No matter how this film would be I just like the fact that Rajini is playing his age and still radiating that energy , swag & charm too. I truly respect him for that!
What's I really do appreciate about the film is that he is playing his age. A grandfather who is made fun of by goons as they call him an oldie. A secure lead not wanting to romance girls half his age
@@TriedRefusedProductions pssht
@@vsansanv29101_sdwhy you got hurt he and everyone had critized every film industry on age gap😂😂😂😂
It is not the first time. He did it in kabali, kaala, petta and darbar. 😂
Meanwhile Chiranjeevi is grabbing young actress at pre release events and flirting with them
10 minutes of Shivanna and the screen presence of Shivanna. Wow.. He is a revelation to non kannada movie fans
The Climax had pure goosebumps material. The shot where they show Rajni, Shivakumar and Mohanlal smoking the cigar packed with Anirudh's BGM is lit 🔥🔥
That's not the climax but the scene before it
@@satanshameer690 It's all part of the Climax act
@@satanshameer690 That scene felt more like a wrap up more than a climax. The cigar scene was definitely the climax imo.
@@The_LokiVerse Dude that's not climax
Okk guys it's pre-climax scene...!!
For years i have not seen a mass Mohanlal entry like the one in Jailer, Nelson presented Lal in the most epic manner and Ani BGM just took it to the next level. Goosebumps when Matthew was introduced.
Dude! I can't tell you how hyped I got seeing the way Mohanlal was presented. Effortless style, such swagger, something that has been missing in his lead roles in Malayalam cinema lately
@@TriedRefusedProductionsthe directors in malaylam are butchering him a bit with every film. It's also tough to do justice to both the star and the actor in him. I hope lijo gets it right with malaikottai valiban

@@saddammd-bt2ml have u seen jailer yet.
Happy to see in recent years that 2 biggest tamil starts (rajini and kamal) are taking up and playing their age. No young actress as pair, no unwanted romantic track, playing roles where they have kids and grandkids. Hope this continues.
30 year old actors also play 50 year old in tv
I agree. But, as long as the movie has great writing, it can lead to great reviews and breaking box office records.
On the other hand, you've got Nagarjuna in The Ghost, Ventakesh in F3 and KKBKKJ, and Mohanlal in Alone: they play their age but had a shitty screenplay.
*This is needed by most old actors now a days*
Both had Anirudh as music director.
Bollywood actors should learn from Rajinikanth and Kamal (playing roles that suit their age) especially the khans
Actor Vinayakan who played the villain knocked it out of the park..! His character couldve easily come off as caricaturish..but he brought in the right amount of evil and dark comedy without going over the top,not to mention the screen presence he brings in, even opposite Legends like Rajnikanth..i hope he gets more roles and recognition in the future🎉
He was menacing and truly frightening. One of the best villain roles I've ever seen.
Yeah he was actually scary hope to see him in future projects
He was very scary and menacing in the first half, second half i couldn’t take him seriously at all. His character was ruined
Anirudh has risen to a stage now, his music can single handedly decide the fate of a movie. As everyone calls it, its truly Anirudh era. 🔥 What a BGM, the man is truly in his prime
Dude, I think the advance booking really is indicative of how Anirudh did most of the heavy lifting for the hype. Rajinikanth's stardom is undeniable but the music really developed josh among everyone
Jawan bgm intensifies 🗿
@@TriedRefusedProductions you are wrong advance booking has always been there for rajnikanth films
it is not because of anirudh even for ROBOT AND ENDIRAN ADVANCE BOOKING WAS THERE TOO
for RAJNI FILMS people will spend 5K TO 10K in advance to get TICKET in past
ANIRUD is not reason
@@TriedRefusedProductions I've always been of the opinion that AR Rahman played a MASSIVE role in building Rajinikanth's stardom to what it is today. And now it seems like Anirudh is carrying that baton in his own effortless style!
@@whitephoenix2900 yes ar / ilayaraja and rejni combo was just ✨
The cigar sequence in the climax with Anirudh's BGM was just awesome
It was so nostalgic and well directed that you cant control yourself to cheer in those moments.
Rajni sir carries the charm, style and swag at the age of 72 is just unbelievable.
Even sivaraj Kumar and Mohanlal have not got an intro with this kind of BGM in their industry….. no offence to the industries but this was pure magical from Anirudh
Shivarajkumar has best entry scene in OM movie
See Shivrajkumar's Mufti bro
His latest bhajanrangi also has good intro.
Mohanlal in pullimurugan & lucifer
Mohanlal has got phenomenonal intros in many movies. But I get your point. Anirudh was 🔥
In preclimax, when three trucks collapses and Mohan Lal walks with swag 😩🥵🔥
Probably his best on screen mass presentation in his whole career❤
But the logic ruined it for me. Toppling the trucks with all the antique statues inside confused me
Lucifer was a movie full of Lalettan's charisma and swagger but this one was definitely a top notch equal to Lucifer
@@aravindsamyr9365 to be considered tho😂
@@bchamp262 Yeah I have seen that👍🏻
I always hoped for big stars to do dark comedies. Their charisma and dialogue delivery enhances the comedy. I'm happy Nelson is doing straight dark comedies with enough masala for the masses to make it a commercial success.
I just wish he gets a tighter grip to his screenplays because he really does let go in some instances with gags that just dont land!
@@TriedRefusedProductions Hoo Jammy, you never even read my comments.
When will Chiranjeevi learn
Please point me towards the dark comedies in the movie. Either I missed them or they were too lame for me to notice. I have seen KoKo's and Doctor's dark comedy but this movie certainly lacks them.
Evil evil
Rajinikanth movies are like a festival for die hard fans, irrespective of content and quality, it's bound to be a super hit movie. Rajinikanth is the ultimate thala of Indian cinema, the kind of following he have World wide proves his popularity.
You know they take a very risky route with this film in its concluding moments. I really have to commend them for creatively going the other way.
Have huge respect for senior heroes like Kamal Haasan and Rajinkanth who are collaborating with talented young directors and present themselves in a new manner. Both playing their age gracefully. On the other side,Chiranjeevi keeps on playing these 30 year old hero romancing 35 years younger heroines and doing routine commericial films... Waltair Veeraya was awful and bholaa shankar also seems to be in the same category... Chiru must understand now...
Yeah, as a Telugu movie fan, i have zero interest in most of our senior heroe's films, growing up we used to watch and cheer for them but now they're still stuck in that loop and becoming unbearable, hope they take up some challenging roles unlike how presently most are remakes or e same template movies playing as a 30 year old guy with some insanely good purpose without any depth or emotional attachment
What’s wrong with a hero that plays romance and love with younger heroines.
@@calebmanuel17 because most Indians belong to 15 - 30 age group😂
I don't think Nelson presented Rajini in a different way, there are multiple references to Rajini's previous movies in Jailer. The only thing that is different is Rajini isn't surrounded by groupies who praise him like a god throughout the movie. This was quite evident in movies like Baba, Arunachalam, Annaththe
I might offend someone when I say that I absolutely dislike Chiranjeevi. And the dislike only increased after I witnessed the horrible remake of Lucifer. People like Chiranjeevi are not willing to change the character of their movies according to changing times. Chiranjeevi should give up acting and stay home and play with his grandchildren instead of coming up with stupid movies.
Just came from the movie. What a hype! The movie felt like a celebration of Indian Cinema, with actors from all industries. Will be a massive hit for Thalaiva.
Dude the screeching and shouting! It was so lovely to be there! It would have been ideal if it was a tighter edit but fun nonetheless
@@TriedRefusedProductions What do you think of the twist at the end? Personally I didn't like it and it lowers the quality of the film.

The loud cheers Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Yogi Babu and Kishore received were absolutely incredible.
'Jailer' was a celebration, indeed.
When mohanlal was interrogating his goons regarding his containers, for a moment I thought that he was the big bad of this movie. But the very next scene brought me back to reality. But this got me thinking how epic it would have been if it was Rajni Kant vs Mohanlal.
It was supposed to be Rajnikanth vs Mamooty in this film. Later they dropped this idea.

When the beast movie was heavily criticised, many asked rajini and the producers to drop Nelson. They were afteaid Nelson is going to drag down rajini sir’s fame. But rajini sir told them ‘ no I wouldn’t do that. If I drop him from the project now, after this he will never have a future at all.’ Rajni sir knew so well what are the implications if a superstar as Rajnikanth drop a director. Jammy will thrash the movie under the woke lens. Om film has some scenes which downright displays woman as meat for love making, Men to Men kiss as nauseating and such. I've been excited for this film since it's showcase has released only to discover no cinema hall in my locality (Kolkata) is playing the Hindi dub version. Which is quite strange.
I'm too disappointed not to find a suitable Hindi show. However, i'll be watching it tonight in the Tamil language because afterall, Rajni Sir !
@@karantulshian830 great. I'll wait for some time if they update Hindi shows.
To be frank kaavala created a huge impact in the theatres in South atleast because that's how we are used to Rajinikanth movies, his movies are really incomplete without his iconic step.
Rajni sir really carried the film with some supporting cast, apart from editing as you mentioned, i think Nelson could have done better too but overall its a nice one to watch and cheer for our favourite superstar who is effortless and swaggy even now.
I expect Jawan to have such Theme Song/BGM and songs because Atlee is more Vibrant and not like Dark themed film makers from Tamil like Lokesh, Karthik Subbaraj or Nelson. Those directors extracted well from Anirudh, In Jawan 1st song is quite disappointing and fingers crossed for upcoming songs and theme music.
And also what a performance by Vinayakan...
The fire in his eyes at age of 72 wow.....pure charm 💯💯💯
Rockstar Anirudh Nailed it slayed it Killed it
Its An Anirudh ERA 💯
Was waiting for your review ❤Thankyou😊

Great Comeback for Nelson & Rajinikanth
My fav Nelson movies ranked from least to most
4) Beast
3) Jailer: (Rank wise It looks like Jailer is 2nd worst after Beast, but thats not the case. Nelson only made 4 films so far after couple decades if he produced 10-15 films, the gap will widen. You can tell that by telling the difference between a film with actor's interference and another without it.)
2) Kolamaavu kokila: I loved Jailer but because KOKO is his 1st film and that managed to make it great film with not so famous actors.
1) Doctor: Just like Jailer, Nelson used the cast properly for a purpose (even the character of shaji chen, who assisted in the train fight). The story was well written, I love this movie because it exposes the human nature and hypocrisy. Varuns character was judged by his fiancée and her family that he has no feelings or emotions. But when they faced the situation(anyone who watched the movie know which scene I'm talking about) Varun exposes their double standards.
I love the character arc of the protagonist. SPOILER ALERT
In the beginning of the movie, he chose to save the terrorist instead of an army officer because terrorist knows information and army officer has zero chance to live. Even someone like me who's bound with patriotism will be pissed of if he treats the terrorist despite the logic of Dr Varun. The setup for that scene is to show Dr Varun is Fact over Emotion. Even his Commanding Officer (Milind Soman) acknowledge the fact (because Dr varun did his checkup ) . But Throughout the 2nd half, he need to go against the fact that he couldn't save all kids against Chinnu which goes against his Facts vs Emotion judgment, which led to his disagreement with his C.O . Even in the end, when his C.O rescues him, he admitted to the villain that he wasnt aware of it. Means Dr Varun didnt had any actual plan, he went against all odds to save the last girl.
The ending of doctor was bit off for me, but I loved the film.
Let's see if I change the ranking after some months
I do not agree with you jammy about suneel comedy comments, i thoroughly enjoyed the suneel comedy scenes, theatre was in splits and filled with laughter on these scenes. It was total feast seeing Rajni on big screen. I went to movie just for Shivanna, never imagined going to Rajni movie that too in Tamil language, but i regret for not witnessing this charisma on big screen. He is mind blowing.. Mohanlal and Shivanna took it to the next level. They did outstanding performance accompanied with powerful bhm. Jailer experience was onto next level because of Anirudh bgm, he simply nailed it to perfection... simply outstanding...just wooow goosebumps
