    Blake, I recently purchased this notebook from you in Black as well as your Gmund Blocker Paper notebook in gray. Both are fantastic, but the Mitsubishi Bank paper notebook is my favorite. The A5 size, soft cover, and extreme flexibility due to the good amount of signatures are killer features for me. And the combination of feedback and smoothness of writing experience is pretty unique to me amongst the many fountain pen papers I've tried (Rhodia, Tomoe River Clairefontaine, Muji, Profolio, etc). This is going to become my new go to notebook and I'm going to be ordering more. It goes really well with my Lamy 2000 using Noodler's Black Eel ink. Thanks for bringing such a great product to the market. I first heard about it watching the Ink Guy's review of it. He raved about it and I tend to trust his opinion. Best of luck with the new company!

      Thank you so much Paolo for your kind words and your support! I truly appreciate it. It always makes me happy to hear that people are liking these notebooks. Mitsubishi Bank Paper has been my a favorite of mine for a long time and it is a pleasure to make it more visible in the fountain pen community. I am grateful to Adam (An Ink Guy) for his amazing detailed review. He was also the first person to give my TH-cam channel a real bump a couple of years ago.

    I'm going through your older notebook reviews - thanks for posting reviews of the Paper Mind notebooks. I know you designed them, but your review style is my favorite regardless - you give all the details, and your writing and ink tests are thorough. I've been wondering about this Mitsubishi Bank Paper for awhile, so I was eager to see how it performs. I think yours is the only lined notebook with this paper that's available right now. Musubi, for example, doesn't offer a lined version, only blank and cross grid - their shipping is also really expensive. I'm definitely going to buy this notebook. I just want to check out your reviews of all the hardcover notebooks you offer first - I want to try one of those as well.

      Thank you for the comment. I am glad you are liking my reviews. Mitsubishi Bank Paper is great. We are planning to make dot grid and blank versions as soon as more Bank Paper is available.

    I find it funny that I found The Paper Mind independent from this channel.
    I love this channel.
    In searching for more information on Both the Bank paper and the Blocker paper, I went to this channel because it is very informative.
    I didn't even realize that the Blake that i was emailing was the same Blake as one of my favorite notebook reviewers.
    I will just need to buy both, as well as the planner, if it is something i can use with my system.

      Hi Jack, thank you for your support! I really appreciate it. Mitsubishi makes the paper in Life's Bank Paper pads, it is the same as far as I can tell. I read that Life got Mitsubishi to remake Bank Paper in the mid 2000s after it had been out of production for decades.

    I received my notebook lightning fast. Very nice paper. A tad on the toothy side. Although, I haven’t seen ANY bleed thru with the paper. And I use some wet, wide pens!=]

    • @BlakesBroadcast
      @BlakesBroadcast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am glad they arrived quickly. You really have to dump ink the paper to get it to bleed. There is some feedback to Bank Paper for sure, but I've tested it with my sharpest nibs and have never had an issue with any of them catching.

  • @KobieK

    Respect for making sure everything is made in Japan. However, the price is unrealistically high considering we can get 3 or 4 Midori notebooks for the price of 1 of your notebooks and we all know Midori paper is one of the best.

    • @BlakesBroadcast
      @BlakesBroadcast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Compare my prices to other manufacturers making similar notebooks with Bank Paper. Bank Paper is a high-end limited production paper with overall better performance than Midori MD. For some people it is worth it and for others it is not and that is okay.
      I think Midori makes a great notebook and if you are satisfied with it then there is no need to "upgrade".

    I like to be able to cleanly remove pages from my notebooks and journals. After all, unless one is perfect, not everything one writes is a "keeper". This preference demands that the pages upon which I write have perforations. Despite all of its fine qualities, your design here doesn't include paper with perforations. For me, this is an absolute deal-breaker. Is there a reason why you chose to not opt for perforated pages?

    • @BlakesBroadcast
      @BlakesBroadcast  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      These notebooks are bound to last a long time. Having a sewn binding with all perforated pages hurts the integrity of the book block.
      There is The Paper Mind Twin-Ring Cosmo Air Light notebook with all perforated pages. Ring notebooks are more disposable.
      If you want something more similar to Bank Paper I highly recommend Kokuyo's Perpanep line of notebooks these notebooks have pages that are designed to be removed flawlessly.
