Just a thing about "I didn't want the cat to feel lonely"
The cat won't. Cats are very solitary animals and its actually recommended you only own one. More than one cat in the household means the cats would fight a lot more because they'd both see your flat as their territory and it might stress them. However some cats get along perfectly together in pairs depending on their environment, don't get me wrong, but theres always tension between them we are unable to see. So never think your cats going to be lonely. His beautiful by the way, and lucky to have you!
(oh & PS I've studied level 3 animal care and worked with cats. I didn't just make it up lol)

aw your kitten is so adorable! I got a kitten a few months ago and when we got her they gave us a pillow filled with catnip. She loves playing with it but one time she had it for too long and it got her high and it was the funniest thing.
