Roused from sleep by the knock at my window, I was pleasantly surprised to find my boyfriend standing there. Immediately interested in what you wanted to show me, I quickly shook off my grogginess as I changed. I couldn’t help but chuckle at your smug satisfaction of your correct action of turning _away_ from the window. “You’re quite smug huh?” “Smug?” “Yes.” “I don’t know what you’re talking about.~”
The insinuation though that you wouldn’t have minded watching was flattering.~
You’re growing a mini canopy for us both before we went was such a sweet gesture from my dear, thoughtful, forest monster man. Not to mention whimsical, that was something I would never get tired of.
Making our way hand in hand through the trees, I gasped as the surprise was revealed. “Nooo- is this what I think it is?-“ I asked, turning to you, my eyes full of wonder “yes, yes that is exactly what you think, I grew an oak tree.. into the shape of an actual house.” You replied, the barest hint of a smile playing your lips.
The house, though modest, was absolutely gorgeous. The roof, laden with bright green oak leaves and sporting several upward reaching branches, sloped gently on either side, the walls were visibly very sturdy and set with a few half oval shaped windows with shutters, overhangs and even window boxes!
A half circle shaped porch extended from the front of the house, beautiful vines curling down and around the supports and along the top of the railings. There was enough space on either side of the door to put a pitch swing and at least two other chairs, making the perfect place for sitting outside in the rain or watching the fireflies…
The door, its frame and the half oval windows either side were ornately carved with filigree vines and leaves, as was the rest of the house I realized. The craftsmanship was expertly done as well, drawing the eye gently around the beautiful space.
Even the inside was beautiful! Maybe even more so than the outside! The living room had ample space for a couch, coffee table, some bookshelves, and of course a TV stand.
The kitchen, though only a fire pit for now, had obvious places to put things once they were sorted out, there was even a counter in place of a wall so as to be able to look into the living room whilst preparing food!!
The bedroom, though fluster inducing at the implications was also immensely beautiful.
Your “you’re very cute when you blush I hope you know that..” comment had me blushing worse then and I had to admit, though I knew it already, your reassurance that the bedroom wasn’t a declaration of such intent, and that you’d not make me do something I didn’t want to was very much reassuring. That wasn’t to say I couldn’t see that bridge being crossed, I very much could. I just… wasn’t _quite_ ready yet.
Of course I’d let you keep the bedroom, just the fact that you were willing to wait was so unbelievably comforting and sweet.
“Is this a TV..?” I asked, delighted at your confirmation, and subsequent pointing out of the gaming console. “Can I turn them on?” I asked, excitedly “oh course you may turn them on.” You replied with a grin. “There’s electricity!” I breathed as the TV and console came to life beneath my fingers. I grinned slightly at the mention of the river powered generator, you were so clever!
The explanation of not exploiting your power over the forest to furnish the house made sense, and again, I found it so sweet that you’d bend the laws of nature to grow such flowers just for me.
The idea of getting to watch movies together properly was very attractive, “is it weird that.. even when they are awful that sometimes I still like it?” You asked, grinning in slight incredulity as you spoke “Oh that’s perfectly normal.” I replied laughing, “it’s so bad that it’s good!” I said, you’re repeating the statement drawing another chuckle from me. “That seems to fly in the face of all conventional wisdom…” you said, and I laughed again, nodding slightly and shrugging.
“Well my darling.. my love… I suppose the last thing that needs to be.. asked then… would you.. move in with me?” You asked and I stilled, blushing slightly as I looked up at you, the hopeful tone in your voice, the love in your gaze… how could I say no? “I would love to..” I murmured bashfully in reply, smiling at you.
I couldn’t wait.
Ok first off, I got so unreasonably excited when I read the title- and now I gotta go back and read my comment on the first part!!
The cheeky bugger- being so smug and satisfied at his correct answer XD so cute!!
And the voice patterns!! Like he’s still getting used to human ways!! Such a small but awesome detail!!
I went a little crazy with the describing of the house lol, but it was a really cool mental image!!
I love this character so much!! And the detail of watching movies together from the last part? *chefs kiss* beautimous. Absolutely delicious. 🤌🤌🤌 I loved the audio as always Pingly!!

Oh wow! I really love the detail you put into describing the house. I went with the exact opposite method and left it mostly as glossed over as possible just so that you guys could put your own ideas into what it looked like!
