Weeding Tips with HTV

In this video Starla gives a few different methods of how to weed vinyl when it’s hard to see.
The first method suggested is the roll method. All you to do is roll your vinyl the opposite direction to pop your lines. This helps expose your cuts lines.
The next method is the sketch pen method. You just draw your design on your vinyl with a pen before it’s cut. This makes it easier to see and weed after it’s cut.
The last method is the baby powder method. This just helps you to be able see the lines a little better as the powder falls in the cracks. These methods work better on some colors than others.

I can’t see how baby powder is good seeing you heat press it on a shirt later. I’m sure it would affect the adhesive and not stick to its full capability.

Hi, you'd want to wipe it off after you have weeded everything out and then it will adhere just great.

Does the baby powder interfere with the stickiness?

You would only want to use this with Heat Transfer Vinyl. The adhesive doesn't activate until it is heated. So you would definitely want to make sure you dust it all off before applying. If left on yes it could interfere with the adhesion on your project.
