she did a lot of good stuffs for her wedding. What i did was panic unnecessarily and had nervous breakdowns because I was too overwhelmed. Now I look back and laugh as i have so many funny stories to share with people which almost gave me heart attacks

Mine was a love marriage still i was terrified because what if he turns out to be a serial killer. 5 years have past, don't think he is a serial killer probably a serial sleeper ( dude can sleep like 12 hours straight without even opening his eyes once)

i did nothing got up ,bought a dress and got married ,somehow on the wedding day my skin was the best it has ever been in my whole life ,i had agnatural glow and zero acne although i suffer from acne all the rest of the time .💁🏻♀️

Your perception of marriage must be different from mine I don’t want to get married but I do respect the concept that one day that one decision can lead to in 60 years multiple people maybe children or even friends gained along the way looking back on that day just last week I was looking at my mums wedding picture when her friends came happy and she talked about how she has never felt as pretty as she did in her wedding day cause she did the things she wouldn’t usually do leading up to her wedding

@@NoName-sp5dp I do care about my appearance and I would make sure to carefuly pick everything to make it as pretty as possible. Not however on the cost of being uncomfortable. I definitely wouldn't pick up a new diet and skincare routine and workout plan for the sake of one day- that to me is excessive.
Brides, don't feel this is "required" to enjoy or glow on your wedding day.. you will anyway enjoy your wedding day even if you don't spend millions of dollars on the preparations, etc.
It's about the intention.
She's enjoying it her own way, i see no problem. Some people want something simple. Some people want to look their best on their big day. No one can judge

I did loose a bit of weight but thanks to my mom i worried for nothing cuz she planned everything perfectly..got one single skin treatment and thankfully my makeup artist was wonderful..i didnt interfere with her work and she did an amazing job..i still think i looked my best at my wedding and got so many compliments 🙈

I like that she does things that aren't only there to achieve a certain physical appearance, she obviously enjoyed it and maybe helped her get some new habits. It's about what floats your boat during that time and always.
To anyone approaching their own wedding and stressed out by this - you don't have to do all this if it's more anxiety inducing than enjoyable! I was extremely busy leading up to my wedding and didn't have time to get in extra good shape, have flawless skin, I practiced my wedding hair to close to the day and had a still visible curling iron burn on my neck, I even ended up on what felt like an eternal period because I had an iud placed just a month before my wedding. It's okay! You don't have to have every aspect of your body in flawless condition. You won't care about those things looking back. Do what you can but don't worry about it. All that matters is that you end the day with a loving husband
We had a destination wedding. I basically met with the wedding planner a week ahead of time to decide the food, cake and flowers 🌺 and spent the rest of the week swimming, hiking and eating plenty of local foods. Got dressed and did my hair and makeup an hour ahead of our ceremony. I could never plan this well. 😂

What I did to be happy healthy and ready for my big day without going broke :
- cut out sugary processed foods except testing wedding cake!
- walk on country roads to pray for your future husband and soak up the sun.
- a timeless haircut or have a friend trim it.
- spend more time preparing for marriage than for the wedding day
- meal prep freezer meals for your first few weeks of married life
- the day before spend lots of time with your fiancé in anticipation!
- exfoliate and take a rose water bath! My skin smelled sweet for days!!
Just ideas I wanted to share because It was perfect for me! I do not regret saving money 💕

I took a shower, did my make up and put on my dress. Ready to go. Helps that I was 21 so my body was in shape without trying and I had baby skin. Ohhhh the good ol’ days.

Just a note to everyone this is not required and you aren’t any less of a person or bride if you don’t do all of this. It is your day try not to push yourself if you aren’t genuinely doing it for you many girls will crash diet or do a bunch of stuff before their weddings and then hate looking at their wedding pictures because it doesn’t look like them. You are beautiful how you are and it’s ok to look like yourself at your wedding. On the other hand if you want to do all this stuff go ahead!! It’s your day there’s no right or wrong way to have your wedding just make sure you stay safe. If you’re going to tan make sure it isn’t your first time doing it or you get it done professionally and test out the place you’re going to do it first so you don’t end up with botched tan on your big day
Same with skincare try not to drastically change your skincare routine too close to your wedding in case of bad reactions this also goes for eyelash extensions if it’s your first time ever getting them done do it a couple times before your actual wedding to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction stay safe and reasonable and don’t push yourself too much :))
not gonna lie…this is weird energy, don’t love it, don’t love that we’re continuing the idea that a bride needs to spend tons of money, lose weight, have perfect skin for the wedding…but if it works for you it works for you

She isn’t saying that😭 this is what she wanted to do, this is what she had the ability to do, so she did it. Why do people automatically assume because someone else is doing something they have to do that thing too? Do whatever you want, this is what she did to make herself feel happy and comfortable. It’s a personal problem if you’re trying to compare yourself to other people all the time. Just because she did all this stuff to make herself happy doesn’t mean everyone has to and nowhere did she say that.
I'm conflicted about this, but i think that's partially the take away. for my at-home wedding, i wore a dress that was new but was a gift from a relative, i made my own decorations, did my own makeup, catered food was under 500$, and that's all. i envy op for being able to do all this, but at the same time if i was able to, it would not have made one bit difference for the actual wedding itself or even my marriage. the only thing i regret was that we had no photographer. No money, but also no further debt. also i have a very jaded view of marriage so why spend so much money once when you may have to do it again lol.
Right, and all the groom has to do is dress in a fancy suit and literally not fall on his face 🙄

I'm horrified when a first time client come in for a facial, eyebrow shaping and tinting and full body waxing.. never having had any of the services before. And I find out half way through that they're getting married the next day. This has happened so many times.
The day before your wedding:
Don't get a facial with a product line your skin isn't accustomed to, you could break out. Good quality skincare changes your skin and that often includes bringing deep acne to the surface.
Don't get waxed for the first time, some people have little red dots for a day or two after
Don't go to a new eyebrow/eyelash specialist
Don't get any eyebrow or lash tint/glue that you haven't used before. You could react. Or your eyebrows might look darker than you wanted.
God forbid you get eyelash extensions for the first time
Negative reactions to beauty treatments are very rare but not something you want to risk right before your wedding. Use only treatments that your skin is accustomed to. So yeah, for some people that means trying new beauty procedures months in advance

I always remembered this horror story from an aesthetician about a bride to be who wanted a complete wax below and never had any, her wedding was the day after. The beautician wrote that her hair was so dense she couldnt see the skin tag she had and sadly ripped it off and had to call an ambulance because it didnt stop bleeding 😭 True or not, that story has been living rent free in my head for the longest time and convinced me to not do that.
Same for the facials, your skin can purge like crazy after using new products

I had pizza the night before I got married. Prepare however you like and don’t feel pressured to conform to any type of regime if you don’t want to do it! Although if you can afford the facials, those sound amazing. Exercise is always good too

Meanwhile, my prep: got my nails done the day before and put together the bouquets. I was determined to be low key for the wedding itself.
I did the opposite lol. Bought my dress 1 month before my wedding, did my regular everyday routines other than when I needed to go and check the reception and the menu. 2 days before I got my nails done and the day of I left my hair natural (curly) my mom just added flowers, then my mom added lashes (I cannot put them on for the life of me) with some light makeup since I don’t wear any. Wanted to look natural but surprise my husband with eyeliner and what not, which he thought I looked so glammed lol. Honestly do whatever makes you happy, it’s your and your partners day. I just wanted something smaller and not be super stressed since I was in the middle of training for my new job while trying to pass the torch to my replacement, also we had a TON of meetings so I couldn’t even get a honeymoon 😭

My brother was still sleeping an hour before the wedding while my family and I were all ready, got the wedding hall ready, had everything in place.

I sewed my own dress, cooked, prepared all the food, baked a cake for the vegan, cleaned my house and garden like crazy with my husband to be, got alot of help from my family to prepare the tent, lay the tables, fix the outdoors lights. Two days before the wedding I went to the hairdresser. I gain some weight just before the wedding bc of the stress and tight scedule so I bought some panties that hold your tummy in bc I've ginished my dress and I hadn't time to alter it and still make it look good.
Groom: I just took a bath in the morning!

My 4th anniversary is this week. I remember gaining a bit of weight due to stress, getting a massage the day before and fighting with my mother over some family drama the night before….

However I am all about skin care and pampering lol. I don’t dye my hair, that’s just better for me. I do want to try one day not sure when. I just care for mine by brushing gently putting oil at the ends. Shampooing as least as possible. Investing in good products etc. I just put any oil I have like coco 😅 that’s what I can afford lol in the past I’ve put even olive 😂😮 and avocado oil hope that helps. Also always put sunscreen everyday no matter the ocasión ❤❤❤

This is just a reminder that if you’re getting married and you work fulltime it will be nearly impossible to do all the prep the internet deems necessary. Do what you can but remember they love you for how you are, thats why they’re marrying you. And its all over so incredibly quick, its easy to get caught up in attempts at perfection, but you are there to share and celebrate the love between two people, not to become the best most (probably unattainable) perfect version of yourself. Dont let the pressure distract you from what a wedding really means.
And then there's me, having a full mental breakdown 6 weeks before the wedding because Corona, impossible in-laws and a burn out that I unwittingly prepared for years. I had to stay home for 4 weeks and take antidepressants to approximately get back on my feet.
Despite all this, the wedding day was great, my husband is the best I could hope for and now things are better with my in-laws :)

My student told me this is normal for Korean brides. She was like this too and she said she should have focused on what truly matters.
Today is my 8th yr wedding anniversary. We were a big blended family on a budget but it was soooo perfect ❤️
We decided to get married 2 months before the wedding (well, we had known for years that we wanted to get married, it’s just that we decided on the wedding two months before it happened), and I didn’t prepare at all except finding a nice dress and shoes. Didn’t wear make-up (nothing wrong with it, I just don’t feel comfortable wearing it) so nothing much to prepare. I showered, did my hair, got dressed. But I wouldn’t have had time for all those things anyway because our wedding was very DIY and the weeks before the wedding were just spent painting, printing, making stuff.
