- For the third time in the span of two weeks, Organised Labour comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has again rejected the Federal Government’s new offer of ₦57,000 minimum wage.
After the Federal Government and the Organised Private Sector proposed a ₦57,000 monthly minimum wage as against the ₦54,000 they proposed on Tuesday when the committee resumed negotiations, the organised labour rejected it shifting their grounds from their initial ₦615,000 to ₦497,000.
Recall that government had initially proposed ₦48,000 last week, which was also rejected by the Organised Labour.
The negotiating committee is yet to agree on a new minimum wage barely 10 days to the May 31 deadline given by the labour unions to government for conclusion of negotiations.

So to you that's the most important thing he said.
You didn't hear him talk about the need to curtail corruption in the public sector by paying proper wages to workers.
The title of this interview alone highlights the ignorance prevalent in our country. For over five years, I have been surviving on a minimum wage of 30,000 naira. Now, as we push for an increase to a livable wage amidst these tough times, some claim that this will lead to a rise in prices and call it economics. This is not economics; it is pure wickedness. How can an increase in the salaries of a small working percentage of the population justify a rise in prices? This argument is nonsensical. You don't need to be an economist to see the flaw in this reasoning; it’s just common sense. Please, stop perpetuating this false narrative.
Mr man they’ll be inflation
Already the president thief Tinibu had caused the inflection. Which inflection are you talking about?
