Just go with the easier 2019 chasis, put the cab on it. Then work in the 2020 chasis as your next project. I can't wait to see these project when done. And you're almost there. Come on man.
X200. That 2020 chassis is F'ed up! I saw a bent panhard bar on one of the rear axles, as well as its mount brackets which are welded to the axle tube. I think you'll find that frame to be tweaked in a few different places. Using the 2019 chassis, you will have a working truck much sooner. Plus, a cab might be a little easier to find if you wait to do the 2020 chassis after getting the 2019 chassis up and running.
Go for the 2019 chassis. less work and im already wait literally 2 years for that chassis to roll into the road (salvage title or not). U can do others project on the 2020 chassis.
Hey Rusty! Been watching your videos for the past couple years. Your videos were very helpful in assisting me make my decision of what I wanted to do with my life after getting out of the Army. I decided to get into truck driving and I am now working for ABF freight out of Dallas. If you see any of our trucks while you’re driving through Texas, give us a flash! Might be me 💪🏼
Honestly Rusty, you should put that cab on the 2019 chassis. You have already done all the work, no worries of the frame being twisted and you already did all that work on the front. Just what I would do there buddy! Take care, looking forward to what you decided to do with it.
The 2019 will be the easier option here, since you've already worked on the frame and the engine all is left is putting the cab over, 2020 seems like it needs a little bit of work on the frame. Love your vids and Good luck rusty.
Well, you've got TWO projects now. Do whatever to give you a truck to drive and use, with the second project to keep us entertained, and some money for you from the sale of a fixed truck or as parts to sell. Both you and us have waited a long time for this, you must be chuffed to finally find a cab for your rebuild project.
Something to have in mind, if you put the 2019 motor in the 2020 chassis, is there any EPA upgrades between the year models, and will this cause any dramas. I personally would put the 2020 cab on your 2019 chassis. If the 2020 chassis is straight and good you should get good money for it.
Rusty please finish the 2019 Volvo. When the 2019 rebuild is complete we can all celebrate with you. A part of me believes the driver's wife will finally rest in peace once it's completed and back on the road.
Hey Rusty!!!! I am so happy for you and excited to see what you decide to do!!! FINALLY some progress on the rebuild!!! 🎉😂 Sounds like a lot of work either way 🤷♀️ You have a lot of work on the cab whether you transfer it or not. Then we don’t even know if the frame on the 2020 is gucci or not ... clean title versus salvage title ... 2019 frame ready to go, just needs cab ... I don’t know Rusty, you have set up quite the nail biter here!!! Haha Whatever you do, I’m here for it and can’t wait!!!!! Thank you for sharing these videos with us!!!! Stay safe fam 💞
Always amazing when 2 wreckers work together 👁️👁️ This is going to be a very interesting project 🤗 Having the clean title would be important for resale value 🤔🤔
I like 4 you 2 go a big truck tow trucks rebuilds that would help you out with the on and off loading the big trucks. awesome cant wait 2 see this rebuilds im waiting patiently for the video of the big trucks hopefully 2 see both big trucks rebuilt.
Great vid Rusty... Soo.much to fix do either way... mind boggling... omg... Can't even figure how u do all this stuff... hard enuf for me to pop hood and check my engine oil once in while on 4wheeler... Goodluckkk.
13' 8 would be too high for New Jersey. You would want no more than 13' 2 here. My buddy was transporting a boat and unfortunately there were no signs regarding the height and he hit a bridge. Expensive mistake.
Put the cab on the 2019 u put lots of time into that so it's a no brainer...then u have a chassis for a glider or sell on as a good frame etc as long as it is type thing ...happy motoring..
What's important to you? Would you rather have a clean 2020 title for future resale and a bunch of work / risk or "less" work and risk just finishing the 2019 build? If the clean title is not that important go with the 2019 option.
Excellent ive been waiting so patiently for you to get a cab, im not sure i think if the 2020 frame is good put the engine in and it will also have clear title its a pity you because have put a lot of work into the 2019 model either way you will sort it cant wait to see you start work again my last volvo was a 2001 FH tipper they are so comfy to drive mine was manual i enjoyed driving it volvo is the elite of all trucks in my opinion wishing you well with your rebuild
In Canada its harder to finance and more costly in % of interest to buy a semi with a salvage title. I would swap vin or rebuild the 2020 anyway its gonna be a Frankenstein anyway!
Hi Rusty I would go with the 2019 chassis as it it ready to drive. Why make a lot of work for yourself. Can't wait to see the next video. Keep up the good work. i am a big fan of yours from Dublin Ireland. Give us a shout out my name is Eric Jones, my dad was a truck driver and mechanic.
Put the cab on the 19 frame you still gonna have a 2020 truck pretty much the 2020 cab has a clean title that's what you will be using plus you have already done all that work on the 19 frame it's ready to go
Well the thing you gotta think about is the price of insurance if you put it on the 19. Because its a rebuilt, the insurance cost is always going to be higher on it. As for the 20 frame, I would take it to a shop and see if the frame is good. If it is, then run with it because that clean title goes a long way you'd be stupid not to pursue it
Dude, the frame on the 2020 is bent, and you'd essentially be starting over from scratch with that truck. Swap the cab onto the 2019 frame and find a way to get it legally registered. Sure, it seems like a legal nightmare, but I'd trust the 2019 frame over trying to repair the 2020 frame. Bring both titles to the DMV and explain the situation. Since they're one model year apart, I doubt they'll give you a hard time over it if everything's put back together in stock configuration. You might have to get an inspection done, but that's what you'd have to do with the 2019 chassis anyways.
The DMV will give you a title based on the the frame I believe. the whole reason he's contemplating using the 2020 frame is because its not salvaged and therefore it will be worth a good 10 to 20% more. if he uses the 2019 frame it will be salvaged title and also he needs to do the reconditioning requirements to prove that he rebuilt it correctly. The real question to determine which frame to use how much extra work is it and if there is enough money in it to cover that extra work.
@@MagicBrownMan You bring up some good points, but I'm inclined to assume it'll cost more to straighten and rebuild the 2020 frame, unless he salvages needed parts from the 2019 frame. Salvage title or not, I'd trust the 2019 frame over the 2020 one.
Hi Rusty if you re cab the 2019 then remnants of 2020 straighten chassis later when have time if worth it/increases value?then sell off along with axles get more cash back makes up for difference in value between them is one way. I'd enquire re titles along with work out Values and limitations re clean and rebuilds plus check if drive line and chassis line items are the same? or your going to be whacking the Wallet forever? 2019 is all Gucci and ready to go plus you know the history and maybe other driver might like to know/see/go drive in it?
Pull the cab and put it on the 2019 frame. I would not mess with trying to make the 2019 stuff fit in the 20 when you already have a rolling chassis. Just remove the cab, fix it and mount it on the 2019. Less work and more importantly less headaches and less money.
If your intent is to get the truck on the road and make money, I’d say just fix the cab and put it onto the chassis that you know is good (the 2019). But if you’re wanting to fix it up and just sell it, then I’d assume the clean title truck would sell for more.. but the clean title one would be more work.. the 2019, tho it doesn’t have a clean title, you already know it’s ready to go for a cab.. quicker you can get the truck running safely, the quicker the truck can make money!
I start to watch your videos when you get that Volvo 2019... I am waiting... :) So take a cab from 2020 and put it to 2019, less work. Then when you have a fully working truck you can get back to 2020 and start to work on that then.
To do the extra work to get a 2020 how muck more $$$ is it worth. Does it justify the time and labor. And witch one will take less time to fix the longer it sit the older it get. And you money sitting all tie up. You have to crunch the numbers.
It depends what your end goal is… if your going to flip it for some cash, then fix the 2020…. If your going to use it as a owner operator, then the 2019 would probably be the quicker fix right now, and your money will be made in its use not it flip.
I know nothing about salvage, but from what I see and what I would buy, I'd prefer the clean title and later year truck - unless the laser shows frame damage and then I'd compare the value of a nice 2020 with damaged frame but clean title versus year older vehicle with salvage title but sound frame. Yeah put the cab on the 2019 bro, who cares bout the title lol. If the frame is good on 2019 why repair a damaged frame. And it's only 1 year difference anyway and most trucks came in 2020 had 2019 manufacturing dates anyways. Looking forward for the build. As always deuces ✌
Make sure you stay TUNED! Lots of content coming, REBUILDS! TRUCKING! And more

If you care about resale, definitely the 2020 w/ clean title. If you just want to get rolling in something asap, the '19 w/ salvage title.
That 2020 frame is going to bend agen when u straight that it's easyer to put that cap on that 2019

Check the frame on the 2020 if it's good to go, I would go with the 2020 since it has a clean title.
Yes.i think 🤔if 2019 frame is not damaged change 2020 cab to 2019 just a ide. And I am very exciting to see final truck
Completely agree with current statement!!!!
Good to see you back on the Volvo. I came here back around 8k subs. Ready to see You with You're own rig!
Enjoy seeing you with your dad. Enjoy all those moments. Your dad should be in more videos. He's awesome. Peace my friend.
I wanna see you put all the stuff onto the 2020. It makes the truck worth more after your done (especially b/c it’s clean title)

Fix the 2020 because of a clear title. You have 2 Volvo's. Just look for another cab and find a reconditioned D13 motor for the 19
Put that 2020 on that 19 chasis might be easier.
The cab needs the same work no matter what. Bottom line to me is 2020 with clear title or 2019 with salvage title. I know which clear title I’d take😁😏
Glad you found a cab
2019 is easier to fix and rebuild more than the 2020, you have the chassi and the engine, just but the cab and fire it up...
