Teebs131 You lack basic understanding of French law. It is illegal to denial the Holocaust in France and across Europe. A writer at Hebdo was fired for "anti-Semitic" writing which was light compared to what they write about Islam. France arrests their comedians for what they say. Even taking an inane gesture and Israeli groups turning it into some Nazi salute.
France banned Dieudonné from preforming on multiple occasions due to "anti-semitism" claims. Yet say whatever the fuck you want about any ethic minority or religious group. Just don't touch Zionism or Israel.

***** You are just misinformed. Dieudonné was free to make his show when hatred speech against "people" was removed. You are free to speak against zionism and the jewish religion, not to promote murders against people. And Charlie is free of firing people if they want to. The freedom of speech is State based not company based. If you can't talk about some things at Charlie Hebdo, then move to another company where you can. That is what is called freedom of speech at country-level.
I don't agree with the denial of the Holocaust law too, I think it's a bit unfair to our concept of the freedom of speech, but it's a tragedy still too fresh for us and trauma is still there.

I'm disgusted about what happened to Charlie Hebdo- but what irritate me the most is the irony and the hypocrite people. you ask me how? most people around the world who shouted I'm Charlie and shouted about freedom did it only for attention seeking or living in that moment. why is no one today talk about it or demonstrate about it anymore? if you wanna change the world and fight for the freedom speech. you shouldn't stop demonstrate 1 week after the event. that's what pisses me of.

Swe clasher considering charlie hebdo's offices were burnt down couple of years before, they should have marched in the streets a lot earlier and they might have prevented this tragedy. What's also despicable, is this endless hypocrisy of the majority who only now feels sorry when it's too late and this because they feel the threat coming closer to THEM, since most charlie hebdo cartoonists are dead now, they can no longer be the target or their scapegoat to blame them of being "agitators"; no they might become the next target (that's why only now they "care"). But in the meantime they were dumb enough to help the evil islam grow in power and experience.

I also appreciate that the interviewer let him talk while listening so empathetically. As for the phrase “I am Charlie”, I interpret in terms of identity politics. To assert that you are satire, free speech’s most important test, is to empower the ability of the jester to mock the king in the king’s court. It’s the secular equivalent of religious identity assertions

So we can see clearly here the problem isn’t the cartoons, it’s a much bigger problem with people being murdered, tortured, imprisoned, pushed off buildings and their human rights and freedoms violated. And we are talking whole countries here like Iran, where violence is common place for disobeying rules.
France does not have to obey these rules as it is not under Islamic Law, it is under French Law and French society respects and upholds the freedom of all people. Clearly freedom doesn’t exist or is severely limited in Islamic countries, and that’s what is causing the problem here and creating violence daily across the globe and in every country. But we will never submit to the rules of Islam or any religion. The law is above God, as is personal freedom, and human rights.

If people kill others because of one thing a prophet said, then thats haram. The mere hypocrisy of killing people (wich is terrible), over a few not respecting one part of your religion? Dont you realise violence wont help respecting your religion? And also if something is made into a satire, it means its respected pretty much. Now people are afraid of your own religion meaning they quite literaly 1. respect your religion less, and konsekvuently your people and 2. They will fear you, not respect you. And making it into a big deal is only gonna make more people want to draw it, aka those who have nothing left to loose.

this man is suffering in so many ways, the world is suffering in so many ways, sometimes its really hard to believe such violent acts happend
i really dont want to go and hate on muslims because of all of this, but ive read so much negativity its hard to help such situation
im sorry for being judgemental, but its things like these that make me afraid and anxious when i see people wearing anything that resembles muslim culture or middle east looking people, i will do my best to not be a bad person towards them, but the feeling will forever be there because of such things
why all the hate? why such devotion to a being if its causing such troubles to the world, to their own lives?
