This album is a superb showcase for the virtuosity of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma. In the first volume, the santoor maestro renders raga Antardhwani, a morning melody in the Bhairavi thaat. This raga has been composed by the artiste himself. He plays a gat in madhyalaya followed by a teentala drut. The album ends with raga Basant, a romantic melody evoking spring. Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma renders an alap followed a gat in madhyalaya teentala and a drut in ektala. The second volume begins with raga Durga. He gives the raga a systematic and detailed treatment by playing the alap-jod-jhala. He follows it with three gat. The album concludes with raga Megh. In every piece you will be mesmerised by the sparkling quality of his santoor and his mastery over it.
