    Your knowledge and skills on fusion are so impressive that I learn new things all the time thanks to you. I took your advanced Compositing course and it is so well worth it. Thanks for putting in all the work and making it so easy to understand and follow. I would gladly recommend your courses to all. Certainly helped me. Thank you.

    Even when going though the basics with you, I always still learn something very usefull 😎 It's amazing to learn how to create stunning effects by using just a few nodes.
    The particles following the polygone 👍

    You can connect 2 (or more) polylines as serial and then the 2nd one adds a new possibility in the inspector where you can set it to subtract mode thus controlling both at once.

    Great overview, thank you! I still can't wrap my head around how the logic of different layers of publishing and connecting between nodes works. But I am getting closer i think. 😋
    I have actually worked with animating an icon along a polyline stroke with the displacement modifier and heading in a few of my videos and it made me almost go crazy. Animations that worked fine the day before suddenly were broken. Something doesn't get saved properly, so the animation is stuck on reloading the project. To fix it I have to go to the displacement modifier of the transform node. On accessing it whatever frame I am on gets added a keyframe automatically and I then have to delete that keyframe for the animation to work again.
    So, if anyone experiences a comparable glitch that is my workaround to be able to render a project successfully.

    Good timing, I was just trying to make a "moving ant line" effect with Mask Paint and this has given me some ideas. I find Mask Paint to be very unstable in the keyframe viewer, I'm wondering if it should just switch over to using the Paint node? I've never really used it, but it seems like it can accomplish the same tasks.

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mask Paint directly creates an alpha mask and can be attached like a polygon tool. As far as I know it works the same otherwise.

    Thank you so much for this detailed tutorial. Many new things for me here. DaVinci capabilities are endless though many functions are somehow hidden like Eastern egg.
    I have one question: When animating polyline Lenght and Position the direction is determined by point order from 1 to i.e. 7. How can I easily reverse the point order to make reversed animation? So far I have to redraw the same shape in opposite direction to achive that. TIA.

    I'm struggling to track the clone brush. I've basically stamped out specific sections of my images (hanging glasses from wire, brushed out the red tape), and I can't figure out how to track the motion of it. Any help would be much appreciated!

    • @VFXstudy

  • @moose304

    You mentioned at the start it was a "review" of the paint tool. Do you have a video that goes more in depth on the basics of the paint tool? I searched your channel for "paint" but was unable to find one. Thanks!

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is one tutorial on paint and track, though that's maybe also not completely from scratch. In addition there are two chapters in my Fusion VFX with DaVinci resolve training course on VFXstudy.com that deal with paint.

    Hallo Bernd, hast Du eine Idee, wie man innerhalb der Paint Node einen Farbverlauf einstellt ? Ich wollte eine geschwungene Linie zeichnen, die aber nicht nur in einer Farbe dargestellt werden soll, sondern in einem Gradient in 4-5 Farben ! Viele Grüße

  • @blakevanier9619
    @blakevanier9619 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! Is it possible to move nodes in a stroke/line so that the line changes shape with key frames? (make a wavy line that gets more wavy) thanks!

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, polygons are animated over time by default. So it's enough to change the shape on another frame. You control it via right click on the text where it says click for shape animation or similar. There you can set or remove kwyframes etc.

    Can anyone help, how can you make the brush size smaller ? The smallest size on the slider is still way to big for my needs

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you click in the field and enter a smaller number? I think the smallest supported brush would have size 0 1🤪

    Hey, I've gone into fusion on my clip and used a background connected into paint into soft glow into merge on my page. I draw what I want to (freeze frame) but it's 47 frames long and it only affects one singular frame, which is of course the one I drew it on, is there any way for me to copy paste it easily to other frames or no?

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Either change the duration of the paint stroke in the modifier or put a time stretcher node after the paint, remove its keyframe and set to the frame on which the paint is.

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can take any channel or luminance and put it into the alpha channel. In addition there are some corrections to manipulate the mask that work similar to a brightness-contrast node. Not much more to it...
