Which Diogenes thought so preposterous an answer that he allegedly then plucked the feathers off a chicken and mockingly called it a human in front of Plato and his students. A very fitting reference for this cartoon.

I believe it was Plato that stated that a man eas a featherless biped. During a class in ehich he was expressing this idea, out of fucking nowhere, Diogenese enters the hall and starts talking shit to Plato. They have a heated argument, to which Diogenese presents a stripped chicken, proclaiming "BEHOLD, A MAN." Historical accounts differ, but many suggest the entire auditorium was screaming in abject horror for some reason at this, and Plato made an addendum to his own statement afterwards along the lines of "with feet and appendages!" Suggesting he was so frazzled himself his first instinct was to desperately correct the story in front of a man, holding a "man" in an auditorium of screaming scholars. My dude caused so much inexplicable chaos by presenting an unbutchered bird.

I like the suble and brilliant use of Platos original definition of a man. Especially because someone then presented Plato with a featherless bird to mock him.
At my school we were all given sheets with 2 bullet points where we could list things we were thankful for. I wrote 18. Little did I know, at chapel on Thursday, the priest read aloud several of the things people (including me) wrote down. He also mentioned that one person wrote down so much it filled up the whole page. I had written down many obvious things like food, water, a home, a loving family, etc. (God was listed as a given). However, there were things I wrote down that were less important but I was still thankful for. These included but were not limited to Anime, One Piece, Video Games, and other hobbies. Let's just say I was *slightly* embarrassed when I thought about the priest reading those ones out loud (he was quite old).

I believe it was Plato that stated that a man eas a featherless biped. During a class in ehich he was expressing this idea, out of fucking nowhere, Diogenese enters the hall and starts talking shit to Plato. They have a heated argument, to which Diogenese presents a stripped chicken, proclaiming "BEHOLD, A MAN." Historical accounts differ, but many suggest the entire auditorium was screaming in abject horror for some reason at this, and Plato made an addendum to his own statement afterwards along the lines of "with feet and appendages!" Suggesting he was so frazzled himself his first instinct was to desperately correct the story in front of a man, holding a "man" in an auditorium of screaming scholars.
My dude caused so much inexplicable chaos by presenting an unbutchered bird.

At my school we were all given sheets with 2 bullet points where we could list things we were thankful for. I wrote 18. Little did I know, at chapel on Thursday, the priest read aloud several of the things people (including me) wrote down. He also mentioned that one person wrote down so much it filled up the whole page. I had written down many obvious things like food, water, a home, a loving family, etc. (God was listed as a given). However, there were things I wrote down that were less important but I was still thankful for. These included but were not limited to Anime, One Piece, Video Games, and other hobbies. Let's just say I was *slightly* embarrassed when I thought about the priest reading those ones out loud (he was quite old).
I know it may have been embarassing for you at the moment, but that was actually very wholesome and endearing of you. I hope you see it in the future. God bless!
