  • Can you confirm thoughtless consciousness without thinking about it? This video discusses exactly how to go about this. When we are approaching awakening we will come to this place of thoughtless (or nearly thoughtless) consciousness. It is without content, clear and self-validating. Pure experience.

    Went from an effortfull watching of the self *visually* , which gives a headache or strain around the eyes, to an effortless _feeling_ of the I. A warmth consumed me and the I and the surrounding feelt like strings of felt sensation.
    Suddenly switching from aware of awareness in a visual sense to a *felt sense* made a huge shift.
    I don't know but there is a sense of peace now.

    Looking into the unknown feels like taking an infinitely long road trip with "baby thought" in the backseat constantly going: "are we there yet? I think we have arrived! Daddy daddy it's right here." Hopefully "baby thought" will take a nape eventually.

    I walk my dog, wash the dishes, balance the checkbook repeating "no ego, no mind" not to repress but to let go of the mind on its wheel of fear, engaged in obsessive rantings, and endless story creation. Sometimes I am in a place of total freedom. At some point, perhaps I won't need this mantra, "no ego, mind" to remind myself to let go and just be.

    I am just at the beginning.
    Isn’t the question “What is this” also a thought?
    When feeling for the thoughtless space, I feel that there are tiny ripples of unseen thoughts down below, not emerging as full thoughts for me to dismiss. I am sure with practice this will settle and I am not too concerned about it.
    The outstanding feeling for me, almost immediately, during practice is an awareness of my entire body and a tingling hum, even sitting here typing this, I can access that hum instantly, strongest in hands and feet.
    Almost like feeling the energy running through my body and nerve endings. It is not unpleasant or distracting, in fact, the opposite.
    I have never meditated or sought awakening before, though my mind has searched for this most of my life.
    Your book is here, so I will continue without haste or pressure, but with some pointers.

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A thought can arise spontaneously that says "what is this?" However if you ask the question direct your attention to this indescribable mystery and don't seek a conceptual answer, it is a catalyst that can be exceptionally powerful. So no need to have analytic follow up thoughts about that being a thought in that moment, just continue to orient to the unknowable sense. That's very good that you have access to such direct experience immediately. You can simply orient to that hum, no need to do anything more if it naturally clarifies.

      Thank you for your reply, time and energy Angelo. It is very much appreciated.
      I am curious. I heard you speaking in one of your early group meditation videos about artwork behind you and were questioned whether it was your own work.
      I am also inclined towards my artistic side and have painted and drawn passionately my whole life (I do not like the self proclaimed “Artist” title).
      I can access this hum through my body immediately, as that is the place I paint and draw from, where I feel, rather than think (I also access this place while washing the car, cutting the grass, riding my motorcycle….).
      I wonder is it the same place you paint from?
      Maybe this is what makes it easier for creatives to wake - I remember you mentioning it in a chat with Zubin.

    Are you to a point to where this thoughtless state is your default mode network or do you have to meditate in the morning or do some kind of ritual each day that puts you there? I’ve always wondered if truly enlightened people had to still intentionally get themselves into this quiet all knowing state each morning or day or does this state eventually just become who you are without having to intentionally “raise your vibration” each morning by meditation.. staring at a candle flame… listening to a window unit… etc

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      No internal or external "world" nor is there a dividing line between inside and outside. It's a free floating non-spatial field of vivid interpenetrating phenomena, self supported, without hinderance or fixation. In "this" anything can appear including thought. There is no sense of agency, so no need to cause anything to happen or clarify. At some point it is a self- perpetuating clarification of infinite dimensional experience, so nothing to wake up or be asleep, nothing that can be hidden or revealed, lost or gained :)

      @@SimplyAlwaysAwake I believe that I experienced this non dual state about 2 weeks ago for about a whole day. It was as if every single sign or phrase or sticker or whatever was in front of me in those moments was literally guiding my whole life experience. Everything I looked at and came across this day just hit me at such a deeper level that I felt for the first time that I was truly being guided by the universe. From commercials on tv, to little safety stickers on my forklift I drive at work, to random emails I would get..everything just seemed so real and vivid and made so much sense that it kinda felt as if I were in a video game and I was choosing moment to moment what reality I wanted to be in.. I got a taste(I think anyway) of actually experiencing what infinite realities is was like and this might sound a little out there but at one point of the night while I was working I was so present and in the moment it was as if I could slow down time with my own mind. I was so in charge of what was going on in my life in those moments that It felt like I could literally manipulate this dimension of space and time to my advantage. I also just intuitively knew exactly what to say to whoever I came across and it felt as if I had all of a sudden had all of the answers to any questions or problems that would pop up in my mind instantly. I believe you may refer to this as just this sense of all knowing?(or something along those lines) Does any of this resonate with you? Is this what it feels like when you get into the deeper stages of realization?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, this is what I would call a pre-taste of awakening. Keep inquiring into the nature of presence, yourself, moment to moment experience and those dimensions of experience will open up in unexpected ways :) Thanks for the comment

    Sometimes you say "don't produce a thought" and sometimes you say just observe the thought (and others also say observe thoughts without judgement, without being identified with it). "Don't produce a thought" is doable (there is no fear) but is that not work? Like I also wrote, paying attention to thoughts if they arise dissipates them. I asked "what does it mean" and you wrote "meaning would be another thought."***
    Maybe this is related or maybe not, but things have gotten more shiny lately (last few weeks). Also my head tingles when I produce no thoughts or just present. (For about 3 weeks I had my head and shoulders convulse when I tried to collapse the distance between awareness and awareness of and in the live session you said I should do it more gently and that seemed to work and that's what went from convulsion to tingling.)
    ***To all this, it's largely quiet but the mind (thought) goes "what does it mean?" or "is this awakening" or "I'm already awake, is the veil dropping?" or something else. Some are very subtle I feel, almost imperceptible but that also is a thought. Mind/thoughts further go: "Maybe the shininess is just you being present more, you just never paid attention since you were lost in thoughts." Or "Maybe the shininess and tingling is due to some medication, or blood sugar level".
    There are still thoughts that "catch me off guard" or where "I lose myself". Mind goes: "maybe there's a transition phase."

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      when I say anything (no matter what it is) , if it stops the mind great... if it leads to analysis just throw it out with the trash and move on :)

  • @Mevlinous
    @Mevlinous 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    A thought seems to be a compressed program to carry out some kind of action based upon judgements or other thoughts. But as you mentioned it’s powerless without awareness, and demands the resource of awareness to carry out its plan or function. But when this happens awareness seems to collapse into the event of thought producing action. That seems to be the point at which the sense of identity is imprinted from that thought.
    What I want to know is, once not duality is realised and that the Illusion of separation is seen through, does that thought then regain its power? Or a thought still seen as thoughts without identity.?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's seen clearly that only a thought can say that a thought causes anything to happen, sort of a self hypnosis. This clearly experienced non-agency is pretty much impossible to imagine (with thought) but once revealed to be the case it is extremely obvious :)

  • @Amaterasu77306
    @Amaterasu77306 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is this the final step? Trying to be as present as possible in this thoughtless state.

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. As I answered to another comment: Great inquiry. Also important that at whatever point one clearly sees / experiences the “answer” to “Who Am I?” They realize it’s important not to use questions to lead yourself back into doubt/into thought. Even if it is thoughtless thought. But rather to lean into vivid experience right now more like “What is this?” The experience itself being the answer. Can you sense this distinction? It becomes irrelevant who or what is making this happen , because happening is making it happen, so just let it overtake you

    Hey I really like your channel, the only thing is: It's kind of hard to follow if you always make small breaks/pauses in your sentences. I don't know if that's intentionally, but if it is, it doesn't produce the desired effect (for me at least).

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not sure if it’s intentional either 😂… but I know why the gaps are there, they are sort of helping the listener to pace out their processing and become aware of the gaps between thoughts, pointing to the non-conceptual. It may be uncomfortable for that exact reason. But I do appreciate the feedback ☺️
