Does knowing who "potentially" betrayed them changes anything? Are they gonna investigate other people that were betreyed? Is it good to know? Sure BUT lets not forget WHY this man was put in that position in the first place. Had he done it out of greed or hate I would think differently. But it came down to HIS family or SOMEONE elses family (as unimmaginable as that horror might be) and even though we would LIKE to claim we are rightsous we ALL know had we been in his shoes we would do the same. Is like asking someone to choose amongst their children (an impossible choice) and before someone says "well he could have sacrifieced himself" though an admirable feat. Once he was dead there was no garantee his family would have been safe so his sacrifice might have been in vain. We are talking about war here. This was heartbreaking for the Frank family as well as millions of OTHER families, BUT amidst this horrors there were true heroes that WERE able to healp and DID. We don't know if this man did it for certain. That's very important and he is dead. Let us not judge but instead seek to learn from the situation. In war the best of men do the worst of things.
No no no excuses . He betrayed the Frank's like Judas betrayed Jesus. So Frank and his kids and his kids kids should all b put to shame and canceled. Just like the Scarlett letter . Sucks to b that morons relative .
The Frank's may have been his soul enemy's who he gave over willingly..
We just don't know

So sad, but not unexpected...we have friends & confident conversations w/each - learned thru the years that if you don't want someone to know something...tell no one, yet, we do...guess we all need someone we can confide in, w/most precious things in our lives...just sad, really, that as fallible human beings ... we WANT to believe our secrets will stay secret, yet..just such a beautiful & sad story on Anne Frank...thx for sharing..
Don't forget the USA denied Mr frank entry into the USA, twice!!!
"Sophie's Choice". Anyone who thinks they would NOT betray a neighbor to save themselves should as an experiment deny their own children food and water for 48 hours. It's impossible to do such a thing. Any person can be threatened, beaten and starved into collaboration. "He who does not fear the tiger gets eaten.", and tigers are new-born kittens in comparison to fascist.
Is it Donald Trump's Great Grandpappy....
Oh Please let it be Donald Trump's Great Grandpappy !
Only sure for 85% Make sure you wouldn't betray her yourself and don't accuse people unless you're 100% sure .
This is all circumstantial which basically means nothing concrete.
Next up from CNN: Elvis sightings.
Journal had lot of meaning how she her family where going through.Awful how it was back
How did he know that though? Where did this list come from? I thought it was the thief who had broke into Otto's business who suspected someone was living in the building.
I would snitch to save my family from torchure and dying. It's sad, but don't judge him.
Very interesting 👌 keep up the good work cnn! 💪
Don't think I'm heartless. But in those times, under the cruel regime! Ask yourselves, how would each individual react? Sacrifice others to save oneself and one's family!
I think that is a difficult question to answer
The conclusions of this investigation are seriously doubted by a number of prominent historians. Their criticism is that it is based on too many assumption unsupported by solid evidence.
It’s usually the people Next to you, watch out for Ben Shapiro
Ben Shapiro? Why?
@@bryaneverett9850 he literally said any jew that doesn’t practice the faith is not a “real” Jew. Pretty sure that dude will only protect Jews who happen to agree with his opinions
@@johnbrown4949, what is a “thelat”?
@@bryaneverett9850 spellcheck is stupid
I thought it was already concluded that it was Peter Griffin?
Excellent stoked fantastic groovy job on this news report story fellows!!
Her story is a powerful lesson on the evils of hatred, militarism and complicity. But its also a powerful lesson on the beauty of the human spirit and the drive for survival and happiness. I'm thankful for her story. The worst tragedy would be to not learn from it. Good always vanquished evil and corruption.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🥇
You sound like a robot 🤖 pretending to be human. No offense.
Wow the worst enemy is from within
It was that neo-nazi who went back in time.
Anyone else remember that movie?
Seriously, though, what was the name of that movie?
In the Netherlands we are very sceptical about the investigation. They have nothing but a flimsy piece of paper
Rest in Peace my dear little anne!
"The constant use of lies, propaganda, rhetoric..." Sound familiar?
I’m sure CNN will say it’s an ancestor of Donald Trump!! 😂
It wasn’t him it was the one armed man
A Crime agains humalitie
The Germans were out numbered everywhere, France resistance started to clean house without allied forces. Germany had enough of the Nazi's before the war was over its mind boggling how far they made it.
Why would nazis kill a Child, thats brutal .
It's a cold world...bundle up.
To give someone a historical conviction based on circumstancial evidence and logic goes beyond the point that history is often not logical and this evidence in court would definitley not lead to a convinction. Anyway, the power of Anne Frank lays in her words not in who did or did not betray her. In my opinion you also give the betrayal the honour it does not deserve.
Exactly and it's certainly nothing to serve as junk news between the situation in the Ukraine and clips about the latest trump tandrums.
Hey @CNN do an investigation on Operation Paperclip.
Let me guess Trump?
It doesn't matter how bad you feel afrer word's nor the fear you felt everybody was living in fear not just you I would have absolutely refused to cooperate under any form of violent & or torturous interrogation & any kind of threat & if that meant a camp then so be it.
Kids are still in cages
Oh that context makes the idea that the goverment decides who chairs (and that person not being jewish at the moment as far as I get it?) look a somewhat worse
*chairs the assosiation of jews in germany
There IS real difference between computer science and social science. Kung Kwang Kung Kwang.
I was expecting CNN to blame this on Donald Trump too 🤣🤣🤣
Criminal trump loves the nazi
That's what your mother said!
I heard the original diary was written in bic pen with a troll head topper. 🤷♂
It was a Drumpf.
This interview is a lesson in trumpism.
I mean I don’t agree with what he did if he did this however if this is true it is survival and unless we lived the same situation we don’t know what we’ve done presented with the same situation
Interesting wow
Hmm sounds like George Soros.....
They quit inviting Hitler to the BBQ when he burned the Franks.
Stop sorting through her bones and let her rest.
That traitor
Where's Brianna?
Watch the illiterate trolls flood the comments😆😆😆
As you did with this comment ?
This 'surprise suspect' was identified in 1950.
I hope they prosecute him to the highest extent of the law.
Well, I don't see that happening. He already died in 1960
@@aishasch1998 I was being facetious.
I thought the only people who knew they were there was the office staff? How did this Vandanburg person have an address of where Jews were hiding?
Sound like they are trying to sell more books.
BUT most important of all lets NEVER forget who was actually RESPONSIBLE for the deaths of millions of HUMAN beings that had done NOTHING wrong. THOSE are the truly guilty ones, those who used hateful rhetoric against their FELLOW human being.
One is caught up playing the impassioned protagonist in one’s Subjective Narrative of Self-🎈
Where is the vandenberg family today?
Oh snap! Don’t tell Jeff Mangum! He will be taking some heads. Garden heads
... wow a real news story on CNN 👏 ...
Can you please put your covid death tracker up, again. I miss it.
I was always wondering if it was one of the two helpers I didn't think one of them would be miep, but the girl with the glasses are one of the two men,, but who was that guy and how did he know the Franks??
Is Hunter's laptop, or Hillary's server, still hiding in the attic?
CNN says it’s someone in a MAGA hat.
So easy to speak about dead people and point fingers... for profit
It's human nature to do whatever necessary in order to save themselves he has done ugly things out of desperation he wasn't alone in that situation there were others that were doing the same things because they were in hopeless situation
That logic actually justifies the holocaust; here we are, square one.
⭐️⭐️⭐️TRUMP2020⭐️⭐️⭐️
Someone related to Donald Trump?
i dont agree with this because how the HELL DID HE EVEN KNOW THE FRANKS WERE IN HIDING AND WHERE THEY WERE HIDING??!!!! i think it was the burglar that made a simple anonymous call. this makes NO SENSE HOW THE HELL DID HE KNOW WHAT JEWS WERE IN HIDING AND WHERE???!!!!
Well he didn’t actually know who exactly was living in those addresses. All he knew was that there were most likely Jews hiding out without knowing the specifics of the people hiding at those addresses. As the lady mentioned, he couldn’t have gotten information from the resistance groups or some sort of council
Believe it ,
Or not .
Why that doesn't surprise me? a traitor will always be a traitor.
What about ghislaine maxwell and her customers?
