Love how you can spot the bullets briefly when the camera is zoomed in during your vids, really gives you a sense of the power and speed of a bullet.
I've got a Marlin Glenfield model#36 Carbine ,that my Dad bought me for Christmas in 1963. I was about 15 yrs old,at the time.I still have that rifle and I hunt with it every year.Take care of them and they will last forever.
Just found one of these in my dad's closet, first time its been shot in probably 20 years. One of the best rifles I've ever fire.
Ya gotta love that .44 caliber chunk of lead,it hits with authority.
Shot a Marlin.44 years ago and still remember it. Have a very tiny version of it now .22 Henry, but still a very fun lever gun
Lever action rifles are so much fun. I've got a Henry .22lr and a Marlin1894C .357 and they are my favorite rifles to shoot.
I have a Marlin 357 magnum lever gun that is just plain handy and fun. I used to carry it plinking with my Blackhawk convertible. Just plain fun to plink with any time. I loved to plink with the long and hand gun in the same caliber. Sweet shooting on those distant targets. My gunsmith showed me a peep sight on his eyeglasses that functions as a Skinner peep sight and helped bring front sight into focus. It must be the same principle.
Just got my first marlin in 44mag... Is was made in 1978 and still looks new... I haven't had a chance to shoot it, Until I do, I'll just keep on watching this video... Great video....
Hickok45, I had a gunsmith put a peep sight on the rear of mine just as you obviously have. It really makes a true good shooter out of an already good rifle. I always enjoy your video's. You really love guns and know what you are talking about. Respectfully & gratefully,
I wanted to tell you guys that one of the things I find most enjoyable about your videos is the good quality camera and camera work that I think "John" does. Too many vids are ruined on other channels by shoddy camera work so I wanted to give credit where credit is due and thanks for being willing to invest in a high quality HD video recorder for our viewing pleasure, makes it much more enjoyable and better to watch. My favorite part is the 250 yard gong zoomed in enough to track the bullet.
I am sold. Marlin 1894 .44 mag is the next one in my safe! Great shooting.
Thanks Hickok, the Marlins always been on my wish list.
I have an 1894 saddle ring carbine in .44 magnum! What a great little rifle
That Marlin has the best sounding action I've ever heard. It's music to my ears...
real cool classic cowboy gun. thanks for posting..Bill
i have a lever action 30-30 and its probably one of the funest guns to shoot! love that lever!
Thanks for your videos! I just bought my first 44 magnum Marlin 1894 today!
Been watching these .44mag videos all over again recently as a kind of substitute for shooting them myself. Sold my old Lee equipment a month or so ago and I was expecting my new progressive dillon 650 setup soon after. But delays after delays and now I am here with spring knocking on the door and no loaded ammunition.
I enjoy your revisits Hickok45.
I love these old guns.
Hi hickok45, I'm from Germany/ Bavaria and you are doing a great Job...! I like your vids, they are very infomative and well produced! Thanks for that! I watch every Vid! GOOD JOB
You may be one of the best shots on youtube. Throughout all of your vids you always display really solid shooting abilities. I cant complain!
Great video hickock....I LOVE being able to see those heavy bullets fly and strike the target
Love the cowboy guns.My friend has one in 44-40 and we have put many rounds through it.There accuracy , very good. Thanks for another great video.
After watching this it makes me want to try some lever actions and great demonstration
I luv the close up on the black gong you can see the bullets before they hit..... so cool :)
I just purchased a marlin 1894 today. I'm glad I watched this. I can't wait to get out on the range!
I love how lever actions sound.
at 7:37 you can actually see the bullet in the air right before it hits the target! Great talk. would love one of those
That is cool seeing the bullet before it hits the target. They aren't fast, but they hit hard.
Now that is the exact rifle I have always wanted. Perfect.
I have a marlin 44 mag, made in '76. I'
ve just shot 240 gr Hornady hp/xtp with 296 out out it so far, haven't tried the cast yet. Looking to get the lace up butt pad to give a longer lop, I put one on my 9422 and it helped alot. Actually looked at the Skinner sights but haven't pulled the trigger on that yet( so to speak). One of the more fun guns I have to shoot, always makes me smile to take it out.
i did this a this gun in a .44-40 yesterday. it was fun it had a rear peep sight on it. just a fantastic gun.
I am seriously addicted to this channel, by far my favorite!
I love it when you can see the round sail in from off screen in the super zoom :)
You do a wonderful job with your videos. I am looking forward to making a Marlin purchase in the .44 lever 1894 very soon. Outstanding shooting by the way!
I have the winchester model 94 in 44mag awesome gun love to shoot it. thanks for sharing
The ol' lever guns! I could watch these videos all day. What you need to do is get a saddle for that little roller skate of a car and get a nice rifle holster hanging off the side and do a video with that!!!! LOL keep up the great videos, have a great week
Beautiful gun.. when i was a kid i loved that reloading sound in western movies, love it still today actually :)
Great video. I am picking up a model 29 S&W 8". Wanted a rifle for the same caliber. Now I know what to get. Keep them coming!!!
You really are a great shooter.
Keep the videos up, we're loving them!
Wow! That is sweet, man, and a beauty indeed. I love the sound of that smooth lever action there, partner:)) Thanks for the post, hickok45, sir!
Love this rifle thanks Hickok45!
Very nice, love the sound it makes
I really like the .44 Mag. in a carbine. I've been using my Ruger M96 as a woods gun for years. Gotta respect the kick (and blast) of that cartridge. Great shooting as always Hickok.
wanted to thank you for expanding my interests in firearms to marlins i will be getting one you deserve commision
Man oh man that is impressive. I have always been attracted to these guns. Haven't seen a hot hand load in them before. Kind of shocking. May have to go get me one now. Thanks Hickok!!!
I loved the video and thank you for the effort. I really want a 44mag lever gun at the moment.
such a pretty gun!
Excellent rifle, I have one myself, also in 44 magnum. You're a skilled marksman!
I've watched many of your videos, and you are an n credible shot off iron sights, it always impresses me
that Marlin is in gorgeous condition
That's so cool, when the camera is zoomed in, you can actually see the bullets flying, nice video btw:)
Gorgeous weapon, thanks for sharing. :)
VERY nice rifle....so versatile....gotta get another one sometime soon.
Great job!, I have A Marlin 444 lever and new out of the box it hangs up when ;loading each round.. after all these years i know how to hold it just right to get the round to feed...Great gun!!!
that is a beautiful rifle. i love the sound of it shooting. the 44 mag sounds cool in open areas like that it sounds beter shooting it from a rifle
Very sweet rifle sir! Thank you!
sweet gun! love lever actions
I love lever action and single action guns!
Poor gong :) Nice video, good shooting skills !
I just ordered my marlin today, hope to get some fun with it !
@Ninety9Soulz , Same thing I use for everything else: Ballistol. :-) It's great for bringing out the luster of the wood and metal.
GREAT SHOOTING!! That thing is far more accurate than I would've imagined!! Thanks!
Great job sir !!
That's so awesome, you can see the bullets at around 6:00!
"Let's warm up ..."
*Immediately hits the target twice with unerring accuracy and precision*
Bravo.
Great video sir, Your laughing makes it fun...STOP HAVING SO MUCH FUN!!!
those skinner sights are good for the money, i got a skinner rear peep sight on my henry and a high viz red fibre optic front sight. perfect together.
I love large pistol calibers in rifles. I have a .454 casull levergun, I love it dearly.
lever actions, I love those guns
Love my 1894 in .44mag. 300grJHPs do their job quite nicely, on medium/small game. I've never recovered a bullet, but the exit wound is much larger than the entry :)
one of my favourites.
Another great video - thank you!
Beautiful gun. It makes me want one. looks like a blast to shoot.
That is one fine weapon.
"I hate it when a target feels neglected"
Excellent line!
damn fine shooting. Your Accuracy is amazing.
As always thanks for this video. I support this site. I didn’t look to see if this video is one of your older ones, but this is a new perceptive for me!
~M~
The 1894 .44 is lethal for deer. I killed an 8 point buck yesterday during Pa's deer season. I used Hornaday LEVEReveolution 225 grain. The bullet blew the bottom off his heart and destroyed his liver.he only went 10 yards.
Mr. .45...love your view, very educational and amusing! I would like your view's on some modern Henry rifles (.45-70 or .44 mag). My 8 year old grandson and I value your opinion. Thanks for all your hard work!
My mate has a 44 mag lever gun with a 16" barrel. I fired it the other day with some factory ammo and it kicked the crap out of me. Seriously the most kick of any firearm i've fired. Don't know how you manage to shoot a revolver full of that stuff!
I just got a regular round barrel 94 in .44mag this morning!!
i love lever guns, all i have is a Browning BL Grade II, it may be a 22 but its a lever gun non the less!
love my marlin its in 357 great little gun
@magvat , On the cowboy models, you generally don't have problems with the front sight.
My Winchester model 94e in 44 mag. has a front tunel sight. Very accurate also:)
"I hate it when a target feels neglected." - Hickok45
LOL!
got one upstairs,
its awsome
That is a pretty sweet looking gun. I have never shot a lever gun, but that might just be a future purchase one of these days. Would be nice to have a rifle in the same caliber as my revolvers. Great shootin as always
thanks for the video!
Hickok, did you find it necessary to replace the front sight when you added the Skinner Sights to your rifle? I am going to add them to my brother's Marlin 336 and I am unsure if I need to go ahead and add them or just wait and see how it effects the point of impact of his rifle first. Any help you can provide or suggestions you have will be deeply appreciated. Your videos are awesome and you and John do a great job. I eagerly await your next one. Thanks for your time, N.Greene
Marlin calibre 44! Bela arma, precisa e com um belo "soco"!
@BirmzWeedhead , Yeah, and you notice the big hits. The 300 grains of lead flattening out creates quite a large splash on the gong.
I love my Marlin .44. I love watching you shoot yours! :0)
2:28 you actually see the bullet i love that
Always wanted one of those
so good this lever rifle i have it fantastic
Even Wild Bill would be proud of that accuracy!
I don't reload yet so I'm looking at the .357 model but man that .44mag looks really fun to shoot!
Nice product.
