Nice job as always… I am toying with upgrading to the wing rack myself at the end of the year…. I patch the same way…. My biggest question that I’m loving is the rack mounted computer and touch screen, I would like to go the same way at some point instead of always using a MacBook Pro, what are both of them???
Thanks for watching! The computer is a refurbished Dell Optiplex I picked up off of woot.com. Check out their site under Desktop computers, they always seem to have a rotating list. There's HP mini pcs as well you could check out. The touchscreen is a 15.6 inch portable from Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQC2WSVJ
I revisited Mixing Station last week and wanted to ask about your workflow. How do you have it set up? Did you start with a premade layout that you liked, or did you build one from scratch?
I saw your video about Mixing Station. I've been using it for years, so I'm used to how it looks out of the box. I built my layouts from scratch. I explain some of it in my "Come build with me" Mixing Station video. Happy to help! Thanks for watching.
Nice Video! I've got so many questions. It seems like much of the stuff people are doing on these types of events isn't necessary and does nothing to benefit or deliver higher quality audio production. It's like instead of going from point to A to B, a bunch of turns and out of the way paths are taken to get to the end point. I see a lot of guys "tech out" and and it's usually on the weekend warrior and hobby user. I see it more of toys than tools to do the job. It looks like you have nice system and layout. Some questions if you will... How much do you charge for events like these? Do you ever have to meet tech riders? Do you ever have to meet code requirements?
I have my business divided up into essentially two areas, a compact rig for smaller gigs, and a festival/large event rig. I price out gigs based on equipment needed (% of retail), and labor needed, which will be a day rate or hourly rate for each tech. I will discount at times, based on relationship or other criteria. I too have been guilty of "teching out", but experience has taught me that what's most important are tools to get the job done, with enough extra to be prepared for the unforeseen event. For example, I always carry an X32 Rack, spare router, and spare tablet(s) racked in a 3u case that doesn't take much room. These days, any "tech outs" I do are mainly for my own preference or convenience. For example, I didn't need the Waves Fit setup for this gig, it was just my preference to have the physical faders and workspace, vs running from a tablet. Your point is why I started this TH-cam channel, to share what I've learned and my thoughts on streamlining setup and efficiency for events. I know I don't know everything, and I'm always apt to learn something new. I appreciate comments like yours. Thank you for watching!
Wing Rack is still on my shopping list!
Sounds like a good mix (maybe a little kick heavy :-)

What passive antenna combiner did you use?
RF Venue

Where did you get the storage boxes under the rack? What are they called? I’m looking for the exact same thing
Milwaukee Packout. I use Toughbuilt stacktech.
Yep, Milwaukee Packout. In the States, you can pick them up at Home Depot
Why did you switch from the shure wireless to the audio technica?
The Shure are racked up in the big festival rack. The audix wireless are what I use for this compact rig
Nice Video!
