This is a GREAT ALBUM. ALL OF IT. Been waiting for DECADES for a CD, DVD, Anything !!!! It's on it's 30 th anniversery. Needs a BOX SET treatment I agree. Thanks for this!
This lineup is the sweetspot of my love of Rock/Pop/New Wave what ever you want to call it from the late 70's into the 80's. Rockpile, Blockheads, E. Costello, Clash, Who...Thanks for posting this.
Hi William, yes it was quite the show indeed. I paid 35 pounds that night for a standing room only ticket, which back then was $83!!! I can't really say for sure but Rockpile and Elvis Costello and the Attractions each played a short set. Maybe 4 or 5 songs. To me, Crawling from the Wreckage was one of the songs that really stood out that night. Kick ass!!! Three Time Loser was another song that they played. Also, Robert Plant joined them for two songs, one being Little Sister.
Got out really early from the factory Drivin' like a nut in the rain Don't think I was acting so hysterically But I didn't see a thing until it came Man, the drunks were verbal in the takeaway Beating up the Chinee at the counter I put a few inside me at the end of the day I took out my revenge on the revolution counter Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage You'd think by now at least that half my brain would get the message Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Into a brand new car In walks Bud with his exploding nose He'd been givin' it maximum today He shouted "How the devil? You in trouble I suppose? But all you ever do is run away." Turned up the motor into hyperdrive I wasn't gonna take any of that Don't get bright ideas about a suicide Cos all I ever hear is zoom bang bang bang Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage You'd think by now at least that half my brain would get the message Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Into a brand new car Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Bits of me are scattered in the trees and in the hedges Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Into a brand new car Nothing seem to happen that ain't happened before I see it all through flashes of depression I dry up my drink, get people running for the door I gotta make some kind of impression 'Cos when I'm disconnected from the driving wheel I'm only half the man I should be But metal hitting metal is all I feel And everything's as good as it possibly could be Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage You'd think by now at least that half my brain would get the message Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Into a brand new car Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Bits of me are scattered in the trees and in the hedges Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Into a brand new car Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage
I actually got to see this show way back in Dec. of 1979 just a couple weeks after seeing AC/DC at the Hammersmith on their Highway to Hell tour. Tickets were scarce as their were rumors that the Beatles were going to reunite during this gig. Myself and three friends paid 35 pounds each for standing room only tickets. Needless to say a Beatles reunion never materialized that night but the rest of the show was great none the less!!!

Wore out my vinyl of this concert. My fave Dave Edmunds/Rockpile song!

Amen, MaddenManification. I hope you are still thriving and jiving 9 years later.
Very great
If you like this kind of Rock n'roll, you should listen to The Refreshments from Sweden. They have played with Dave Edmunds from Rockpile.😉
I think Billy has played with them a fair amount as well.
Agreed. This is one of the finest collections of live music ever recorded. Where's the CD???
Fantastic! Pure energy
I have this on cassette.
Amazing. I had the double album.
True dat. I had the vinyl. Maybe still do.
sheer energy and really, really badass playing

Got out really early from the factory
Drivin' like a nut in the rain
Don't think I was acting so hysterically
But I didn't see a thing until it came
Man, the drunks were verbal in the takeaway
Beating up the Chinee at the counter
I put a few inside me at the end of the day
I took out my revenge on the revolution counter
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
You'd think by now at least that half my brain would get the message
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Into a brand new car
In walks Bud with his exploding nose
He'd been givin' it maximum today
He shouted "How the devil? You in trouble I suppose?
But all you ever do is run away."
Turned up the motor into hyperdrive
I wasn't gonna take any of that
Don't get bright ideas about a suicide
Cos all I ever hear is zoom bang bang bang
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
You'd think by now at least that half my brain would get the message
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Into a brand new car
Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage
Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage
Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Bits of me are scattered in the trees and in the hedges
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Into a brand new car
Nothing seem to happen that ain't happened before
I see it all through flashes of depression
I dry up my drink, get people running for the door
I gotta make some kind of impression
'Cos when I'm disconnected from the driving wheel
I'm only half the man I should be
But metal hitting metal is all I feel
And everything's as good as it possibly could be
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
You'd think by now at least that half my brain would get the message
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Into a brand new car
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Bits of me are scattered in the trees and in the hedges
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Into a brand new car
Crawlin' from the wreckage, crawlin' from the wreckage
Crawlin', crawlin', crawlin' from the wreckage
Someone learned how to use the copy/paste machine.
I have asked this off and on for many years. Don't know why this is not in another format.
Graham Parker tune.
