    I wish I saw this video sooner, this explains the little fine details on how to use a clutch. I passed my test a month ago and I still wasn’t certain about clutch in some situations. I always found myself coasting if I had to downshift etc, I was too scared to let go of the clutch. I didn’t in my test, I knew I had to just go for it, I released it slowly but still got a little jolt.

    Hello, in the main streets crowded and everyone goes with third gear, if the car in front slows down, should we press the clutch first then immediately the brake or the brake first then the clutch? (The first mode is much easier for me and then second one is harder. Of course in highways, there is no need for a clutch, but I don't think this true for streets, especially more crowded streets with third gear. What's your idea?)

    So when gearing down can you from 5th or 6th to first if your speed matches or do you need to go through all the gears?

  • @p0p4

    does the brake fight directly against the engine output momentum when you brake without the clutch? it like slows down the cylinders by force, no? does the clutch give away in between the engine and the brakes if it isn't pressed? im confusled. as i understand it, if you brake without the clutch you aren't just braking the tires but also the engine, where as if you use the clutch you are only braking the tires. so wouldn't braking without the clutch be bad for it and or the engine?

    I learnt driving in a gas car and this is exactly how i was controlling it, but when i start driving a diesel car i found out it is different; when i turn without holding the clutch it will either start shaking (if i was 2nd gear and speed is low for it around 18-20 km/h) or it will runaway from you (if i didnt brake), so i either drop down to 1st gear before turning or just turn with holding the clutch to the middle, idk if im actually damaging the engine like this, if there is a problem in my way please let me know thank you

      I think that the prior thing here is to purchase (or hire) a car of your own as soon as possible and practice driving on a regular basis (at least 2-3 times a week). If you don't drive regularly, then no confidence will ever come to you.
      Good luck!

      Hi, may be I can tell my experience. I too passed but in Germany few weeks ago. I bought an old car about 6 years old and started taking short trips'. One advice is get to know a the buttons before. Also what yo do when it is raining and really foggy. Every day I feel like I am learning new things. I park in a big lot, every day different positions forward or reverse or parallel. I feel that I get along with my car a little more than the first days. I am slowly gaining confidence. I took my husband with me in the first 3 days , just to know what yo do in case going up or if unusual situations arise until o know how the things work in my car.

  • @AbidAli-bo8sv
    @AbidAli-bo8sv ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Simple: when you are at speed below 30KM/h, you need to press clutch and theb brake. On higher speed brake first.

      Do I fully press on clutch or gently before brake

    • @Sg6CrossOver
      @Sg6CrossOver 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@halfhead4099 the ideal is brake and than clutch when the car is near full stop, if you're driving on low speed you can clutch than brake, the problem lies on clutching before reducing the engine speed, if for example you want to reduce speed and you just clutch brake and try to change gear your car might stall , maybe damage the engine or gearbox.

      yes, you can, it will help come off the clutch pedal quicker. just don't press gas and take the foot off the clutch pedal right away, build a little speed and than take off the pedal.

    car running under 10kmh press the full clutch and then go for the break pad,
    car running at a high speed lets say at 60kmh or over you can press the break pad slowly to lower the speed and down shift.

    please reply to this comment as ive been having this doubt for past couple of months and no one seems to answer me. im on a road driving in the 2nd gear...as the road approaches the end i come upon a turning which is almost at around 40 degrees ..i press the brake and slows my car down..since the turning is almost a sharp turning im confused whether i should downshift to first gear then proceed or whether i should just press down the clutch so the engine wont stall when i slow down and proceed forward in second gear itself?
