    I love this film. This is not a film that was made in a lab to win Oscars. It wore its weirdness on its sleeve and told an emotional story at its core.

      I totally agree with you. I love that the movie and the actors started and finished with movie with no expectations of the amount of awards they have received. Unlike a lot of the movies that were released closer to the awards season, this movie was released early in 2022, with a lot of the moviegoers finding about it via social media and word of mouth. It’s incredible, the dialoue beautiful, the music amazing, the editing crazy good and the performances are nuanced and shows the performers’ range.

    You got to love Spielberg's reaction! Despite changing the box-office landscape at 27, he only received Oscar recognition in his late 40s. Seeing young filmmakers who grew up watching his films win, for a delightfully weird science fiction no less, is one of Spielberg's greatest legacies.

    I still consider it an absolute classic. It is the 13th film to win 7 Academy Awards(in line with classic films like Schindler’s List, Out of Africa, Dances with Wolves, Lawrence of Arabia and The Sting). It is only the third film to win three Academy awards for acting(after A Streetcar Named Desire and Network). "...and to my dad, who worked himself into an early grave like so many immigrant parents, I know that he would be so proud of us. Not because we won this award, but because we made this film with the values he instilled in me: that people are always more important than profits, and that no one is more valuable than anyone else regardless of their fame, fortune, or power. I'm always in awe of Oscars sometimes making bold decisions in giving the best picture to a movie with zeitgeist. Everything Everywhere of course isn't perfect, but it's a direct indicator for how desperately the industry wants something original, fresh and drawing young audience besides franchise, horrors and animation. I think that's why many were voting for it and it won🎉

    • @RCC_1
      @RCC_1 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand, but I believe external factors shouldn't affect these awards votings. They are voting for the best, not for trends, not popularity, not what they like the most, not skin color. These biased choices will only harm the awards themselves.
      I personally don't think this movie was the best at all in any category except Supporting actor.
