Schwalbe's Clik Valve sounds like a nice idea. Especially since you don't need to buy everything new but can just upgrade existing valves and pumps for pretty cheap. Really hope it takes off and frees us from fiddly presta valves.
I wonder if the air retention on clik valve is superior to presta? Nice valves, I damage presta heads semi regularly this might be a nice upgrade for me.
@@___Bebo___ They claim better air retention, but I guess we will have to wait and see. It shouldn't be too hard to design a better standard. The real question is adoption by manufacturers.
Just trying to find/try shoes (and saddles!) that fit/suit is so hit and miss. You either waste money on non suitable items or spend a fortune on 3D printed to match your feet/a$$. The latter is surely the way forward but needs to come down in price.
The most important customization for the shoe is the carbon sole, as the upper has a lot of adjustment. If you just trace your foot, already you'd have a very good representation of the width and length measurement for the sole. Even without custom manufacturing, shoe companies could make HUGE gains to improving cycling shoe fit, by simply allowing customers to choose shoes individually. Most people do have slightly different foot size, so it is valuable to be able to choose a wide right shoe in 43, and a medium width in 42.5, for example. Because they are made serially, there's a huge cost advantage, over single unit manufacturing. If you don't like the fit, just send it back and pay a shipping fee (at dealer or through post). With Boa closures, custom insoles and being able to choose two different shoe sizes, a lot of improvement can be made, without this expensive scanning and 3D printing approach. Most dealers already have several sizes and widths in stock, so they could me making a good sale easily, just by allowing the customer to try two different sizes and then have their pair matched for them.
11:22 I don’t use one for gravel, bc I don’t do that, but I have a camelbak MTB pack that I use for skiing! It has a back protector in it that protects against hits on your back, a 3L water system, and is a 20L pack. Holds everything I need! Lunch, liners, extras. 👏
Definitely more easy to use e-bike (automatique shifting) that will bring more people on bike everyday, and Pinion gear hub on e-road bike for older cyclist.
The value thing is a good idea, because I bend them little screw things and it doesn't allow me to pump the tyre properly, you get a pressure build up, but it doesn't go in the tyre, this looks a better way
Great show, thank you. I hear the Schwalbe valve will not be released to the USA (UK and EU only). Waiting for the Aerothan tire...may just be for hooked rims, works for me.
The change of voice when Alex was talking about shoes and said, "not only to get comfortable on the bike" 😂 Actually so over reading comments being like, "doesn't matter what you look like, doesn't matter if you have the latest and greatest". Like no it doesn't matter to you but for others that is all part of the fun.
Awesome info.. man great to see Haro produce a road bike.. I used to ride Haro Master and Sport back in the 80s and 90s 😊❤ brilliant to see 3T move production to Italy ❤ wow Schwalbes clik valve is cool I definitely want to purchase these .. Pete 🚴🏻😊🚴♀️
Great episode and great to hear 3T and other companies are pulling out of Communist China = better bikes, better quality and safety, and less support for human rights violators and a totalitarian society that ignores and/or covers up environmental issues👍 BTW e-bikes do deserve their own channel; they're distinctly different machines
I have a carbon fibre specialized and the frame looks rubbish, nice to see a bike where you can actually see the carbon fibre weave. Paying that much for shoes is ridiculous
"1 mm precise" LOL - really, who actually believes a rider's foot stays within 1 mm of their pre-ride dimensions over a ride. While such precise construction is practical it's hardly significant wrt fit requirements. There are many advantages to fabricating a cycle shoe with 3D printing. This level of precision isn't one of them!
Here's a question to manufacturers/bike engineers that have intrigued me for quite some time (and eurobike might be a good place to raise that question?): What bike or bicycle product would they build if they wouldn't have to worry about costs (and perhaps regulations). Rationale: When manufacturers develop a product, they balance the costs for development/production/marketing etc. against the estimated revenue and then make a decision. Consequently, we don't get to see products that enrich and enhance our bike riding experience? Do we miss something out?
No, you're not missing out much if anything at all. There are custom and small batch boutique bikes that answer any request. Just gotta google harder. But you are correct, mass produced bikes are designed as most balanced and optimized for sum of all properties. And it goes beyond production and marketing, ensuring the initial purchase, but serviceability and durability (to own extend, of course), ensuring customer satisfaction and brand loyalty, resulting in further purchases. Daayumn it sounds like some marketing pitch😑
There were all kinds of crazy bikes (made by Mr. Colnago himself) prior to the time when UCI allowed it. The UCI rule stipulating that only commercially -available products may be used, aims to promote the bike industry's products, maintain equal opportunities for winning among riders and ensure safety. I think it is a good one, and would even like to see a retro league of bike racing where only metal framed bikes are permitted. It could be a crit or tour that precedes the main race even by a day, or even just a few hours, to keep the crowd entertained.
never had a problem with my valve, but i am always worried about damaging it, since it is pretty fragile. if i could still use the same pump head, i would go all in.. and i only need it 2x and replace them on the inner tubes when changing.
Wheels tend to be the first big upgrade people look at, and it’s easy to see why. They change the look of the bike so substantially. You get a lot of bling for your buck. But shoes should positively take their place. I bet a pretty high percentage of riders have no idea how a good pair of shoes could unlock longer rides and better fitness.
In my experience, cheaper shoes tend to be more comfortable than more expensive, stiffer shoes. But they tend to be ugly and heavy so I don't buy them.
@@mitchellsteindler I had a very different experience. I bought top-of-the-line Shimano shoes and put in G8 adjustable insoles. It’s an amazing combo for me that I can use all day.
@@doublejumpvideogames.... if somebody’s shoes aren’t holding them back, sure. My contention is that more people are held back by their shoes than they realize. If they’re not, then you could be right. But if somebody literally can’t ride more than 30mi because their shoes cause issues they may not even be aware of? No wheel can solve that.
What exactly is the new "Clic" valve? Everyones talking, but we dont know whats inside. Spring loaded? Rubber seal? No ones saying what it actually IS.
Been poping on and off Presta and Schrader for ages. Sure, takes bit practice not to bend Presta in the meeantime, but now that I have this skill, I can pump up tyres everywhere with any pump, not absolutely necessary to carry a proprietary pump.
Merchandise can be shipped over much shorter distances saving lots of money and emissions, meaning products are more ennvironmentally friendly and can be sold at lower prices.
What caught your eye during day two of Eurobike 2024? 👀
Will Alex be there only for the media days or also for the festival days? And great videos!!!
Day two of things not worth checking out in person. Might as well read through a press-release. Waiting for day 3 report.
Schwalbe Aerothane as well as their Clickvalve.

I agree - the Click Valve looks like something worth giving a try. And according to the Schwalbe website, the conversion kit looks reasonably priced.
Finally a foot-shaped shoe, we need more of those.

Yes! Road shoes are historically so narrow
The way 3t handles carbon in Italy is quite different from standard layup designs. Pretty impressive engineering.
Really cool! We actually visited the factory 👉th-cam.com/video/AEPJ78s0kac/w-d-xo.html
I love the 3T manufacturing process using automation. But if I had the funds, I’d still go with Time. The handmade feel is just something else.
Definitely Schwalbe's Clik Valve!
The Clik Valve is the first thing I have seen from any coverage of Eurobike that I immediately want to buy.

That Clik Valve would be oerfect for a TT disc wheel to avoid the faff of holding the adapter on etc etc
Thanks for this tour of the exhibit floor, Alex! Your presentations are on par with Ollie's, except for, you know, his aero agenda. 🤣

Schwalbe Clik Valve seems a great innovation and then you mentioned having to use a pump adaptor
which comes with the kit!!

👍👌
