So used to seeing smaller scale replicas of real vehicles but rarely the other way around. That Tamiya pick up certainly looks the part.
I was never particularly taken by Subaru's Impreza back in the day but always liked the look of the Legacy and I bet the flat six sounds great too.
The Panda 4x4 could well be a perfect daily run about and every bit as useful today as it always was.
Don't think I've seen an R50 before, I did seva Passat R36 a few years ago which is also a bit of a unicorn.
I remember those Pajero/Shogun with the Motorsport livery. Even the standard SWB shogun I remember being very much the lifestyle statement vehicle of its day with abilities to more than match it's rugged good looks. That Range Rover looks very tidy, as you say they were a bargain off roader die so long and often used and abused in the past.
Love the 3dr Freelander, a pretty popular body style at the time along with cars like the Frontera, Discovery, Vitara and RAV4.
Sierra 4x4 is nice to see being that it's not one of the sportier 4x4 versions of the Sierra.
The VW van is probably one of the most interesting 4x4 and such a practical vehicle.
That Audi A4 is probably the last of the Audi that I really liked and so much more elegant than the current line up. A well appointed quattro estate would have been a well thought out purchase back then when the majority were still putting their money into.a 3 series.

Thanks Mark, a really surprising selection of vehicles. I was very taken by the Tamiya pick up too as well as the Mitsubishi Pajaro/Shogun Evolution, they both look so fit for purpose.

Living in a city I dont need a 4x4 but if I need something to combat the ever increasing number of potholes it would be the Fiat Panda. Easy to park and steel wheels. The latest versions have all the toys.
I guess people who own 4x4 accept they own a car which weighs more, costs more to purchase, costs more to service and uses more fuel than a 2wd car yet most if not all the time it uses the same roads and does the same job. Still, each to their own.
Thanks for the video Simon. Enjoy your Xmas break. I have already booked myself onto a couple of events for 2024 ( German cars only !) so hope to see you out and about with the Mercedes.
    Happy Xmas

Evo IV GSR. Previously rallied quite a few times and re liveried last night just for Bicester ☺️
And I certainly don't share any genes with Tommi.

Thanks for clarifying… it looked brilliant, not like you had just finished it!
