Took my seat out today to install the kit to stop the seat from rocking......I will say this..........having a convertible sure made lifting the seat out much easier................
Hi there! I am doing a C5 Seat video and would like to use 1-1.5 minutes of footage from your C5 Seat videos. I would be sure to give you a nice plug in the video - would you mind? Thank you! T4L
Little late but did you ever weight these seats with the mounting bracket? I can't find that info anywhere. I dont want to add weight to my car as the stocks are already light.
@@Team512 thats is part of my concern. I have a z06 and the seats combined are 69 pounds. I'm hesitant on purchasing these seats as I dont know if they weigh less than that or more.
No problem. Glad you found it helpful. This was the best upgrade to the C5👍You can definitely shim the seat bolts so its raised higher from the floor pan. I would caution going too high tho. You could risk the safety of the seat bolts as you’d put more torsional force on them. Especially during an impact.
Saw them in one of your vids. They look great. The LG1s appear to have a bit better bolstering than the Evo’s. I just wanted something easy to install that was an upgrade over the stockers. Oh yeah, and red stitching!
What about the seat belt buzzer? Does it still work (not that I want it) or is it now disabled with no ill effect? Best video I've seen on installing these, by the way.
Thanks for the kind words! No issues with the seat belt alerts at all. I just left the wiring disconnected for the power function under the seats. These have been awesome seats and have held up extremely well. 👍
Thanks! The seats have been great. I've had them in for a few thousand miles and they've held up well. They're comfy for trips that last an hour or so. What color is your C5? Are you considering the red stitching?
Hi Scott, yes definitely Red stitching as mines Black exterior and Red just adds to the look. Then I need to think about getting a cam done, but that's going to be next year, when I get the confidence to do it.
The cam will be a fun project. From experience, find a good tuner. The driveability and fun factor is relative to the tune. That's where the magic happens!
Great question. I was concerned about this as well. I'm happy to report no lights at all. I thought I had an issue with parasitic drain on my battery after the install. Turns out the battery was a bit lower than normal because of the extent of time I had my doors open while filming and installing. Let me know if you have any other questions. I should have part 3 with my initial impressions up this weekend. Overall no complaints. Really enjoying these seats.
@@Team512 awesome thank you very much for the quick reply....I'm looking at these seats for my c6z and saw a guy with a C6 that had a few wiring problems and had to get "air bag simulators"
I think I saw that video too. My C5 only had one harness that plugged into the seat control module and I just left it unplugged. I think C6's have a few different plugs, don't they? If so, this might impact your results. @@SStripp3d
You might also want to try contacting Corbeau directly with your question. I reached out to them with a few questions of my own and they were quite helpful. They’re based in the Salt Lake City area. You could also try contacting online vendors and or local installers that sell these seats and ask them too. They would certainly be more familiar with the install in a C6.

I do miss my 99 Nassau Blue coupe, but I'm loving my 2006 LeMans Blue coupe :)
great info, thank you sir !
how do you like the seats? how have they held up? do you recommend them for a daily driver?
Look very good thanks
Thanks!

Go for it! Thanks so much
@@Team512 Thank you sir - I appreciate it!
do you have to pull the fuse for the driver seat?
Where did you get those seat base from? Did you have to modify those?
How much lower do you sit in these seats vs stock?
Situations such as these where I'm glad I have the removable top. Lol. Great vid. Doing this right now!
👍
Thanks man! Good luck and enjoy the install. You’re going to love this mod.
Put these in my C5, thanks!
John Lingsweiler Did you get a set? They’re awesome!
@@Team512 Yes I did. They have really changed the look and feel of the car for the better
Totally agree. It was one of the best upgrades I’ve done to the C5. 👍
Is there more head room with these seats?
I have quite a bit of headroom even with a helmet on 6’2”
Great video! How about C5 coupes, do the electronics hook back up to move base forward and back? i know they dont recline
Unfortunately you will lose all power adjustments.
You can plug the seat control module back in… you’ll only lose the power seat adjustment. Oh well it’s slow anyways.
Great video..brilliant looking seats..in the worlds best sports car..cool.
Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment! The seats were a nice upgrade to an otherwise superb vehicle.
Great video, how are the seats holding up? Thanks
Thanks! Holding up great. Still look brand new.
What size socket was it you used to remove the seat belt receiver? I’m having some trouble removing that ! Without stripping it

Great question! I don’t remember weighing them, but they are definitely lighter than the stock seats that were in my FRC. Those things were heavy!

I would call Corbeau and ask them directly. I talked with them once or twice.
Thank you for this review, is there a way to raise the seat up, I am 5’9 but I would like the seat to be higher If not the same that the stock seat is

I almost did these but ended up with lg1s. Love the evos!

Love the look of the seats. Looking to purchase the same seats early spring ready for the time to bring her out again 😎

No air bag light or anything on the dash?

@@Team512 that's a great idea that I actually didn't think of!!.... Thx man 🍻
Are the Corbeau Evolutions reclinable?
They are fixed back seats. I find the driving position to be quite good. Are you considering them for a C5?
@@Team512 I'm considering them for a 2010 Lancer but I need ones that recline. How about the Corbeau Evolutions?
Not sure about the Evos with the recline function. They wouldn’t fit as easy in the C5.
Excellent review! I have been researching seats for my 03 C5Z06 and I think your video sold me on the Corbeau Evo X's. Keep up the good work. Sub'd.
Many thanks for the thoughtful comment and the sub! They really are great seats. And the install is without much hassle. 👍
I'm over here struggling with the exact same seat to fit in and this guy just drops his right in wtf
