camera. To add some context to this, it would be internal only as I'm thinking of going with your suggested Alibi POE/NVR system for the outside, BUT what Aqara products would you suggest for the inside loud alarm feature?

@@SilverHammerSurveillance Thanks, George, do your Alibi cameras have facial recognition, or are the outside cameras just notifying you of any motion based on the sensitivity you set it at?

The hammer 🔨 with the holiday hit! I am looking for a baby monitor for a newborn? What do you recommend? I use google products with the starling hub. Kinda bummed with my floodlight camera. 50% of the time I check the feed and my floodlight camera takes a while to load in both the google app and home kit. Could it be a WiFi issue? I was debating on getting a google wired camera as a baby monitor but kinda worried because I am having issues with my floodlight.

      @GeorgeLangabeer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Either of these cameras are great for baby monitors, but if you want to stay Google, that $99 indoor wired cam is a good one.
As far as your delay goes, I find that any camera from the Starling Hub has a slight delay, but if you’re having the same problem in The Google Home App, that is usually internet speed. My parents have been testing that Floodlight Camera for me and they love it. No delays at all, but they do have gigabit internet.

@@GeorgeLangabeer thanks for all your help!! Yea It might be a issue with the ISP. I have spectrum now but not gig speeds. I have the option to get the gig speed. I also have an option to get ATT fiber gig speeds. Should I stick with spectrum and upgrade to gig or go with ATT fiber gig

      Of course! Happy to help!
You can’t go wrong either way, but fiber will give you that slight edge.

    Hi George-
    Does Aqara have driveway sensors?
Will Aqara sensors communicate with the hub without Wi-Fi?
Do you have a mesh Wi-Fi system you recommend?
    Thank you mark

The new Nest Cams can (if they are powered) and the Floodlight Cam can.

To me, the most important info is not given in this video. If you have a theft, show us how to extract the video into a file to give to the police. This is better than just talking about specs etc. At the end of the day, that's why i'm investing in a camera in the first place. For evidence of theft and catching the thieves.
