Guys Anupamaa in the background is an intentional gag! I can’t believe people are thinking I’ve actually lost it 😂
nah i don't buy it you are a certified anupamian to me now
Man you have to say this 😂
10:00 no wonder incidents like Manipur violence happen when this practice of parading women naked as punishment is literally on the TV screens… be it cinema reflecting real life or real life inspired by cinema- either way you look- it’s disgusting and primitive.
I totally loved the sarcastic reference of Anupama 😆
Dude... shutup man. You bring up all the age old movies and say "this is not right".. well it is normal then. so just chill dude.
70 years ago woman mostly stuck to kitchen and family life and even before that they are not supposed to have education... we all know thats not right. Don't dig up the past and comment about it.
At this point, I'm just convinced that Jammy will never run out of content for the Matlab Kuch Bhi series!
SATYA VACHAN LOL!
@@TriedRefusedProductions I think even with all the "modern mindsets", the industry is reluctant to step out of its stereotypes, with the big flicks still adhering to the stereotypes.

I don't skip ads on matlab kuch bhi episodes because I want to help contribute for Jammy's therapy because he's going through this for us.
Ayyy, you're the real friend!
@@TriedRefusedProductionsI like ur take on movies bro. But just out of curiosity, I wanted to ask one question
Why does your matlab kuch bhi episodes not have any scenes from SRK or Ranbir Kapoor movies?
Or am I missing something?
Also, u should do some more research while incorporating South movies scenes? Some of them are staged as problematic only from the director's lens itself.
I have YT premium so I don't get ads, will that work? or shall I discontinue it? 😂let me know how I can contribute too !

I felt the same about Jaya Bachchan's character. They have explained every character's back story to explain their current behaviour. And i too, was expecting a conversation of Jaya breaking down and explaining herself to either her son, husband, ranveer or Alia. Just like how Amitabh explains himself in Mohabbatein or K3G
Just wanted something rather than that convenient letter giving away the business
Agreed but it wasn't cringe it was lacking emotional perspective. In my opinion is it did not belong to this video with cringe moment title.
@@TriedRefusedProductions yes but that’s how people like that realistically behave. It would have been more unrealistic and dramatic if there was a sudden change in the character. Just a thought.
I too would have wished too see a more vulnerable side to Jaya Bachchan’s character and not just that emotional letter tidbit at the end. Karan Johar mentioned that some scenes in relation to Jaya Bachchan were cut but will be shown in the OTT version. So maybe some if not complete closure will be achieved.
Exactly. I felt like they just wanted to villanize her, when so many male patriarchs get away with it and it’s normalized
You should list out moments when the censor board was high AF while reviewing movies🤣🤣

I'm glad someone mentioned Geeta Govindam. I found so problematic that scene but till today never heard of mentioning anyone. Thank You. And please watch Raanjhana once and look how problematic that one too.
Raanjhana is probably covered on the channel at the inception of MATLAB KUCH BHI lol
At least in gg he gets repucutinoms for his actions but in most movies it's treated as some kind of romantic gesture
@@TriedRefusedProductions is it Anmol.... Let me check
I don't think it's problematic bcz Heroine was always angry on Vijay for it. That's the whole Vijay Rashmika chemistry in that movie untill rashmika finds that Vijay is good.
Vijay old school mentality is also corrected by Rashmika in the climax. So i don't get what's problematic in it.
She didn't inform the parents only bcz she don't want to give the punishment of Vijay for his sister. Jammy didn't mentioned this in the video.

AH! THANK YOU FOR THIS SERIES! An absolute treat for connoisseurs of cringe 👏🏽

You should watch recent Chiranjeevi interviews. He was openly flirting with Keerthy Suresh and he grabbed her hand and told her we should romantic movies
@@SrikarChahastiyeah I had also seen that interview... Wahi same kisi bollywood celebrity kiya hota toh... Kitna controversy ho chuka hota

Shreya Reddy in Thimiru is one of the best female villains in Tamil cinema. Probably the 2nd most popular among Tamil audiences after Ramya Krishnan's Neelambari in Padayappa (1992). Also FYI, she's the sister-in-law of Vishal, the hero of Thimiru.
Dude those eyes had such crazy madness. The illogical plot line aside, I was so engrossed in her performance! I think Varalaxmi Sarathkumar also channelises the same energy in recent films!
@@TriedRefusedProductionsAfter so many years she is coming to movies.
Her next is SALAAR💥
@@TriedRefusedProductionsEven I spat my food across the table in fear while watching Veera Simha Reddy, when Varalaxmi shouts at her husband as he's about to touch the food 😂😂. Such an intense performer she is.
The way indians love to admire and enjoy such over acting performance in the name of entertainment is cringe in itself!
For real. But Ramya Krishna as Neelambari was not psycho. Just high horsed and arrogant.
Shreya teddy is out right psycho. Like little loose in the brain. My god I was shook watching the movie on my to screen😅
“We don’t count ‘Race 3’…” Hahaha couldn’t agree more.

There must be a Reboot made for Race.
Yes Jammy! You have started to enjoy cringe. Happens to the best of us. You are not alone.
We in this together lol!
anupama is enjoyable for you now 😂
Totally agree with you regarding RRKPK. After walking out of the theatres, the first thing I felt is how they completely villainized Jaya Bachchan's character without any regard for her perspective. It's like they cornered her just so that she can be an egoistic antagonist.
For those who might not know, Sriya Reddy who is seen in the film Thimuru is the lead actor Vishals real life sister-in- law. She is married to his elder brother which makes watching the scene creepy af
I am assuming that this development happened after they were done with the film 😂
With so many people loving Geetha Govindam, I still can't wrap my head around how the whole thing started. They could have begun with literally anything, and the casual treatment of the whole story really boils my blood.
It means u haven't seen the movie properly...where is the casual treatment for that matter in the movie??
Rashmika slaps him.
Ties his hands
Calls his brother. His brother was literally there to kill him.
He escape from a running bus.
Rashmika don't say his name only bcz she feels his sister nd her brother shouldn't be stopped bcz of Vijay mistake.
After that even Rashmika wasn't close to him. She was always angry.
Even Vijay old mindset of wanting a mom like wife was corrected at the end by Rashmika...
So i don't understand where that scene had been taken lightly. Infact the whole movie builds on that scene.
@@mrbme total agree. the way rashmika shows anger on him is whole new level pain for vijay. The movie was good. PERIOD
Bruh, the funniest thing is Shriya Reddy who played Eeswari (one of the most iconic female villains in kollywood btw, her "yelei isukku" is still memorable) became Vishal's real life sister in law lmao.
I agreed with your point at first during the screening of RRPK but I've thought about it and realised that the depiction of Dhanlaxmi is super realistic, and her dialogue "I'm too old to change" I found to be not just a hundred percent true but also, was her 'redemption' so to speak. Shes admitting that she might be wrong but that's the closest she can come. Some characters can only have some development I guess.
If Karan had presented a moment of admission of guilt, it would have taken away from this idea, that not every person wants to change and is capable of change
I actually did not seek for any form of redemption for her. My issue was that the stoic demeanour at least regarding her own marriage is a front to keep the business running. A loveless marriage stems from something. I don't want her to come out as a loveable character but at least having the ability to vent behind closed doors with her husband, that the union is a two way street and that it was not easy for her too
@@TriedRefusedProductions But in the story, she was the first one to not accept her husband as he was. A poet rather than a businessman. She was cold towards him first and then he had an extra marital affair. They both found their own ways to cope up with their loveless marriage. While she took on the business, he took on the affair. and they both became who they were in the present day and eventually she became too rigid to change or didn't see any point in venting out because she had been silent for many decades already.
Anupama playing in background clearly depicts that after getting through so much.I think his taste is slowly getting changed.I won't surprised if jammy will be doing reviews on seema haider like the greatest critic on this planet.
Edit:-And what is making me more worried is that I will be watching even if he does😭
Okay Seema Haider news is where I draw the line! THAT cannot be happening here lol
The bhagya series is a lower level you're yet to reach 😂
@@TriedRefusedProductionslappu sa sachin hai jhingur sa ladka, kya hai sachin me😂😂
Oh did I just body shame someone.
Oh, these toxic movies have completely ruined the concept of love and how to approach women in my growing years. Thanks to GVM for educating the 90's born male kids regarding these matters.
I think they had a longer dhanlaxmi backstory.. But a dhanlaxmi and kawal conversation.. Where she thinks he's out of it and won't remember anything and her taking her heart out and at the end dharam ji just apologising for his absence as well.. 👌💯💯
Like you could have given me anything! There is a point where she has to be more than just the one dimensional arrogant person. She has so much built up emotion and resentment that deserved to be expressed somewhere!
@@TriedRefusedProductions I just watched rrkpk and would like to share my views on this point too. I think its rightly portrayed that she did not have her moment of any realisation or venting. Because that is very real life like. If every character had had developed it would be just fictional like "oh it is a movie and movies end happily ever after".It would have left a perfect life and happily ever after effect which in reality is not true rather people and families have imperfect people and grudges they all just manage together. Especially when it comes to old people its not very real to admit mistakes or say sorry have guilt so many old people they carry trauma from their time as well as patriarchal rules which they amend accordingly to their surroundings but not necessarily accept on ammending it. Small instances of these things can be seen in our normal Indian families. Alot of times mothers/wifes they just accept and live like that and I've personally seen my father accepting the changing society not on face but because we don't leave any other choice. Same happened with Jaya she knew its not possible to change now she has nothing left on her but she can just go on with whatever is happening.
Edit: Also to add, by the end of movie I didn't considered Jaya as villian so I don't think she needs to be termed one she just had her patriarchal rules and her owning of business and being the head of house just added more dominance on her character. She was not a villian but a product of her own upbringing which doesn't need to have a heartfelt backstory. Cause in reality people are just like this alot of head people of families are like this without any back story. Alot of mother in laws are like this and in countries like us there are alot of loveless marriages so for me its completely okay to for once see that no not everyone is perfect but always on scale/scope of development.
Fun Fact: Vishal (who played Lead in Thimiru) later became Sriya Reddy's Brother-in-law after she married Vikram Krishna (Older Brother of Vishal) in 2008.
But she was good in terms of performance
@@prathapreddy4079 Indeed. She's a Good Actress.
Thank you for mentioning Geeta Govindam! I did not understand how people liked the movie. It was so infuriating for me that the hero is shown as a guy who has sanskaar and all - but doesn't understand what private space is.
The creepiest thing is an act is not independently wrong or right, it depends on who does it. If the villain does it, the heroine is dusgusted by it (which she should obviously feel) and the hero punishes villain for it. But the hero also does same act many times in the first place (which he shouldn't have done bcoz he is the morally right person) & the heroine likes the act, sometimes falls in love due to that. Its so wrong at so many levels.
I remember 1 of Main tera Hero, Varun first spanks Jackeline on the ass and then kisses her at a shopping store not even at a personal space, after that she falls for him, my god what will happen if youth get inspired by such kind of acts😵💫😵
I agree on your take on the problematic tropes. And the movie you are talking about Judwaa 2
@@TriedRefusedProductions 😂😂 yeah right, my bad -Judwa 2. I don't know why, but both the movies appear quite similar to me, similar slapstick cringy comedy, Varun's same character, and similar tropes!
Films are the biggest impression maker. And youth do get inspired by it. I saw a heroine who was telling her co actor miss behaved with her so she slapped him, in turn that co actor also slapped her. And ppl were commenting that this is equality. So u disturb a girl and she slaps u, in turn u should slap her, surprisingly many ppl had this mindset in that comment section. Tells us that youth is damaged by seeing these films which are full of masculinity 🙂
@@itsmedip1406 its not masculinity to trouble someone.
@@kvtechvarshney5179 there are less number of films which shows unnecessarily a heroine beating the hero. It won't be acceptable by those audiences. While if the reverse is done, people do enjoy it. I have seen it many times. This is where masculinity tops in films.
I agree about Dhanlakshmi, the first thing I said after leaving the theatre was we never got her why for being so bitter, and it's not hard to just fill in the blanks but it left something to be desired when we didn't get to see her as a human feeling other emotions beyond taking an ego-trip or the like. Though, I did come across a theory in my voyage to catch as many reviews as I could that since the makers didn't want to redeem her they shied away from anything that would make viewers sympathetic to her.
Also, thank you for for the series!
You should read about the Alluda Majaka movie controversy, communists and the Hindu nationalists demanded a ban on the film as it contained a number of scenes portraying women in an obscene manner. CBFC called back the movie after 3 months of release and made cuts to objectional scenes. There is a thesis written on this controversy. Megastar Chiranjeevi fans went on a hunger strike when CBFC was considering a ban on the film. It's very interesting to read about Telugu cinema evolution.

@@prathapreddy4079 Its sad that Chiranjeevi being an outsider launched so many ppl from his family which no family did in Telugu.
Hey Jammy. Thank you for bringing up the character Dhanlaxmi in this video. I was quite happy to see that they shared her "origin story" in the beginning to help audiences understand why she is the way that she is, and maybe even empathize with her. While some people were able to hold on to that, others forgot about it and it would have been nice if her character had also had a chance at redemption of some kind. I think in a recent interview, Karan Johar also admitted that the one incomplete character arc in the movie is that of Jaya Bachchan's character.
Anyway, this is always a fun series to watch :)
You made my day Jammy!!!❤❤ I d been suggesting Thimiru for such a long time! Thank you for including this gem where it belongs... 😊😂 but am also so happy you liked Shriya Reddy's performance.. She is one of the best female nagative characters after Neelambari in Padayappa.. I never understood why being slapped by the hero always made heroine fall in love with him.. The sheer number of 80s movies that has this trope is mind boggling... 😢
Hey, Your comment especially stood out for me! So thank you for the suggestion! Tho I need some time to get over the absurdity I saw lol
am so happy to have helped you here! 😂.. On a different note- you should consider doing a MKB segment based on "double meaning lyrics" - am sure these are there in all languages.. But my 'inspiration' for this idea especially comes from Tamil songs... 😢 some of them seriously ruined my childhood.. And definitely deserve a place in this segment.. am sure you'll never run out of content here...
@@matangimawley HAHA the research will be on!!
Hey jammy, about Dhanlaxmi’s character in the movie, I think it was pretty natural because I have literally crossed path with someone like her and it’s very normal for people with her character to hold on to their ego till the end. I personally found it very realistic.. a sudden change and softening of heart would have been more unrealistic I think. But that’s just my opinion based on the real life experience I have with someone like her. She was shown as someone who only cared for herself more than anyone else.
Actually my point with the film is not me wanting a change of heart from her but actually a one on one vent session at least with Dharmendra about her experience in the marriage and why she took the stoic stance. Of how she felt unseen too!
@@TriedRefusedProductions but that’s the thing.. people like the character shown do not bother engaging in that vent or a one on one. Their ego is too huge to even do that. She had a very narcissistic/ psychopath trait where everything was only from her perspective. At least that’s how I saw it. But it’s interesting to view it from your perspective too. 😊
In my 90s childhood, if any cringe scene like this comes before family, i used to rush towards TV and change the channel with knob. in 2003, when first color tv came, remote was always ready. My father used to say "che che.. these movies.. change the channel". experiences with cringe is very relatable.

What you say is very true about Jaya ji's role in the movie Rocky aur rani ki prem kahani. I don't understand why she was made the ultimate villain while she made the ultimate sacrifice on top of which this family was built. All the wealth, the luxury and the lifestyle, the family is able to afford was built because of her hardwork and discipline. There was no reason to have made her so insufferable. All strong women are mostly shunned upon by our society - since either they don't understand them or they can't stand their ability to wither any storm - that could be the director's reasoning for making Jaya ji's character the way he did - it is quite unfortunate.
My heart went out to her thru out the movie - she also suffered from a loveless marriage just as much as the others. Why were they glorified and why was she not? She was forced to take on the reins of running the family since nobody else were upto it. That should not be the reason that would provoke so much hatred.
Finally somebody said the problematic scene from Geeta govindam and give a positive view about Jaya Ji's charector from RRKPK
Best thing is to wait for your new videos you are an absolute genius

Totally agree with your take on RARKPK! Also, if what happened in the movie were to happen for real, it is disrespectful for Jaya to watch her husband kiss another woman in front of her. They basically endorsed having an extra marital affair. If Jaya knew about her husband's affair, she would have had the option to leave him.. but what she gets instead, is her son and his family bashing her for not keeping the family together and making ends meet. The story telling was too one sided and I think Alia's character was responsible for that black and white perspective.. atleast ranveer's character had some layers
Thank you jammy for handling this much torture maybe more than this 😅😂😂

This Jaya Bachchan observations were made by me too when I saw the movie. Every character in this movie got a graph and history but hers was just shown as an evil woman. It would be great if her evolution was also shown.
In Telugu 80's and 90's saw a rise of commercial cinema catering primarily to labour class. This was also the period where Telugu cinema's art declined on mainstream cinema and Bollywood's commercial cinema influenced South industries. Thankfully Telugu cinema is going back to content.
love the arsenal clip in the beginning. cheers on the community shield
Its the happiness before the misery starts lol
Hey Jammy, I like your content a lot and it is really aligned with someone like me who is a movie buff
and I like headphone as well, which brand is it ?
That was good intro bro😂
😅
I also think in Rocky Rani, they should've explored Jaya Bachchan's character in a better way. This could be because they didn't have the time to explore as the movie was lengthy enough or to showcase how Alia's character will be the pioneer of change in Ranveer's family. Either way, Jaya Bachchan's character didn't deserve what she got as she was suffering as well due to her circumstances.
Just thank you for including that vintage playlist 🤣🤣 I was searching for last week didn't know it was released on the saregama channel 💜
Hi Jammy this is Abhigyan here and I like your videos especially on Analysis of Indian cinema and I know you are busy on making on other videos too if you get time then can you make a videos on why we didn't get to see two hero movies or Multistarrer starrer today like there was in 70s-90s movies or why male actors are insecure to share screen with each other
Jammy, they did have the letter scene that Jaya's character addressed to Alia's character right. I felt that it was a decent closure, because Jaya went so far in making life hell for everyone else, it can't be just fair to just let go of it immediately. But I did feel it would've been a slightly better closure if she had been there in the climax wedding song, sitting a bit far from the close family, with some of the guilt she'd be possessing. As a first mark of acceptance, ranveer and alia would go to her to seek blessings, but then she apologies similar to how Amitabh Bachchan's character did with SRK in K3G. Fin. 😂
I hope you saw Karan Johar's interview with Sucharita where he acknowledged the same about the character DhanaLakshmi and said that they some how managed to give arc to the character. What you said also bothered me after I watched the film

Was that Anupama or some such thing on the TV in the background? LOL Jammy, you sure know self torture!
The other WTF moments can’t be in same video as Rocky aur Rani ki Prem kahani ❤small suggestion
Rocky aur Rani had several problematic moments. The glorification of cheating and justifying it by saying the partner was abusive is laughable. Get a divorce and then pursue your romance. Kissing your lover in front of two families and calling it romantic is just gross! For all the amazing moments in the film, Jayaji was given a very poorly written character.
I think she chose the character of Dhanalakshmi to show the audience why she behaves like this in real life. She has endured a similar kind of betrayal (actually more toxic) from her real life partner. And like in this movie, in real life too, audience praise the man and his mistress and blames the wife for being aggressive. It's not always her ego, it's how she copes with the situation. She needs a partner who will love her and can be trusted, in both reel and real life.
Jammy never compromised with this series continuation.
We ought to treat jammy with some good stuff because of the things he watches for us 🤣❤❤
In these busy days of content overflow, Jammy still managing to take time out for "matlabkuchbhi" shows his commitment for this series. I hope it continues like this in future.

Hi Jammy, we really need a separate playlist for all the matlab kuch bhi videos. It is hard to search for them separately in the channel library
The thimiru movie plotline could be silly, but its that bit exaggerated reality of the how one from that region and mannerism, could have behaved in so called movie, so still fine with it.
