I really liked Victor in this episode. Unlike a lot of people on the show, he knew that he had a problem and went and got help himself. He admitted he had a problem which is quite challenging and was willing to make changes.
That is a huge step forward for him, there’s no question that it wasn’t easy, but the fact that he took the bull by the horns and willing to learn, that’s amazing. I also wonder why the doctors/experts don’t look into Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (known as ARFID) which is when someone limits the amount or types of food one eats.
One key element for alot of these people that started this as kids is the parents admitting they allowed them to eat what they wanted and fostered their behavior.

Honestly, finding safety in unhealthy foods is something I and others with mental illness/disability can understand. "Safe" foods are real, and they can hurt more than they help. It's a struggle.
Well yeah it’s good that he’s able to force himself a little further, but for all of these eaters this isn’t just pickiness, it’s genuine obsession and for many a fear of eating anything else. It’s compulsive and a habit so deeply engrained that it’s a physical addiction, in which their bodies go into actual withdrawal. It’s also worth mentioning that HE himself reached out, whereas for many of these eaters, they aren’t the ones asking for help, their relatives or friends are, so they’re less willing because they’re being a little more forced to admit to the problem rather than deciding they have a problem themselves.
My husband did this. He got bigger and bigger. He couldn't tie his own shoes. He's almost died multiple times from not taking care of his health. He expects me to care for him after all the years of not taking care of himself. Please run girl before you're in as far as I am. It doesn't end well. You will raise the kids on your own and be the only one working parenting and his caregiver because he choose this path for your family.

I felt bad for his wife I know how much it hurts when someone doesn't eat the food that was made for them or a family member I went through that with my adoptive brother when I would help my adoptive parents make food and sometimes my son dose it to both me and my wife which dose hurt her as well
These shows make me so so grateful that even though I enjoy particular foods as much as the next person, that I at least have a decent variety of what I eat.
