I was on a tour in Ensenada several years ago and one of the people on the tour bus was complaining about how expensive the gift shops were in Mexico. He said that there was no way he was going to pay $62 for a lousy souvenir t-shirt! That person was so embarrassed when it was explained to him that the PESO currency also uses the dollar ($) symbol. The t-shirt was actually $62 Pesos which is only $3 USD.

Hello it’s your Gardena neighbor here. I have a very good tip for you both. Next time you go to Ensenada, take a tour bus to La Bufadora. Not sure if you know about it. It’s a sight where the ocean creates a blow hole when it hits the shore. There is a big flea market there and at the end of the flea market they sell this amazing seafood. It’s known as smoked clams, (in Spanish Almejas Gratinadas con Camarones) it has pico de gallo, cheese and diced shrimp on top. It is out of this world delish!! I still dream about it 6 years later. There are several stands that sell this, but our tour guide recommended the stand at the very end of the market. You would love it!! There is also a very good taco stand at the start of the market as well.

Love seeing you guys back on a cruise! Cruising is my fav (being out on the ocean, relaxing on my balcony, drinks and fun in the casino, watching live music everywhere, etc.), but I hope you two foodies will get to travel on other lines that have better food. ;) I know you take it for what it is, but there really are some excellent restaurants out there on cruise ships. Carnival's new Mardi Gras has some great ones too. Really enjoying this series, thanks for sharing!

What cruise line Carnival ? Wow food looks really mediocre some of the deserts disgusting I thought cruise lines famous for food. Buffet looks like a $12 Hometown Buffet.
I’ve been watching videos about Spain and their churros are so different! (In Spain they are shaped like a loop and dunked in a hot chocolate like pudding! ) Both are probably delicious, because how can you go wrong with fried dough and chocolate!
