You got to love Spielberg's reaction! Despite changing the box-office landscape at 27, he only received Oscar recognition in his late 40s. Seeing young filmmakers who grew up watching his films win, for a delightfully weird science fiction no less, is one of Spielberg's greatest legacies.
Also the fact that his film got completely shut out despite a very respectable amount of nominations, but him not caring. It's impossible to not love him.
Just like when Scorsese and Tarantino lost to Bong Joon Ho. They didn't mind because they've spent their entire careers praising international cinema and promoting it to American audiences.

I didn't really know about this movie or A24 when it came out and only saw it about 7 or so months after its release. When I finished watching it in my nieveness I emailed them asking if they had a position available for an intern. I have my BA in Film and my professional goals would be fulfilled if I was able to be the intern of an assistant working on a movie of this caliber
A deserving Best Picture winner. This film is AN EXPERIENCE, maximalist art turned a notch up to volume 11.

There’s something so beautiful with the look on Ke’s face when he hugged Harrison and the cheer he made.
I'm so glad this film took Best Picture. Not since Return of the King have I seen a film so worthy of winning the Best Picture oscar. And phooey to every single goofball who said this movie sucks. But to be fair, if there is any other nominee that deserves to share the Best Picture win with EEAAO, it's Top Gun: Maverick.
They almost won all oscars At once
Oh my , to see Ke Huy Quan and Harrison Ford sharing a hug is PRICELESS .
I just finished watching it now mind fucking blowing!!!!! What a masterpiece!!!! The best film I've watched in these past years. It had everything it brought me so many emotions. What genius creators and brilliant actors n actresses.
Movie of the decade. It took so many risks and won at the end.
moonlight and EEAAO will be selected in national film registry before they turn 20 years old the impact that those movies is insane for black and Asian Americans
Cried a lot and laughed a lot watching this film. Very relatable too.
This is genuinely my favorite of all time. It’s just so amazing and it really changed my perspective on a lot of things. I’ll die defending EEAAO, people who don’t like it just didn’t understand it.
Am I the only one who thinks it took Harrison so long to tsay the full title because he had to steady his voice?
It was probably because he knew all he had to say was “everything” and everyone in the room would know that the film had won. Which is clearly the case as they start clapping the moment he says the first word. So he slowly finishes it like “well, i don’t need to finish saying it, but I will.”
This movie is my everything
I bet all of the movies that was nominated are won the best picture award in other universes :D
Look at Mr. Ke Huy Quan, I believe he never imagine that night 😂
May I know the background lady voice? Is she the same person in Oscars 2017 La La Land?
I love her tone so much ❤❤❤
As per Geeta there are infinite birth death cycles , Parallel existance of us in infinite parallel universes and to free from all these cycles only Mokha(Liberation) is the ultimate path.
What EEAAO movie shown is about one concept called parallel existsnce. Why living with love is important and not to forgot ones own Dharma and how it affects not only in one existance(like here) but also parallel existances
I love the Daniels so much i'm so excited to watch the star wars skeleton crew episode they directed!
In 2017, A24 won their first award for best picture (besides la la land) (but both features owned by lionsgate)
in 2023: this is their second win of the night. both BEST MOVIES ever!!!
A24 ROCKS!!!
Thank God for A24's Moonlight
I think the speech is great to comprehend
Oscars 2017 Moonlight vs La La Land
