Watercolor is such a challenging medium! I'm used to painting in oils so i just want to apply the color. Yes, i work in layers, but watercolor is such a delicate process and takes patience!
@@kayyoung4023 well, it's what I started with, so maybe that's why. But if you make mistakes in oil, you can always cover them up and you can't tell. Watercolor is so precise in the planning, to allow the light to show, rather than adding lights whenever.
Thank you so much for a truly helpful video. Watercolor is so challenging....I sometimes think I should have my head examined for choosing to pick it up!
I am very fascinated by the choice to use yellow ocre. I wouldn't think pigments with any opacity would work for gold, but that's why I'm watching tutorials lol I love the texture of the final product! I love how the bells isn't perfectly polished but isn't scuffed either.
Excellent lesson. How did you manage to paint such straight lines, strings on the guitar ? I am doing a painting of a cathedral, not able to know how to paint thin lines, as well curved shape of dome interior. Please help.

@@RebeccaRhodesWatercolorArtist great video, btw! Very helpful!
Are Oil Paints easier? I paint in Water Colours and thought Oil would be harder.
