I’m no professional, but I’m currently backpacking in Asia, and I’m sending my mirrorless back to the states, along with all its lenses and accessories. It’s just so much crap to carry around. It literally has its own carry on I had to pay for separately for the flight. I’m making do with my Pocket 3 just fine.
I am new to your channel and I only discovered your video while I was looking for a comparison between the DJI and a mirrorless. Your video was superb! Very well explanined with a great balance between the technical and keeping in simple for non-experts. Thank you so much!
The Pocket 3 is such a brilliant camera and for what I do, it does almost everything I need it to do... And for thise moments where the P3 won't do it, I use my mirrorless. I have to admit that I am using my mirrorless a lot less these days and the Pocket 3 a lot more...
I already have a Pocket 3 as an Action 4 (also the Pocket 2 as a backup now) and for me, it's the perfect combination to go lightly and to be ready for quite every situations. I intend to equip myself with a Mini 4 Pro and for a time ahead I'll be ready. A mirrorless camera is great but, first, as you mentioned, it's more pricy and, second, much more heavy to carry around (+ lenses, + gimbal ,etc). Than I don't consider myself to be a professional. I still have many things to learn to match that level. Besides that, I somehow like the limitations of the Pocket 3 and the Action 4: although until now I was uploading mainly walking tours, struggling with these limitations while learning and trying different things for myself to improve my skills, forces me to find more creative solutions. For me, it's a good way to polish the craft. Once I learn how to make good looking shots and videos with these, conceivably getting one day a bigger camera will be a great leap and I will be better prepared for that. You hit the nail on the head. For many a mirrorless or dslr camera does not make sense. It sounds like you got your set up pretty muck locked down, and that is awesome! 👏
I always like my luck number of 3 to reach >90%. 3 different Camera devices, Mirrorless + Osmo Pocket + Mobile phone. In addition to the wide angle of the OSMO, two fixed focal lenses 50mm and 125mm for the Mirrorless. Even my mobile has a normal wide angle camera for photos (lag of OSMO) + night view camera + IR camera.....
The thing is at the rate phones are developing… soon they will have the same quality and lenses as traditional dslr or mirrorless.. But having options is always good!!
Great video! I'm a realtor/self vlogger so Pocket 3's ease of use and low light shooting in properties is amazing. But MY CHALLENGE... the wide angle focal length when self vlogging makes my face look strange and terrible!! 😞 But you looked good when using it. ANY SUGGESTIONS for how to fix this???
Selfie stick! You can outreach further than your arm, it will also feel a lot kore comfortable because depending on the angle you position the P3, you can just hold the stick on your hands in a normal way and the stick does the “outreaching”.
I have reached out to insta360 to collaborate in future product releases. The X3 was out on September 2022, I think there are plenty of videos out. Interesting as it sounds, I also need views on a video to justify the time it takes to make them. Sometimes things donlt work out, it is hard to understand why. But for a product it was released over 2 years ago.... I hope you can understand my reasoning...

Very interesting for addressing the ultimate questions. My final question, how does the 4K footage from the Pocket 3 look on a large screen 4K TV?
As far as the footage I shoot and play on my 65inch Samsung Oled TV, it looks brilliant!

Yes, I do that all the time. I use a lavalier mic plugged to the DJI wireless mic, that links to the P3. Great integration!
