Misquoting Trump was the red pill for me. I'd probably still consider myself a centrist, but man did I learn a lot once I learned who to not listen to.
"There's a rational middle ground between an automatic path to citizenship and a program of mass deportation." Trump said during his campaign that he wouldn't mind have a door on the wall so people could come into the country legally. He even said he wanted more people than ever immigrating, but that he wants it to be legal. How is trying to find compromise between no immigration and open borders any different than that? If anything, Trump was giving more compromise in his rhetoric.
We're at the point where the idea of expecting people to follow the law even when entering the country is a major political division. The law and government is there to protect its citizens first, not hopeful immigrants. When you prioritize people outside of the country over your own citizens you have failed as a government.
These people grew up never being told "no". In their mind, if someone wants something, as long as you have the same politics that they do, then you should get it without question and without resistance.
"It's not normal for the Senate to block the President's Supreme Court nomination..." "Researchers gave them a score based on how extreme or moderate they were" In other words, this entire scale is based on subjective reasoning and is totally worthless.
Exactly. It's quite a dangerous double edged sword; there is no barometer to measure how extreme social ideologies have became. We need to measure this by results and actions, such as rioting, discrimination, segregation, etc. All of which the left are using ad nauseam. 10 years ago I would say I was a proud liberal, but as the goal posts have consistently changed, I might as well be a GOP flag flying cowboy in places like Seattle or LA, where I work.
Ah yes, 'history is written by leftists' (including democrats er liberals, despite them being extremely different). I think one of three things happened; the leftists (moved farther left to address rightist moving farther right, the rightists moved farther right, or each side percieves a change, possibly partly causing the shift on both sides. I don't think this is a 'leftists bad' thing, but I think we're all stupid. Also @DrewBias_95 out here actually sounding like a nazi goddamn u ight bro? I do feel democrats are being forced into a more business friendly old republican model due to corporations. Basically, democrats try to pass a bill that partly effects corporations via better worker conditions, a higher wage (pulling an amazon), etc, corporations threaten to cut funds from them (they also fund repubs to get them to release restrictions or do the same thing), the bill gets cutback massively to meet corporate demands whilst keeping their voters happy, corporations are pleased and leave. By the way, I'm not a Democrat nor a repub. I do thing the democratic system is flawed, not to any ideology but to the demands of corporations, and I do think stock buybacks and the abolition of the gold standard have lowered the real economy whilst the economy prospers, also contributing to corporations. I don't see why Republicans fight so hard to get their way when democrats, despite having farther leftist thought (apparently, I see rightists and leftists making that same argument against eachother as dumb), end up mimicking the actions of Republicans in the Teddy Roosevelt era than any form of leftist policy. Fun fact: political ideology is unrelated to age (except bottom left anarchists if you squint alot)

They don't teach about the Russian leftist authoritarianism that killed about 20 to 50 million people last century for this reason. Nope. Both are equally fucked. Fuck whataboutism. Edit: However, let's not pretend that that wasn't the intent. When you hand someone 1200 pages of legalese, and tell them to vote pass or fail by end of next day, they aren't doing that in good faith.
So if I understand Democrat’s plan in 2021: “everything we are guilty of, just let our media outlets say it’s the republicans that are guilty” ??? Hmm, sounds like the same tactics that my kids use on each other
The Democrat's entire platform seems to be based on "confession through projection". So many of the things they hyperventilated Trump was going to do (but never did), they are now rushing to do. (Police state, the Constitution as butt-wipe, weaponizing the government against political "enemies" and outsourcing bullying and banning to social media). The problem is they've gone fully far-Left demented to the point where their confessions through projection are ludicrously blatant (like Molly Ball's Time Magazine article) and they are fully expecting the media outlets to mislead the gullible sheeple into letting the government seize even MORE power over your personal life. What the radical left do is so dishonest, they presume that their ideas are moderate, and based on that they assume that conservatives and anyone on the left of Hillary Clinton is ""extremist"", which don't make sense for a lot of reasons including the fact that the majority of the people are conservative, so by definition they can't be "extreme", only radical.
The ‘extremism’ of liberalism and conservatism depends on a lot of things. Conservatism in itself isn’t that extreme, it’s about as extreme as what we call liberalism. But some liberals and conservatives have special economic and cultural policies that make them more or less extreme. So it’s a very hard question to answer, especially since the meaning ‘liberalism’ is extremely vague, and so is conservatism. All in all, become a libertarian. Edit: Also, the comment above me is correct, neither liberals or conservatives can by definition be extreme.

One platform is for the opposite of every moral norm we've basically ever had, and the other is trying to conserve the morals that were essential for making society basically able to work!
You are aware you're contributing to that divide, right now, right? Nine times out of ten, people who disagree with you are not evil. They're usually trying to do good, but don't understand what they're being told. Look at Black Lives Matter. The majority of people who repeat that are white, 40+ soccer moms who just see the tagline, hear it's about helping black people, and leave it at that. They WANT to do good, they're just being misled by the minority of evil, scumbag motherfuckers using those peoples good nature to mask their own evil doing. And those that are are viewed as traitors by wherever they came from, and liars or fence-sitters by the side they're talking to. No one can even hear an issue and fucking think about it. The problem with that is, if it's something that one side ABSOLUTELY cannot stand or allow then that creates anger, which leads to more anger from the other side wondering why they're so close-minded to new ideas, which leads to treating the first side as a joke. In other words, this entire scale is based on subjective reasoning and is totally worthless.

So it’s a very hard question to answer, especially since the meaning ‘liberalism’ is extremely vague, and so is conservatism.

i admit that i am probably mentaly weaker(will to fight, not computing power) then the average men in 1914, and i think that most people are.
but at some point if nobody want responsability and IA are not ready to take care of them yet, if they just keep going further left then society will colapse , creating harder time, creating strong men, who will want responsability, and the circle will start again from the beginning.

Hmm, I wonder why compromise would be so difficult?
The problem is that media has made everyone so fucking tribal, so convinced of the 'other' being evil, that no one is willing to step across the aisle, and talk. And those that are are viewed as traitors by wherever they came from, and liars or fence-sitters by the side they're talking to.
No one can even hear an issue and fucking think about it. Because it has to agree with the tribe. 'What does the chief say? That's what I say.'

Don't sink to their level. Offer the hand. It'll get slapped away most times, but fuck them, be better than them. Because if we don't fucking talk, this shit will never end.
The problem with that is, if it's something that one side ABSOLUTELY cannot stand or allow then that creates anger, which leads to more anger from the other side wondering why they're so close-minded to new ideas, which leads to treating the first side as a joke. Which leads to more anger, and more belittling, which leads to absolutely nothing valuable

When I came to my faith in 2003, I learned more in my first two years about the Bible and my God than some people had with their 20 years in the church ( sadly). Making an appeal to one's time in a field is somewhat valid, but not a guarantee they actually know what they're talking about, or have any more wisdom than the newbie.

@@TheBeatlesShow Yes because we’re the ones who harass/cancel anyone who disagrees with us :)
not at the expense of our goals, at the expense of our constitution and our integrity
@@TheBeatlesShow I'm not either of them but as a poc, I'd definitely settle with conservatives, even the extremists, because at least they won't try to act like they care so much and then cancel me out of my race if ever I have a different opinion about their ideals.
"neutral observers, like journalists" Oh, so that's what we're gonna do here, we're just gonna lie to each other. Okay.
If democrats didn’t lie, they would never speak. And if they weren’t evil, they wouldn’t exist.
This is an excellent analysis by the DeBunkers. I'm so glad they have rehabilitated themselves.
I mean the Korean war wasn't pointless it kept the south free. And likely prevented Japan from facing a serious communist threat. So Truman's war was a fairly good move all things considered.
I fundamentally disagree with a lot of what Truman believed or did, but he was anti-commies, so I'll give him that.
Letting an maniac and a fivehead manage it wasn't that good of an idea
Who gives a fuck if Korea became communist or not, or about Japan. Are they Americans? Do they pay state or federal taxes to the USA or its constituent states and commonwealths? Do they have to sign up for American Selective Service? No? Okay, fuck'em.

"Asymetrical Polarization"
Hey! You were right!
Well they were partially correct. There is asymmetrical polarization... Only difference is, it’s the left getting radicalized while the right has actually moved slightly to the left, just gotten more agitated as it happened.
@@QualityPen Just here to point out Trump is the first president in history to be elected supporting gay marriage and had an LGBTQ+ flag in the background the day he won.
Obama was first elected well being completely opposed to it.
@@VioletDeathRei lmao, it's amazing and kinda funny in a sad way that that's ignored.
@@VioletDeathRei posturing for cameras is one thing, but he actually signed bills making it legal for doctors to discriminate against lgbtq folks, during a pandemic no less.
@@markdouglas1601 And instantly lying to me I get tired of this.
The original bill prohibited discrimination based on sex not gender, Trump did not change the bill what he signed was a reversal of an addendum that said "sex is gender" by Obama which every single transgender person on the face of existence says are not the same daily and he affirmed that.
The addendum was to circumvent having to make a new law which has already been made and passed and no one was prevented from suing just because the change.
So in other words he not Obama agreed with the transgender community's definition of sex and gender and so the media said that means he hates them.
You can stop the propaganda any day now he's not even in office anymore it's Biden striping away your healthcare now like repealing Trump's order that lowered the cost of insulin for diabetics.
Basically: they've moved so far left normal conservative policies now look like the final solution to them.
While actively supporting camps to re educate those they disagree with, so that they won't have problems with dissent ever again....
they moved so far left that the came around the other side and are now preaching the final solution
Conservatives hate normal policies in better countries like FREE HEALTHCARE
I've had this conversation with liberal friends and they just can't seem to grasp it. The left and center have moved so far left that even most moderate republicans today would be considered extreme left by 1980's standards. Also how come no one talks about how far up both sides have gone?
Because liberals have a narcissistic deity complex, and most conservatives are liberal lites.
Almost like progressive means constantly moving the goalpost.
Yes. Y e s.
"Conservatives are more radical"
...name a single time historically speaking that the conservatives were the radicals. By their very *definition* it is exceptionally hard to have a radical conservative.
(It is possible, just harder)
I love how the arguments in this are held. Neither of the party’s are angels, but the hypocrisy in saying only one party is the problem and challenging the hypocrisy of saying so makes me smile
Well it's kinda true that there is one party that is the problem pretty much since it was founded really.
Hmmm let me think 🤔
Oh that's right the Democrats.
Democrats: Let's burn the house down with everyone inside
Republicans: Ya let's not
Democrats: Republicans are extremists and they wont let me do what I want.
I discovered your channel two days ago and this kind of stuff is gold.
I can't believe Carlos Maza still has a job.
Right? I'm tempted to go get into an accident and contract a brain injury so I can get a job like his.
he doesn't he has been fired and it's a 2 year old video. But it's more relevant today than ever I guess...
@@captainvanisher988 He got fired, good. I'm sick of double standards.
Batgirl and super girl got sever season even with 90% less people watching it than those who watched firefly. Hollywood is no longer about making good content, and hiring good people. Only reason he is around still is because he leeches off his rich parents while publishing his hypocritical communist BS, and he even has the gall to have a patreon for it
