Fabulous commentator, his voice really suits what he does. Hes really funny and genuinely great to listen to. I really hope he carries on doing animal commentary
Andrew Cotter is my lockdown hero. I could listen to him narrate everyday things, well ... um, everyday. Funny really, I'm not at all sports fan though!
I was on holiday there last year to see my brother. Phillip island, and Australia in general, is amazing. Almost decided to delay the trip to this year instead. Really glad I didn't.
I saw this live back in 2006, it was an amazing day and one I shall never forget. I urge any one who can to go when something close to normality is resumed!
Me too. They left off the best part - at the very beginning when the penguins are trying to build up the courage to come ashore. One would start, then turn back. A bit later, another would start and turn back. Then the first would give it another try. It took more than 10 minutes for a penguin to really reach land, and then the others copied him.
I just went to see the fairy penguins today in Phillip Island. A typical Victorian evening in July . In the 2 hours, it rained then the skies cleared and the most brilliant stars came out and then the stars dimmed and it rained again Through all this the little penguins came waddling out of the sea to greet their friends, chicks and mates still in the burrows. These little penguins are only about 1 foot (30cm tall). They emerged from the sea at dusk, watchful of predators. Then they get on their path and waddle away to their burrows, calling out to their neighbours They are the sweetest thing. The look so vulnerable and clumsy on dry land, with their short little legs and wings, waddling waddling. Yet to have evolved as they have spending so much time in the ocean, they are undoubtedly tough little things. Like featherweight boxing champions !!
And other sports. The delayed bowling that likely cost Mabel a fair chance to defend her title has still not been properly explained by the course stewards.
This is hilarious, and I learned something. I didn't know penguins had anything to do with Australia, I thought they were mainly Arctic animals. Thanks for posting!
Dunno which was cuter... the penguins r Andrew Cotter narratin' it... together they made a really great clip that would put a smile on a dragon.... so cute....!!!
This man is very, very bored. And I am living for it.
What a turn of pace from that one...whatever one it is. 😄😄
Andrew could narrate a paint drying contest and make it intriguing.
True
And I'd listen for hours
Smile and wave boys, smile and wave.
martynblackburn1977 it’s a line from the movie Madagascar. Are you that keen to be offended?
martynblackburn1977 you’ve got to be joking right, probably just a troll
It's a line from Madagascar, a kids movie. Some of us get it, some will be easily offended because they don't.
Skipper: male. Kowalski: male. Rico: male. Private: male. Ergo, ‘boys’.
martynblackburn1977 yep you a troll
Fabulous commentator, his voice really suits what he does. Hes really funny and genuinely great to listen to. I really hope he carries on doing animal commentary
Look for his Olive and Mabel videos!
Love the cheating scandal
Shame that cheating has made its way into sport... 😞
Rosie Ruiz
Skip McIntyre will have a take a very dim view of that.
Please continue to do these types of videos. It's so refreshing to watch this during the lockdown.
Agreed. It's refreshing to watch well after the virus is just a memory.
Look for his Olive and Mabel videos!
Andrew Cotter is my lockdown hero. I could listen to him narrate everyday things, well ... um, everyday. Funny really, I'm not at all sports fan though!
It's entertaining because it gives some relief from the regular boring sports commentaries. Hope he continues post Covid.
Andrew Cotter is my lockdown hero too! Cheers from Brazil!
Me either but I love his voice, it's up there with Sir David Attenborough
No one cares Elizabeth!
Not a sports fan either, until now. Because now I am a great fan of dog and penguin events. ❤

Just brilliant, I love Andrew Cotter. If you do get the chance to go to Philip Island , it is magical to see the little penguins.

I saw this live when I visited Melbourne. A wonderful show that happens every sunset.

“What a shame that cheating has crept into this beautiful sport.” 😂 😂
And other sports. The delayed bowling that likely cost Mabel a fair chance to defend her title has still not been properly explained by the course stewards.
