Well a new victim is on the road ! Lol . I drove OTR for 40 years and over 4,000,000 miles and retired so all I can say is DONT JUST BE A STEERING WHEEL HOLDER ! Learn the ins and outs about the business ! Learn how to adjust your brakes and do mechanical work on your rig . Be active in the trucking industry. And above all no matter what BE courteous and professional to All on the road and you will have a great career in the industry! I really really miss driving , but it’s time for me to turn over the wheel to someone younger ! Good luck 👍
Retired, from driving after 43 years now living in central FL, near the I-75 chrome shop. enjoy the job
I'm only 14 and I can't wait to do that job
I'm 14 is well and I can't wait to do this job is well 😀
Same but im 13
@@x_shameet_x8340 wow I thought it was just me
Me im 13 in i cant wait until i make my own trucking company
17 I cant wait either this is my dream
Your driving shots are exceptional in all your vlogs. You're talented, man.
My first truck was a 1974 international transtar cabover with a 475 Cummins and a 13spd trans and no power steering, trucking back then was a lot of fun.
I’m only here for the DELETE references 😂 safe trucking boys
You dropped these military vehicles off at Matson terminal pier C. I've worked there many many times. Loading and off loading private vehicles and military vehicles.. going anywhere in the Pacific theatre.
Ur video's are good.
Good luck to you. I encourage people I meet in the oilfield to get their CDL. Once you get it, NEVER let it lapse. Get your physical done every 2 years (passed mine yesterday). It means your partying days are over. It's time to grow up anyway.
Imagine if you were trying to unload & so goober parked in your way. Don't be a jerk & block a loading dock. You're lucky you didn't get towed. Selfish people are ruining it for others.
yep getting cdl for oil field too here.
Good lucking sure you’ll enjoy it,been driving here in the UK for the last twenty years delivering new, used and salvage cars and have loved every minute of it,and would still be doing if Cancer hadn’t stepped in.
Semi trucking looks fun unless it’s just me that likes to travel
lol i seen . you at the truck stop my dad is a truck driver i was the white truck beside you
Foreal? Lol
@@TheRustyCracker Yea i was scared the Fritliner
The cactus you touched is called a Saguaro Cactus. I drove a truck for 35 years. Manly super oversized. Enjoy it for as long as you can.
Great video! Thank you Rusty
I want to get my CDL license after I graduate, I subscribed 👍
That's after you graduate and after your 21st birthday. Check the rules.
I think In Canada its 18 years old age
I did 13 years in the Army and am currently serving in the Army Reserves.
Cool video, but you should always cross your tie downs, that load could slide of that flat bed in a curve real quick ...
The truck you were hauling is Marine Corps (USMC on the door) and I believe its a P-19 4x4 Crash Truck. Used to help with aircraft that crash land. The trailers are your standard HMMWV (Humvee) trailer.
Well hope you got a tool box if so that a wrench and back the brake off
I missed driving around USA road, it is awesome job, good VDO. good jobs, thks.
Yes, I like it,
It feels like I'm apart of the journey with you.
Seeing, and experiencing what you are going though.
Can you share your experiences where do you stop for meals?, take showers?,
do your laundry?
How much are they
paying per mile?
Great content, keep it up 👍
A Marine Fire truck, been awhile since I have seen one. Its used on air fields. You can see the foam nozzle on the front.
that military vehicle is pretty cool!
keep the good work rising bro, but if you can to add the information of the trip like how much kilometres you drove and the money earning
New sub here: checking old vids. Looks good so far.
Big fan sir
Lol, I go through the palm coast weigh station everyday
thanks for the ride
i live in England took my truck test after only 10 hours of lessons.my teacher said he had never seen it before. did not tell him i had been driving trucks since i was 14
12:32 gotta mark that territory 😂
You boys might want to check your DOT manual load securement section, 4 chains and no wheel blocking for a 30;000+ pound vehicle on a step deck? Hope you're not running through NY State, the DOT will have a field day with that.
Thomas Kirk the chains are 20,000 LB Each... we checked it’s fine
@@TheRustyCracker -- Check the load rating on the trailer attachment points, it's very unlikely they're more than 10,000 lb.. You need more pairs on chains.
Not trying to skewer you guys, just pointing out a few things you might want to check. I'm a long time Heavy Haul/Overweight/Oversize guy, I've hauled all sorts of funky loads, and trust me when I say this, the heavier the loads get, you can never have too many chains/straps or whatever, especially something that will roll, like a vehicle or cable reel. That vehicle you have isn't really that heavy, but if I'm carrying it on a step deck, I'm putting 4 more chains pulling in the opposite direction to what you already have. As David Null said, the attachment points are important to check too, as a dedicated heavy haul lowboy trailer will have heavier rated attachment points than a step deck will have, and the load binders need the correct ratings also, or the chain ratings won't even matter. Another idea for anything on wheels is a 4x4 block on either side of the wheels to prevent movement. Also, always check your chains and binders for damage (bent or cracked links, repair links or cracked binders), as a sharp DOT Inspector or State Trooper will catch those things and either put you out of service or make you change the item out. Again, not knocking you guys, just offering some insight to keep you legal and safe, good luck.
those snake's like the heat under the pop machines i noticed once so always keep an eye out there
You guys past right by my house in Barstow. You delivered at the Yermo Annex.
You should put a camera on the rear view mirror, so you can catch all crazy things happening during your long drives
Great Video..
Oh man cdl, well have fun with that. You wont be seeing your family that much anymore then. It sucks, but its trucking life.
Cool video cross country 👍
Good video bro!
Looks easy.... I wanna try
You brother should tech me how to drive the truck. I m here in florida traying to get my CDL permit
I like it. Nice editing.
GO AGDAM yea takes me along time to edit... that’s why I only do 1 video a week but will try to do 2 a week soon
@@TheRustyCracker Thumbs up for your hard work.Im waiting for that Volvo rebuild.Frame looks fine but cab,ehh need new one.
We want some Volvo videos! :D
James Sicat the rebuild videos will be coming up very soon
Cool video man it’s now a year later and you’ve come along way I just seen a video of you a more recent one where you had a rental truck and it was stick and you weren’t comfortable driving I think you should focus on manual transmission and become more well versed man just my own opinion
CAN SOMEONE MAKE A SPECIFIC VIDEO ON THE STEPS OF JUST GETTING YOUR CDL????? No bs just steps plz, love your videos doe 👍 all the way from miami .
Nice video 👍👍
Rookie!
Livin the dream
Stryker's and a Oskosh Striker fire truck. Guess which one.
Part 3 on the semi rebuild please.
mobius378 part 3 is going live tmrw
@@TheRustyCrackerAre you gonna let us know more about the back story. Kinda curious how the wreck happened after seeing the damage. When are you going to take your cdl test? I got my cdl class a last October.
mobius378 yea I will be doing a back story to the wreck soon.
Your so good mate i will love to work with you man
That's fun its like when I first started driving a wrecker with cars allover it. Okay worst are the other drivers on the road. You learn respect about trucks and when you drive a car you drive better around trucks and know how they are going to slow down and how much even up small inclines. Ever have any sway in a semi? Never drove one. Atleast its a nice truck worse is learning how to drive a truck when its a old worn POS.. You will hate it sooner. Yea gotta pull out the fuel nozzle and let that diesel foam out.. hahha
You were suppose to touch the prickly part of the cactus
little man big stick oh I didn’t know that... next time
One bad firefighting apparatus
"we almosted deleted this guy" 😂
Across the country shipments by truck, why can't those shipments be done by freight train?
What you loaded are just regular humvee trailers lol
Just curious how much is your fuel across there,in the UK we are around £1.30 a litre which works out at around $7.98 US Dollars a gallon
around 3.00 per gallon for reg. gas. and 4.00 for Diesel
Hey when you gonna rebuild the Volvo? That's my only reason to live now. Lol
Sasan Dabirian lol Im heading home now and going to try to get her started for you guys. And start taking off cab
Surprised you didn't make that guy an offer on his wrecked car lol
Richard Powell I’ll see it on copart maybe lol
Why on Earth would you park in the wholesome foods loading dock that's easily the best way to piss off the locals and other truck drivers( the guys who have to deliver there)
The Kodiak 77 middle of the city no where to park it’s fine
@@TheRustyCracker name of the song around the 8 min mark?
Great videos bro. What are you using to capture your videos? Dashcam, gopro?
Convert the 2019 to manual it is way funner to drive
Hayden Binkley auto gets better mpg.
@@life-te7to No I have driven both auto and manual trucks if the truck is geared for fuel economy you'll get better mileage. That's the only difference. I get better mileage in a manual.
Hayden Binkley so you have driven 2 identical trucks with the same power train besides the transmission and the manual got better mpg?
@@life-te7to same driveline different bodies I drove a t660 with a auto with the paccar 13 and it got about 7.5mpg on hwy and a t680 with a 10 speed manual and got 7.5-8mpg loaded
Hayden Binkley there are many other variables like weight and road conditions.
Where did u get your trailer from? And how much?
I’d stay away from that swift truck😂😂
Like here from Brasil.
5:55 are you even aloud to record there because last time Ive been on base they real strict about that stuff.
Russian Melnik military reserve is different then military base
Oh got it
i was scared to get out and say Hi till i seen this vid

MIKE .W yea most semi trucks are manual trans
Hi Rusty, how much do you earn per trip? If you don’t mind.
Wanting to start trucking and get my cdl soon, does anybody know some good companies to start with that allows a 60lbs dog after training
Must be expensive to repair semi trailer brakes
Willard A h blacksmith nah not really
I’m from Long Beach
Dawg, watch your mouth about Florida drivers, good video tho. Post more videos of the wrecked Volvo.
Florida Boy I’m from Florida... people from Florida crazy drivers

Can you do more videos about bridges, ports, military bases and other military stuff? Thx.......(Putin V.)
Rude question: how much money did you you make by transporting that Military 'firefither truck'?
Elias Bubbe a lot
It's anywhere from $1.80 to $3 per mile. I haul a Reefer and got a load going home for $2 per mile. Flatbeds make a tad more.
Kingdom of Hush flatbed / stepdeck makes a lot a lot more then refer or dryvan
@@TheRustyCracker national average right now for flatbed rates is about 10 cents more per mile, depending on the spot market.
Not sure if that qualifies as "a lot more." ;)
Kingdom of Hush maybe but good thing you think it’s only .10 more lol
Fort Irwin Ca
I think that’s just a Fire engine
What company do you work for.
I like you video
How can i get a truck driving visa in us iam from india i love driving trucks can any one suggest me plz

#MOROCCO
Long ago a 27 y.o. idiot from my general area of upstate NY traveled to Arizona to visit an idiot friend who lived there. The cactus you touched is a *Saguaro Cactus* , these grow over 40 feet high and usually live over 150 years. These cacti don't bother anyone out in the desert, they just keep growing and often provide comfortable nesting places for birds. One evening in Arizona the two idiots decided to see what fun they could have with cases of beer and 12-gauge shotguns out in the desert.
Of Course they wanted to see what would happen to a saguaro after it was shot with buckshot. A cactus is mostly water held together with tough fibery plant walls, it's easy to shoot through it as these guys found out. After the local idiot shot one saguaro near the base he was surprised there wasn't more resistance. Being a drunk idiot shooting saguaros at night in a desert he didn't think the laws of gravity applied, shooting the cactus destroyed the cactus's upright support, it fell toward the ground ... and crushed and killed the local idiot. That's right, Dead. When I first read this years ago in my local paper I couldn't stop laughing. I guess this cactus had real feelings and wanted to stop this idiot from killing more saguaro. Incident details available on request.
From The New York Times:
"...Last February, 27-year-old David M. Grundman took to the desert near here with a shotgun and two rifles and began blasting away at a 23-foot-tall saguaro cactus. The cactus, mortally wounded by the gunfire, suddenly toppled over on Mr. Grundman, crushing him to death."
