Dave Edmunds is the only performer I am aware of who can perform this kind of music without making it look like a nostalgia act. All hail Dave Edmunds!
The reason is because he's the same age as the people that grew up with this music. Hes going to be 79 in a couple of weeks. This isn't a rockabilly nostalgia duck tail revival act like other bands and duck tail Confederate flag apologists who will remain nameless.
Don't forget the one guitarist who can best them all, just quietly filling in the background and picking up stuff no-one else's can play...Mickey Gee RIP
@@flyingburritobro68 Yes but Ace and Anton are so close they will always play together off and on. When Anton released his solo album Figments not so long ago who did he have on as a special guest? Indeed Ace.
Holy shit,I was gonna mention that too.Not too many people know that.I seen him lots of times with Gordon and Chris Speding at the old Lone Star Cafe in Downtown Manhattan Gordon kicks ass.I sitll go see him.Last time was last winter at a place called Bowery Electric also Downtown NYC.
Mary on my left and Mary on my right? Dave is a bloody rock and roll legend, but he's always had trouble with lyrics... Check out some of his other live songs.
Happy 80th birthday Dave Edmunds!!!
How's he doing? Still in L.A?

Absolutely. This music is his native language.
Totally!

I love Dave Edmunds❤❤🎉🎉
Many can rock
But few can roll
Dave Edmunds was one of the few
The guy's just to cool.
Anton Figg on the drums. What a fantastic drummer. He even played with the great Robert Gordon

Real Rock and Roll. I just love it !
I really miss rock'n roll!
Thanks for posting this - a great performance!!!
Three guys I deify are Dave Edmunds, Rory Gallagher and Roy Buchanan. There is no purer form of rock n' roll than what Dave Edmunds serves up.
I love Dave & all his works, but I think the Rockpile years were his finest!
Totally agree
Really? You think Rockpile was better than Get It?
Nice vintage J-Bass there, Willie.
Yeah, he was sounding good.
nice... this was old in 1987... great sound...
pretty fucking rockin
I'm a bass player, and when I play straights 4ths like that, I have to rock back and forth like Will.
That might help give a cleaner tone.
Frehley’s Comet drummer Anton Fig having fun taking a break from his serious stuff with Ace
He has been with Joe Bonamassa’s band for a few years now

Bang on the money as nicmart put it. Dave is also one of the few can do a good take on Dion without sounding lame.
He is fucking cool.
This version of the Wanderer sounds almost identical to the Status Quo version.
True sign of an epic talent
@@assmane999 Edmunds was doing this song back in Cardiff in 1965/6..

If you -didn't- jig about to this, or at least head bob, you'd never keep time!
Dion likes this!
Is that Anton Figg on the drums?
yes
Yup
I know he learns guitart with Mr.Carl Perkins🎉❤
Is that David Letterman on the desk?
Mary on my left and Mary on my right?

"The Race Is On" - Dave is a bit loose there, for example.
@@michaelaxelfleming Not an easy song to remember.
I caught that too. he slipped up there
@madmikeastoria Yes
Will Lee on the bass?

I with my two fists of iron and I'm going nowhere
This comment is right on the money.
Paul S . please sit out
