Like Trevor Summers. That was the first pro se case I’ve seen. Of course that was NOTHING compared to DB! And most recently was the Matthew Terry case. We like this judge.
What a clear and precise judge. Its very difficult to come to terms with the depravity going on in the world. I just shake my head because there are no words!
this case seems to be about only one victim. what happened with the second victim? didn't the murders happen on consecutive nights? why is the second one not mentioned? how can he have two 'accidents' in a row, as in how did he explain that one?

he was found guilty of two murders and nine rapes/torture in 06 and sentenced to 200 years. Now after nearly two decades (murders occured in 03) he wants to share the details so he can get the death penalty. He is just trying to get a sentence reduction and/or some prison amenities imo. And he obviously gets a kick out of defaming his victims.
There were other victims who survived and others who didn’t survive.

If he shared the details in order to get the death penalty that's the opposite of trying to get a sentence reduction. As far as amenities, I'm guessing he can buy whatever the max security inmates are allowed to own if he has the money & will likely be locked down 23 hours a day deservedly if he's not already. I agree that he gets a kick out of talking about his victims.

He plead guilty to murder, he went to lengths to get across that he didn't have any issues with the factual findings, he wanted to explain the nature of the situation, the context around the facts more clearly to the court since they were not properly expressed prior, and of his exact relations to the victim and co murderers which would explain why he is relatively unable to identify them.

What a sick and scary and horrific excuse for a human being.
This was terrifying. Watching a total psycopath try to manipulate with every part of his body- even while restricted by hand cuffs. That pause when asked if he was basically a serial killer- was a little too long. Extraordinary to listen to him feign consideration for his victim's memory. Must have been so traumatising for the young victim's family members to listen to the details 💔💔

He talks so matter of factly about them agreeing that the kid would not be allowed to leave. Hard to believe that it was the first time that they had been put into that situation. I am sure the first time it was a wrestle with their conscience. Sounds like they had become numb to those kinds of situations. I find it chilling.

I just stumbled onto this story after listening to an FBI profiler talk about the current case in Idaho in which 4 students were attacked and killed by a knife wielding sicko. These cases always make me wonder how someone can cross the line by turning their super sick fantasy into reality. As if they're ignoring the warning signal in their brain that's telling them Stop! Don't do it. Or maybe their warning signal is defective or missing -- zero conscience. Hard to imagine getting to that state of mind and following through on the worst impulses.

If the whole point is to dominate another person and inflict pain, how do you know when to stop so that something tragic doesn't occur? When the judge asked him if there were other homicide victims the suspect took way too long to answer that question. I'm guessing the answer is yes but he didn't want to dig himself into a deeper hole.
