Preach it brother! It’s so hard to understand why people continue to believe in false teachings that are easily disproved. Our Father is fair, just, and loving!
Jesus said this For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. Malachi 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. The wicked will be ashes after the lake of fire have done its work. They will never be resurrected again the results of the lake of fire will be eternal.
@@eddiejames9827 so they’re going to be burning forever? Does that really make sense? Rerember god is going to create a new heavens and the new earth the lake of fire will be on this earth at some point the wicked will be nomore and become ashes after the fire has done its job.
if unsaved sinners burn forever , then sin will last forever, regardless of its tormented condition. satan will exist forever. these statements are contrary to scripture
Exactly!!! If everyone who winds up in the lake of fire burns forever, then sin lasts forever, right along with satan, demons and sinners. That would also mean that pain lasts forever as well because anyone burning in fire forever will absolutely feel pain. But the bible clearly says that there will be no more pain. This means that no one (anywhere) would be able to feel pain because pain itself would no longer exist. Therefor, the most logical conclusion is that sinners parish in the lake of fire. To any of you who believe in eternal torture, ask yourself, which one of these two statements is true??? People will experience pain forever in the lake of fire... (OR). Pain will no longer exist just as the bible says. Both of these statements cannot be true.
This I believe is error. Malachi 4 I believe is talking about the judgement of the wicked who are on the earth. Most likely when Christ returns the second time. The wicked will be burnt up like ashes at his appearing. The glory of God will destroy there bodies......It can be translated as this OR it can mean a literal burning up that already took place in Israel History where God outpoured judgement on the wicked and there physical bodies were burnt up. At the judgement of the wicked which is called the second death, the wicked are thrown into the lake of Fire. If Malachi 4 is speaking about that judgement then how then are we able to tread over their ashes in the day the Lord does it? Isn't the devil in the lake of fire too? Wouldn't there be torment there day and night? So what business do the redeemed have walking around in the lake of fire? How can we be walking in ashes if the lake of fire burns forever and ever? We pick out verses but we need to read the verses before or after to get context. This chapter talks specifically about a period of time in Israel History. If we are to believe it has anything to do with end time eschatology then it clearly cannot be the lake of fire because it contradicts everything said about the lake of fire. This scripture does not even say lake of fire. It says in the DAY that shall burn like an oven. The lake of fire is not a day. It is a lake of fire that "torments day and night". Mathew 24:46 speaks of eternal punishment. A person cannot be punished if they don't exist. That cannot be called punishment. They have no consciousness to suffer it. Mathew 13:42 it says they will be thrown into the furnace of fire and in that PLACE there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Why would God resurrect the wicked only to throw them into the lake that they cease to exist after the judgement? There are too many holes in this belief.
except for blasphemy All sin is the same it all gets you sent to hell. Where we will be in eternal torment day and night and people will have no rest and be gnashing and gnawing of teeth.
Robt Clayton sounds like your teaching Luciferinism there. The soul living forever is a lie that came strait from the devils mouth. Read genises and you’ll see.
The Flight Creation Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
The punishment of the wicked dead in hell is described throughout Scripture as “eternal fire” (Matthew 25:41), “unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12), “shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2), a place where “the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:44-49), a place of “torment” and “fire” (Luke 16:23-24), “everlasting destruction” (2 Thessalonians 1:9), a place where “the smoke of torment rises forever and ever” (Revelation 14:10-11), and a “lake of burning sulfur” where the wicked are “tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10). The punishment of the wicked in hell is as never ending as the bliss of the righteous in heaven. Jesus Himself indicates that punishment in hell is just as everlasting as life in heaven (Matthew 25:46). The wicked are forever subject to the fury and the wrath of God. Those in hell will acknowledge the perfect justice of God (Psalm 76:10). Those who are in hell will know that their punishment is just and that they alone are to blame (Deuteronomy 32:3-5). Yes, hell is real. Yes, hell is a place of torment and punishment that lasts forever and ever, with no end. Praise God that, through Jesus, we can escape this eternal fate (John 3:16, 18, 36).

Excellent presentation. Myself, I've seen this truth and others for years now. When I became a Christian in 1974, I listened to and believed most of what was preached to me. It didn't take long for me to realize that there is ALOT of erroneous information and teaching in the main stream religion, and I mean most of them. I started gleaning my information from the Word, and see many things differently, including this. In fact, you are so close to what I read and understand in the Word. It is reassuring to hear you confirm what I have seen for so long. Thanks for your teaching, it helps many brothers and sisters in Christ, probably much more than you realize.
Undying Worm and Unquenchable Fire (NT) Mark 9:42-48 Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, “where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”
Adventism teaches the false doctrine of the "annihilation" of sinners, including Satan and his demons, instead of what the Bible says: an eternal and conscious punishment, for all the wicked, without EXCEPTION, in the lake of fire and brimstone. ! "The devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where both the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night, forever and ever." Revelation 20:10 'And if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives the mark on his forehead or on his hand, This man also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured unmixed into the cup of his wrath; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the sign of his name, have no rest day or night." Revelation 14:9-11 "And they shall go into ETERNAL TORMENT, but the righteous into ETERNAL LIFE." Matthew 25:46 In this verse, for example and following the same logic, does it then mean that eternal life is only for a certain time and then we disappear? All those who rejected God will be punished, but with different intensities. Certainly the punishment of Satan, the beast and the false prophet will be much more intense than, for example, an atheist. But the punishment for all will be ETERNAL!!! So the question is: Are we the ones who decide what God can and cannot do? How can the creature question the Creator? You refuse to believe him because you don't think it's fair?? God is love but he is also just!!

An age is an undefined time in the bible. Well.. if you're looking at it, it eventually passes out of your vision, but.. does it continue to ascend into space, further and further? How long? Forever. Glen Swain even if our days in hell were multiplied so that they felt 1000x longer, this still does not come close to eternity. God is just. He will punish the wicked according to their works. How could it be just to punish someone for eternity for the sins they committed in a lifetime? Even satan who has sinned and caused others to sin more than anyone else will not burn forever. The Bible says of satan in Ezekiel verses 13-19 “Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.” It says he will be brought to ashes and that never shall he be anymore. Not even satan will suffer for an eternity. He will suffer for a very long time, but not for eternity.
Robt Clayton Jesus was telling a parable. The rich man represents Israel who was given so much light from God. So much truth from the scriptures ( rich man feasting sumptuously and yet lived as a hypocrite) And Lazarus represents the gentiles who were starving for truth. ( the crumbs that fell from the rich mans table) anyway, this question of wether hell is eternal or not has no bearing on whether we go there. Only the righteous will inherit the kingdom of God. No one who sins or does wickedness will enter through the gates into the city. So if we don’t want to go to hell, whichever way hell may be, then we must overcome our sins. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Of course, how we answer this question says a lot about who we think Jesus is. Tell me, can you think of anything worse than burning people for an eternity? All the suffering that the devil has caused for humanity over these few thousand years in which he has be free to roam to and fro, pales in comparison to causing the fast majority of all the people who have ever lived ( all the billions of them) to suffer in conscious burning torment eternally. That is not the Jesus if the Bible. All these ideas people have of an eternally burning hell come from Greek mythology and other extra biblical sources. There are far more verses in the Bible which speak of the wicked being destroyed and turned to ashes and never existing anymore and being as if they had never been etc etc, than there are passages which at first glance would seem to indicate that hell is eternal. I would recommend to you that you look up the meaning and origin of the word hell. Now a days when people say the word hell they immediately imagine some dark fiery place under the earth where satan is the leader his demons are given the privilege by God to torment people for the ceaseless ages of eternity. This is a nonsensical view. People often say hell must be eternal because God is infinite and and so any sin against him needs to be infinite as well. Where is this written in the holy scriptures?? So many people who argue for an eternally burning hell have said this. They are just using their own logic. Their own reasoning to come to this horrific conclusion. Only Satan would delight is sadistically torturing people throughout eternity. “Eternity” are we comprehending what that even means? Never ever ending. Kid dies lost and has to be on fire for ever.. That is not a just punishment. Kid will receive same punishment as someone who dedicated their entire life to Killy and torturing and doing all kind of wickedness? People have also said that it isn’t really a punishment if it ends at some point. That the only thing that matters to a man is his current state of existence, and if he were to die and stop existing and stop feeling pain then it is as if the punishment never happened. Do you know what kind of people also share this mindset? Sadists. People who get pleasure out of torturing other people. People like for instance Jeffrey Dahmer who drilled holes in peoples heads to pour acid in there brains to try to make them into zombie slaves. People who trap others down in there basement to torture them also try to prolong suffering because it is the shear act of inflicting pain that gives them pleasure. Where as God says “Ezekiel 18:23 King James Version (KJV) 23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?” God would suffer eternally as well watching the creatures that he loves and died to save suffer for eternity. He punishes the wicked because he is just and not because he will derive pleasure from it or, as many have said when trying to explain the eternal torment of the wicked, as a means of increasing the pleasure of Saved, so they can look on the wicked burning and say to themselves “ well at least it’s not me burning” and by contrasting their existence withe the miserable existence of the wicked their pleasure and joy will increase. This is the same thing that the wicked do everyday here o. Earth. Comparing themselves to others they see as less fortunate to make themselves feel “happy”. This attitude is of satan and of the world.

@@davidsveips Davids, most of the Scriptural passages you quoted here were simply being MISAPPLIED by you, while the others that actually related to the subject matter of "the eternal fire of hell", totally SUPPORTED my position, and totally REFUTED yours. Davids, you just can't take a particular passage of Scripture out of its original context, and then make it applicable to whatever else suits your personal needs and desires. God's punishing "fire" that He sends down on the earth from heaven, is NOT the same thing as "the eternal fire of hell", but you continually conflated the two in your Scriptural quotations here. And the words of Ezekiel 28:19, "you have come to a horrible end and will be no more", are concerning the physical existence on the earth of that person being "no more". And God "kindling an unquenchable fire in the gates of Jerusalem that will consume her fortresses" (Jeremiah 17:27), is actually referencing that God "will set fire to these gates. The fire will spread to the palaces, and no one will be able to put out the roaring flames." But the fire will be extinguished once the destruction of the gates and palaces is complete. Davids, once again, this is NOT the same thing as "the eternal fire of hell" (Matthew 18:8-9), or "go to hell, to the unquenchable fire" (Mark 9:43 ESV) or "into hell, where the fire never goes out" (Mark 9:43 NIV). And the witness of Revelation 21:8 [“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars-their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. If God is truly caring and merciful, why is there so much suffering and injustice in the world? A compassionate deity wouldn't allow countless innocent people to endure pain and hardship. It's worth questioning the nature of such a being when their supposed mercy is so inconsistent with the reality we observe. Also, consider these incidents from the Bible that depict God in a less merciful light: The Great Flood (Genesis 6-9): God wipes out nearly all of humanity, including innocent children and animals, with a global flood. The Plagues of Egypt (Exodus 7-12): God inflicts ten devastating plagues on Egypt, causing immense suffering to innocent Egyptians, including the death of all firstborn children. The Binding of Isaac (Genesis 22): God commands Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, testing his loyalty in a profoundly cruel manner. The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19): God annihilates these cities with fire and brimstone, killing all inhabitants, including women and children. Job’s Trials (Book of Job): God allows Satan to torment Job, a faithful servant, causing the death of his children and loss of his wealth and health to test his faith.

She says I can now have a little happiness before I die because I know I won’t burn forever. She thinks she’ll just burn up and that’ll be it. She is 47 years old. How can the family get through to her?
Well I'll say this. It sounds like she was only in it for the fear, thus has no concept of Christ's love. She is also of the belief that sin, in this case sexual pursuit of the same gender, will "make her happy." Which it might, though not in a lasting way. Does she not want to spend eternity with Christ instead of "burning up?" I mean it will probably still hurt, from a pain aspect. The real tragedy is missing what the God of the universe has created for our potentially infinite future together.

When I was a small boy, my parents taught me about their understanding of the Bible. That isn’t all they did, however. Beginning when I was about ten, they also showed me some of the reasons they interpreted the Bible the way they did. Dogmatism is appropriate for children when they aren’t yet old enough to understand the reasons for their parents beliefs. Dogmatism isn’t appropriate when parents or pastors or evangelists are speaking to people who are old enough to understand how they (the parents or pastors or evangelists) decided how to interpret the evidence. Doug Batchelor has given us some Bible texts that, taken by themselves, seem to indicate that the final end of the finally impenitent will be by fire and that the result of that fire will be their permanent destruction. He has also given us his explanation of several texts that seem to indicate that hell is a place or that it will burn forever. Doug Batchelor would probably agree with Rich Hannon “Most people who think they have rejected God have really only rejected a caricature of him.” It seems to me that it would be even more helpful to explain how people decide whether A: Humans were endowed at creation with conditional immortality or B: Humans have innate immortality or immortal souls. On the other hand, if the Bible is read from the perspective that Earth is shaped more like a ball and that there isn’t anything “under” it, the garden of Eden can be understood as a manicured spot on an idyllic Earth and the goal of the plan or salvation is to restore this planet to a state not unlike the Earth as it came fresh from the hand of the creator - a new Earth. The following is not intended as an argument against the flat Earth doctrine - or the doctrine that hell is a place, for that matter. There ARE some Bible verses which, if taken by themselves, can be construed as teaching that hell is a place maintained by “God” for the punishment of sinners. It seems to me that such a god is “too small” to rid the universe of the terrible blight of sin. I don’t base my theology on Paradise Lost (John Milton - seventeenth century), The Devil’s Advocate (Andrew Neiderman - born 1940), C.S. Lewis (twentieth century) or Doug Batchelor but I think each of them has promulgated some interesting insights into who the devil is and how he operates. Personally, I think the doctrine of an eternally-burning hell is Satan’s favorite doctrine. I think it has turned more people against the God of the Bible than any other one doctrine. So what possible alternative is there to the popular interpretation of “hell”? Most people have never stopped to consider the difference between “heaven” (mentioned often in the Bible) and the “new earth” - Isaiah 65:17 & 66:22; Hebrews 12:26-28; II Peter 3:12 & 13; Revelation 21:1-4. When I find references to “heaven” in the Bible, I think of it as a reference to the atmosphere, the sky beyond the atmosphere or the place from which God sustains and rules the universe. Abraham “sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 11:9 & 10 Jesus said, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2 & 3 John wrote “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Revelation 21:1 & 2 If Jesus intends to take believers to heaven (the place from which God rules the universe), if the new Jerusalem is there now and if it will descend to Earth in the future, does that mean Earth will be the new heaven - i.e. the place from which, henceforth, God will rule the universe? Some people try to put all of the symbols and events in the book of Revelation in order according to which they are found in that book. For me, that method presents too many problems so I interpret the event of Revelation 20 verse 9 as occurring after the new Jerusalem descends to Earth. “And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.” Yes, Revelation 20 verse 10 does say, “ And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Does that mean that the redeemed will forever be able to look out over a burning lake of fire from their windows in the New Jerusalem? Maybe even throw rocks at the devil from the city walls? Or is the language of Revelation 20 verse 10 intended as a reference to the same kind of “fire” that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha? “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Jude 7 (Jude has only one chapter.) If Sodom and Gomorrha aren’t burning today, it is possible to think of hell as an event rather than as a place. On the other hand: A man convinced against his will Is of the same opinion still.

Why do we have the wicked in the Millennium? Is this supposed to be after the Day of the Lord? Timeline doesn't make sense when looking at 1 Cor 15 and the second coming. Hebrews says "we die once then the judgement".
Jesus is gonna save everybody even those in hell. The lake of fire is for purification. No one is destroyed forever or burns forever. They are refined by fire. GOD gets rid of their wickedness not them
It's not Its 20 years Dobt know where he got 14 If you have a young mindset, ur still a child. But it makes no sense that someone would burn for eternity, regardless God is the only immortal, so how does a sinner burn for eternity alive???
There is NO AGE stated in the Bible. The age of accountability is specific and different for every person. It is based on your mental capacity to exercise free will regarding the Gospel. Only God knows when that exact moment comes for each person
One who dies without Jesus as their Lord & Savior, die spiritually dead, eternally separated from God. They eternally are destroyed & perish because God is the source of all life and all that is good and they're permanently cut off and receive the reward of the wicked, the wages of sin
2 Thessalonians 1:9 (NIV-WS) 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might
Well it's either that the presence of God caused the destruction (depending on the translation, the words "shut out" may not be there but it doesn't change the meaning critically), or that the destruction separates the victim from God - by means of not being alive and in the conscious experience anymore.
Having said that, the eternal torment is simply that the condemned will be consciously aware of being eternally separated from God; and everyone consciously makes that choice while they are still existing in their physical bodies.
How clear can the Bible be immortality is a gift for the righteous not sinners but it comforting to know some of my dear friend who don't believe in Yahweh will be put out of misery
„There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.” Luke 16:19-26
Jesus is no liar either. He tells people these things because he loves them. He wants to give you every chance to have a relationship with him and enter into his joy instead: avoiding this place. This also is why he wants us to tell people about him and to warn them about this
R.I.A. A - This is a parable that Christ used. He took the fable that the Pharisees believed and turned it on their heads. Doctrines are not decided by parables, but by God’s Word of truth - via two or three witnesses. You cannot make a doctrine on one verse, and never on a parable. You break God’s word, because there are plenty of verses that say otherwise.
@@Dazzwidd Take the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man literally and find facts for yourself. The Rich Man died, his body was buried but he awoke in torment in Hades....alive! Lazarus dies and his body is not buried! Why is that? He is taken by angels body, soul and spirit to Abraham's bosom in Paradise. Today, are believing Christians taken away (like mysteriously disappearing) body, soul and spirit right at death to Paradise or Abraham's bosom? No, they are not! There are no believing Christians simply having body, soul and spirit taken away to Paradise, or heaven by angels right at death and we are still burying the body of deceased believers in a Christian burial as of today. Jesus never explains why the Rich Man is in torment in hell. Was he a Jew but never obeyed the law, or a Gentile that knew nothing of the Jewish law? Jesus never explains why Lazarus deserves Paradise. Was he a Jew or a Gentile? Why does Abraham call the Rich Man "son" and the Rich Man calls Abraham "father" but no such relationship is given to Lazarus? Why is the Rich Man begging to Abraham for Lazarus to do him favors? Why not ask Abraham himself, or better yet, he should ask favors from Almighty God? Think it through!!
Doug Batchelor. Sorry for the long post. I grew up old school Pentecostal and was scared to death of eternal torment. In my early 30s I had a mental breakdown that caused visual and audible hallucinations. I can’t blame the church for the mental breakdown but with my upbringing I do believe it definitely had an influence on my hallucinations. I also have Scrupulosity OCD that causes religious intrusive thoughts. It was really bad in 2007-2010 but with the right medication and unlearning everything I was told in my life I now believe that annihilation is the punishment for the wicked and not ECT. I’m on the conditional immortality side and that means your immortality is conditional on whether you accept Jesus or not and the punishment for refusing Jesus is death. The punishment of annihilation could be instant or seconds to minutes. I don’t believe it’s going to be a long period of time like we perceive time but it will seem like a long time because of the suffering. Once you study the scriptures from a fresh perspective without having ECT as your primary belief it becomes clear that ECT is from the pits of hell so to say. There are more verses that support destruction of the wicked than ECT but certain people take one or two verses and say look at this one but it can be easily explained. They can’t get passed their traditional upbringing because they believe it’s 100% true and are afraid of being a false teacher or they are afraid of losing their congregation. Chris Date is another person that believes in annihilation Rethinking Hell Is his website and youtube and also Facebook. He’s done countless debates on ECT verses CI/annihilation. This could either bring people to Christ or away because the punishment is death and not ECT. If people want everlasting life then Christ is the only way but the other option is death. Most people don’t want death to be the end and some believe that annihilation is actually worse than ECT. That’s ridiculous I mean Trillions upon Trillions of years is better than a few moments of pain and then being removed forever. There’s the question do you want to die and cease to exist forever or have eternal life. A lot would say eternal life but ceasing to exist would just be that you wouldn’t know anything you’d be gone.
Very interesting Pastor Doug but you omitted one verse which seems to clinch it for me and that is Mark 9:48 which carrying on from previous verse which ends "than to have 2 eyes and be thrown into hell, where the worms that eat them do not die and the fire is not quenched". (The Amplified says where the fire IS NOT PUT OUT!) This has also been foretold in Isaiah 66:24. However I don't expect you come back on to read the comments so you probably won't get this but maybe someone will enlighten me
I honestly had a dream about how there were these interconnecting concrete sewer pipes each having a separate little capsel just big enough to crouch a person in, and the capsle was blocked by a little fence. And I imagined a fire was being pushed through those sewer pipes and crept up on any person trapped in between concrete and a metal fence. It was horrifying. Now every time I look at a huge metal stove or fire, I always seem to picture a person in it! My mind is corrupted at the idea and can't seem to let go!
How is he doing that. Many so called Christians in the past have used the threat of eternal hell to fill their churches. A person who is coerced or threatened to be good is not good and will never be in heaven. God is love, and He wins our hearts through love. There is and never was a need for eternal hell.
Truly God is love but we must not be ignorant that outside of that love, if we choose wilfully to reject our only Savior which is Christ the Lord, is the exact opposite of that Love. If we think we could get away with that eternal punishment, by ceasing to exist after judgement...which is very similar to mere sleeping, we are misleading people to think that the consequences of rejecting the Lord is only done away with the taking out of our consciousness, like a good nap after a long days work. Which i think is a very easy form of payment. God bless you brother. May the Lord Jesus Christ enlighten us with His truth everyday.
Every one reading this comment should read Whatever Happened To Hell? by John Blanchard, printed many times by Evangelical Press in 1993. (336 pp. in paperback, most likely still in print; or find a used copy). That book tells the facts, and I highly recommend reading it.
The parable of the man who hired people to work for him but hired people throughout different hours of the day meaning some work longer hours and some worked fewer hours all for the same pay.
Smooth words for itchy ears to get a UNDERSTANDING of particular verses you gain a UNDERSTANDING by researching those verses by using a concordance for scripture in either hebrew old testament or greek in NEW TESTAMENT not making statements with personal interpretation which may or may.not line up with the scripture being studied
@D Richardson Like you I've tried to make sense of what happens after death. I don't believe anyone literally sleeps before God calls us to him. Scripture says believers in the OT go to abraham's bosom. This location is inside the earth. They call it hades. Some say hades is hell. Nonbelievers also go to hades. This is where the parable Jesus told makes the most sense where the rich man was literally able to see abraham on the other side of the divide. Now when Jesus died he literally went to hades to bring his people to heaven. The nonbelievers are still in hades. Now when Christians die they directly go to be with the Lord. So far this makes sense that God cannot let sinners be in his presence. I believe hades is the place of weeping and gnashing of teeth. Some who had near death experiences witness this darkness. Im not saying all their stories are true. So what about when Jesus returns? The dead and the living who believed in him get new bodies to live with him in Jerusalem. This happens for 1000 years on Earth. It is after the 1000 year reign and the last war that the Father will allow a new earth and heaven to be created. Now will he destroy this earth and reform it? Maybe so.
@D Richardson I learn everyday from different preachers whose doctrine align with what the bible teaches. I know it is hard to change people's minds over youtube. Trust me, your words do ring in their minds to later influence their decisions. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 states the dead do rise first. It isn't for us to understand how this is possible. I believe the souls of the dead who are in heaven will rejoin with their transformed bodies as Jesus returns. Then the living believers will also be transformed and join Jesus. The part I dont understand is if the rapture is biblical. Will Christians go through the wrath of God? Those are scary times.
@D Richardson Revelation claims people are in heaven waiting for God to avenge the fallen. I cannot go along with that analogy you stated. I do understand that we may have to go through the tribulation and all the scary things that are to come. I guess I fear more for loved ones who are not right with God.
I have been struggling with this topic recently. I guess my only question is why would a human get saved, go to church, try not to sin and go to Heaven when they die if they can go on living an evil, sinful, partying life, knowing their time in hell will be very short?

Jesus said this For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Malachi 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. The wicked will be ashes after the lake of fire have done its work. They will never be resurrected again the results of the lake of fire will be eternal.

Especially when it's so horrific and satanic.
if unsaved sinners burn forever , then sin will last forever, regardless of its tormented condition. satan will exist forever. these statements are contrary to scripture

Absolutely true. This teaching is not very popular because it is the truth.
Read revelations 14:10-11 or revelations 16:8-11
except for blasphemy All sin is the same it all gets you sent to hell. Where we will be in eternal torment day and night and people will have no rest and be gnashing and gnawing of teeth.
@charleshines7282 That makes no sense. If the devil wanted to trick us he would say there's no punishment everything will be fine.
It's not popular because it's not true, and people can see a number of holes in the narrative when they read scripture in context for themselves.

One of the main themes of the Bible is repent or die. Not repent or eternal punishment.
Robt Clayton sounds like your teaching Luciferinism there. The soul living forever is a lie that came strait from the devils mouth. Read genises and you’ll see.
There's no eternal punishment for Persons choosing to do wrong / they'll just be destroyed (Prov 2:22)
Jesus never had a son (John 3:16)

Undying Worm and Unquenchable Fire (NT)
Mark 9:42-48
Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.
And they will be tormented day and night, forever and ever." Revelation 20:10
'And if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15
"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives the mark on his forehead or on his hand,
This man also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured unmixed into the cup of his wrath; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb.
And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the sign of his name, have no rest day or night." Revelation 14:9-11
"And they shall go into ETERNAL TORMENT, but the righteous into ETERNAL LIFE." Matthew 25:46
In this verse, for example and following the same logic, does it then mean that eternal life is only for a certain time and then we disappear?
All those who rejected God will be punished, but with different intensities. Certainly the punishment of Satan, the beast and the false prophet will be much more intense than, for example, an atheist. But the punishment for all will be ETERNAL!!!
So the question is:
Are we the ones who decide what God can and cannot do?
How can the creature question the Creator?
You refuse to believe him because you don't think it's fair??
God is love but he is also just!!
@@07silvali states that “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
However in other versions it states: and the Devil, who is leading them astray, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where [are] the beast and the false prophet, and they shall be tormented day and night -- to the ages of the ages. An age is an undefined time in the bible.
In order to clear up this issue we must look at ALL verses in the bible not just this one.
-Malachi 4:1 “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.” (Sounds like destruction to me)
-Malachi 4:3 “And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Are the ashes suffering?)
-Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Notice how the soul is getting destroyed.)
-Jude 1:7 “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” (Sodom and Gomorrha were burned with “eternal” fire and yet that fire isn't still around)
@@07silvali Part 2:
-Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Notice it does not say eternal torture. It says death.)
-2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 “7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power” (It says “everlasting destruction”)
-Psalm 37:20 “But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.” (The wicked will perish. They will consume away.)
-Revelation 21:4 “4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (The bible literally says that pain and sorrow will pass away. It will be gone.)
-Revelation 21:8 “8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (The bible calls hell the “second death”.)

What happened to “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night,...” Revelation 14:11?
- The smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever.. when you have a campfire, does the smoke stop ascending at some point? Well.. if you're looking at it, it eventually passes out of your vision, but.. does it continue to ascend into space, further and further? How long? Forever. Pastor Doug, is God going to rain fire down on the wicked and after that cast the wicked into the lake of fire?
What you wrote really doesn't make sense.
Brother, I know what you're saying. Actually the Bible says something similar to that. I can explain if you would like, I just need some time please
@@MexicanGaming9984, okay, I would like an explanation. I really want to know.
When Jesus come in the air(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) those who dead in Christ they will rise to eternal life this is the first resurrection ( Revel 20: 5-6)but all the wickedness people on earth will be die and their flesh filled with fowls(Revelation 19:17-21)now satan only left on earth that's why he can't deceive nations for untill 1000 years is over(Revelation 20:1-3). But after 1000 millinium is over all the nations (wickedness ) rise again for the resurrection now Satan can deceive the nations to take Jerusalem ( Revelation 20:7-8)and Jerusalem will bring down from heaven to earth then wickedness campassed Jerusalem and Fire came down out of heaven and devour them(Revelation 20:9-14) this second resurrection is a resurrection of all wickedness for second dead.
Everyone please if you really want to know what the bible says regarding hell and heaven please do your homework be well informed!!! Mat 25:41
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Mat 25:46
“And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
The wages of sin is death. And death is everlasting.
The death is the punishment and its eternal death
In the Bible also says that the devil will be brought to ashes upon the Earth so in a sense his punishment is eternal
This passage is clear brother. Why this man does lie deliberately to people ? The SDA is a cult full of errors and lies sending people to hell.
If Sodom and Gomora were destroyed with enternal fire then where is the burning of eternal fire in Sodom and Gomora that we can't see today? Eternal fire mean that fire can burn to death and become ashes then wickedness amd Satan will nomore exist.

TOTALLY agree! Excellent short study exposition. "Everlasting / forever" fire or punishment should be understood in terms of 'DEFINITE or ABSOLUTE' and not in terms of time or infinite permanence. The Lord is deeply serious of the results of rejecting Him and the consequences of not repenting ... but ... still merciful to not have someone suffer through eternity.
Thank you Pstr. DB & AF.
God is love but he is also just!!
what does Matthew 26.24 mean.....if suffering were not eternal...The Son of Man goeth as it is written of Him, but woe unto that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had not been born.”

If you don't take the mark you have more to worry about then buying and selling. You will die! You say 'it'' is required to buy or sell AND stay alive but you never say what ''it'' is? You disagree with ''warpath''...ok, then what is ''it''? Lets not guess. The first step is to ID the beast and there is plenty in scripture to do so. Once you understand who the beast is you will then understand the mark. Let me say this about the mark. The mark has something to do with worship! ''And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would NOT WORSHIP the image of the beast should be killed. Do you see it? Those who do ''NOT WORSHIP'' the beast, whoever that is will receive the seal of God, right? Ok, then one must chose to ''WORSHIP THE BEAST'' to receive the mark. Ok, its simple. Those living in that time...could be us will be required to make a choice..for God or this beast power. If you chose to worship the beast, well lets let the Lord answer..''If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb''.
Robt Clayton
I’m so excited to see Jesus !!!
Where as God says “Ezekiel 18:23 King James Version (KJV)
23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?” God would suffer eternally as well watching the creatures that he loves and died to save suffer for eternity.

The worm is not a human soul it's a maggot eating the dead bodies, a picture of total destruction. Everlasting fire is defined in Jude 7 by the example of Sodom and Gommorah, again total destruction. Luke 16 is a parable about Hades, the intermediate state.

@@bovinththe2nd277 The comma was placed wrong. It should read, "I say to you today, you will be with Me in Paradise." Jesus didn't go to Paradise that day, so either the comma was placed incorrectly by translators (there is no punctuation in the original text) or Jesus lied.

-Revelation 21:8 “8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (The bible calls hell the “second death”)
Yes. This is correct.
Spot on pastor. However there are some texts that seem to hint at such a scenario, and this is the problem.
Means there's no more pain because you're in heaven that's where all the pain is gone you're in heaven but if you're in hell you're receiving all the pain that you can ever imagine
But it would still be a form of suffering, knowing other people were in hell?
Why would God throw death and hades in the lake of fire if the lake of fire is a place of torment? Death is not a living thing and neither is hades so it means eternal destruction

Death=not alive or living.
Eternal life= live forever or alive for eternity.
Eternal punishment or death = cease to exist. The wicked will be punished in hellfire for sometime and will die forever. Only those who are saved will live forever. Even though the soul may live for eternity but the wages of sin is death. God has the power to give and destroy life. Also just. "[He] has mercy upon those whom [He] will have mercy," indicating there are some who do not get mercy. Justice is love to the victims.
If God is truly caring and merciful, why is there so much suffering and injustice in the world? A compassionate deity wouldn't allow countless innocent people to endure pain and hardship. It's worth questioning the nature of such a being when their supposed mercy is so inconsistent with the reality we observe. Also, consider these incidents from the Bible that depict God in a less merciful light:
The Great Flood (Genesis 6-9): God wipes out nearly all of humanity, including innocent children and animals, with a global flood.

I really enjoy listening to you all the time and so does a close family member, but since she listened to you about the wicked not being burned forever she has grasped on to that and though she is a devout Christian, she now thinks she can do her own thing and pursue her attraction to women.
Another issue that those who believe in punishment forever is where in the bible does it state that the unsaved man without God has forever life? So far, I can't find one.

Doug Batchelor would probably agree with Rich Hannon “Most people who think they have rejected God have really only rejected a caricature of him.”

@@philipbuckley759 hell is eternal
@@philipbuckley759 A man convinced against his will
Is of the same opinion still.
For more than a thousand years, the clergy of the Western church taught that Earth was shaped like a pancake and hell was a PLACE under the earth.
The theory that Earth is shaped more like a ball and that it is in orbit around the Sun posed a serious challenge to that doctrine.
Abraham “sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 11:9 & 10
Jesus said, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2 & 3
John wrote “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Revelation 21:1 & 2
If Jesus intends to take believers to heaven (the place from which God rules the universe), if the new Jerusalem is there now and if it will descend to Earth in the future, does that mean Earth will be the new heaven - i.e. the place from which, henceforth, God will rule the universe?
Some people try to put all of the symbols and events in the book of Revelation in order according to which they are found in that book.
For me, that method presents too many problems so I interpret the event of Revelation 20 verse 9 as occurring after the new Jerusalem descends to Earth. “And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”
Yes, Revelation 20 verse 10 does say, “ And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Does that mean that the redeemed will forever be able to look out over a burning lake of fire from their windows in the New Jerusalem? Maybe even throw rocks at the devil from the city walls?
Or is the language of Revelation 20 verse 10 intended as a reference to the same kind of “fire” that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha? “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Jude 7 (Jude has only one chapter.)
If Sodom and Gomorrha aren’t burning today, it is possible to think of hell as an event rather than as a place.
On the other hand:

Is of the same opinion still.

Thanj you for this explanation.

Where is it found in the bible that the age of accountability is 14 yrs old?
It's not
Its 20 years
Dobt know where he got 14
If you have a young mindset, ur still a child.
But it makes no sense that someone would burn for eternity, regardless
God is the only immortal, so how does a sinner burn for eternity alive???
There is NO AGE stated in the Bible. The age of accountability is specific and different for every person. It is based on your mental capacity to exercise free will regarding the Gospel. Only God knows when that exact moment comes for each person
The Torah In the old testament seems to indicates 20 is the age of accountability.
Even if you live for a 100 years burning and be tortured for ions and ions is not just and merciful, loving and God is just and merciful and loving
One who dies without Jesus as their Lord & Savior, die spiritually dead, eternally separated from God. They eternally are destroyed & perish because God is the source of all life and all that is good and they're permanently cut off and receive the reward of the wicked, the wages of sin
2 Thessalonians 1:9 (NIV-WS)
9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might
Yes. The nightmare of hell does not end. These people are deceived. It's almost as if they want a comfort for their sin
@@thomasusheriii971 you're absolutely wrong. The punishment mentioned in this verse "everlasting destruction," not everlasting torment. Destruction.
Well it's either that the presence of God caused the destruction (depending on the translation, the words "shut out" may not be there but it doesn't change the meaning critically), or that the destruction separates the victim from God - by means of not being alive and in the conscious experience anymore.
In Mark, Chapter nine. It is repeatedly stated, "Where the worm never dies."
Having said that, the eternal torment is simply that the condemned will be consciously aware of being eternally separated from God; and everyone consciously makes that choice while they are still existing in their physical bodies.
Wages of sin is Death. You are not conscious

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.”
Luke 16:19-26
Jesus is no liar either.
He tells people these things because he loves them. He wants to give you every chance to have a relationship with him and enter into his joy instead: avoiding this place. This also is why he wants us to tell people about him and to warn them about this
R.I.A. A - This is a parable that Christ used. He took the fable that the Pharisees believed and turned it on their heads. Doctrines are not decided by parables, but by God’s Word of truth - via two or three witnesses. You cannot make a doctrine on one verse, and never on a parable. You break God’s word, because there are plenty of verses that say otherwise.
@Chenyi Bi So you're agreeing with me then? It's hard to tell
I believe in Jesus christ amen as my lord and savior amen
Very interesting Pastor Doug but you omitted one verse which seems to clinch it for me and that is Mark 9:48 which carrying on from previous verse which ends "than to have 2 eyes and be thrown into hell, where the worms that eat them do not die and the fire is not quenched". (The Amplified says where the fire IS NOT PUT OUT!) This has also been foretold in Isaiah 66:24. However I don't expect you come back on to read the comments so you probably won't get this but maybe someone will enlighten me
Yes, it only says the worm and the fire.
I had a dream of the wicked burning in hell. Their faces were enduring horrible disturbing contortions. It was horrific.

Man you are putting false hopes to people who do not accept Christ fully.

Were those your smooth words for itchy ears.
I don't know whether you succeeded or failed.
@D Richardson Bad interpretation. Hell is beneath the earth. God will reign 1000 years before new earth arrives. Where are the lost then? Asleep?
