  • Today our family is off for another spring break outdoor adventure! The main Jump Creek trail is a short 1/4 mile hike to a 60 foot waterfall. The falls flow from Sands Basin and the surrounding canyon boasts rock walls that rise hundreds of feet above the canyon floor. When the weather is warm enough, you can also swim at the base of the falls. We also decided to do one of the canyon hikes... there are some steep parts of the trail but the view is breathtaking. There is another hiking trail at the top of the canyon where you can see "The Old Man of the Owyhees" or "The Owyhee Face" - a large rock wall on the canyon that, you guessed it, looks exactly like an old man's face. We will definitely come back for that hike this summer!

What an awesome waterfall! Definitely too cold to swimming yet, lol! Gotta feed the kids adventurous spirit! Glad you found the right trail. Much safer! Wow, it really does look like a face! Awesome adventure!
