Pergola House | Home that Seamlessly Blended Indoor and Outdoor Living | Connect with Nature

After a fire destroyed their home, a family sought a fresh start in Costa Rica. They envisioned a home that seamlessly blended indoor and outdoor living, allowing them to connect with nature and enjoy an active lifestyle. Studio Saxe took on the project, designing a home inspired by the Costa Rican landscape.
The key feature is a series of pergolas that blur the lines between inside and outside. These pergolas not only unify the living space with the garden but also provide shade and natural ventilation. The design adapts to the existing trees and topography, with gaps in the roofline to integrate them into the home. Sustainability is a major focus, with solar energy, natural ventilation, and water recycling systems incorporated throughout the design. This home is a testament to resilience and a symbol of the harmonious relationship between architecture and nature.
