With all the amazing this going on in this scene, I think 0:16 gets overlooked. This Aunt May is awesome, still supporting Spider-Man after Peter is gone. She knows Miles is coming back, not because she knows Miles Morales at all.... but because she knows what Spider-Man would do.
But also she's got a good read on him. He's an unsure kid just like Peter once was. But just like his dad saw, there's this amazing spark in him. And that spark is set to ignite into a flame and she's ready when it is. Because he clearly wants to do right by people. He wants to HELP.
You see, to Unstick you gotta relax, and when Miles jumped, the glass broke, showing just about how scared and tense he was, he was flailing as he fell, and when he was jumping from car to car, he threw a web and it failed to stick because he wasn't aiming properly, but he just went with it and took it on like a champ It was a leap of faith
Fun fact: Miles has always been animated in the movie at 12fps when the rest of the movie's characters are at standard 24fps. I just realized something amazing about this scene; think about how the civilians react to this in context of the story. In the span of a few days, Peter Parker dies and he's outed as Spider-Man. Suddenly, one of New York's most faithful, kind, and staunch defenders is gone, and to make matters worse, something's going down near Fisk's building, something that caused a mass power outage and it's got the city phasing in and out of reality. But when New York needs one the most, a new Spider-Man comes out, just as ready to protect the city as the old one. God damn it, this movie is fucking phenomenal.
Another part no one talks about and misses, at 0:12 when miles walks into the spider cave the camera pans up from his sneakers. His sneakers are tied showing that he left his rebellious side behind and his 'trend' to be different has left him as it does for all of us as we mature. Homecoming was a good ass movie but I keep forgetting that's its a spiderman movie instead of a movie about Iron Man giving a kid a high tech suit. Sony hasn't let me down. 10 out of 10. This movie blew me away. The story, the voice acting, the humor and the soundtrack. Also the fact that I got to see the first Puerto Rican superhero in a big budget film was amazing. Miles Morales you are my hero. Sorry Parker.
Agreed. That and Miles wouldn't be half the hero he was without Peter (is this where I mention him being Caucasian?). They played so well off one another, both Peter B. and Miles.
There are so many good things about this scene that everyone talks about, but I haven’t heard anyone bring up just how awesome it is to see Miles’ own comic added to the pile. Just like that, we know he’s truly made it.
I love that be basically created his own new way of web swinging. The Peter Parker Method was all done on the webs barely ever touched down but Miles has some parkour and free running mixed in. It shows both that he's new to swinging and that he's making it his own. Storytelling in motion!
@@Dean-ui5js I like how all of them are quite different in the way they do everything. Gwen is elegant and graceful and she uses that as how she fights and spidermans. Noir fights almost like a boxer, he ducks and weaves and punches. Spider-Ham...needs no explanation. Peni also needs no explanation but this is a girl who will almost always prefer a tech based option over everything else. Peter B as you said is more smooth and probably more efficient, more skilled and his way (minus the quips) comes across as the 'best'. best being a subjective term of course. and Miles his is more jerky, more excited and even how he fights is more fun. He made Doc Ock punch herself, he did the shoulder touch. Where Spiderman always quipped to cover his fear, Miles comes across as a kid on an adrenaline high having the time of his life. its nice how they are all clearly so different but are all Spider-Man
The best part is that the difference is there but it's never viewed as a mistake. Miles isn't trying to be just like Peter, he's trying to be "Spiderman" but there isn't any one way to do that. He is his own man, and even while under the mask, he's still *himself*. Like they said in the movie. Anyone could be under the mask, and there isn't any one "Spiderman".
This is what we call “the hero moment” where a character or characters realize that, yes, they are the heroes that the world needs. Some motive examples are this scene, the scene from the avengers where the group stands side by side against the chitari soldiers with the avengers theme playing, and the train scene from Spider-Man 2.
I love how even after his leap of the building he makes several mistakes, but after a few moves, he masters his own way of swinging based on running. This really shows his determination, he does not even flinch in those moments and concentrates on his technique until he does it perfectly. I swear that this scene gets better with every detail I see.
this scene shows the perfect balance between soundtrack and animation, it's so ... liberating, I do not know, it made me feel alive, it's too beautiful this part of the movie, I had never had a favorite movie in my life, because those days are over. A masterpiece
I could relate to miles so much in this clip. The moment he jumped, for me it meant he was ready to change and wanted to change. When he was in the air and fixed his posture, for me it meant he was ready for the world. When he was swinging around and running, it meant he succeeded. And for some reason, I could feel what he was feeling. A new life, adventure, trill, and determination. He gave hope to the people who saw him jump and swing around. He also showed us everyone can change. I could watch this movie over and over and over and not get tired of it. To be honest, this clip made me cry.
i love this scene. it's absolutely beautiful not only because it shows miles's growth, but it also shows that he isn't just suddenly good at being spiderman. You can see he still isn't used to webslinging from him running along the road, missing his web after jumping over the truck, etc. Yet you know he's growing and that he hit a new point in his life. and that makes you feel proud and happy for him
Can i gush over how much i love this scene right here? The visuals are perfect never in a good couple years have i seen a movie with the amazing colors and scenery that this movie has, the moment when miles kicks off the building and you can see the glass left behind just gave me chills and thats another thing the aesthetic is brilliant this is hands down the best animated spider man movie like. Ever and the greatest thing about this movie is its team without the developers we never would have gotten this
The glass also shows how he isn't calm in the situation they all state they need to be calm to release sticking but this shows the adrenaline kicking in which is Awesome
Surfacekilla 1 little details like those and the fact that when he leaps off of the building he’s nowhere near as graceful as the other Spider-Men show that he hasn’t just randomly mastered all his powers and makes this scene feel so earned I love it
Vocsix Studios that’s the beautiful purpose of this movie it’s to show us that anyone can wear the mask. Anyone can believe their Spider-Man which is why this my favorite movie of all time it really does he theme justice
I love that the scene in 1:28, where the truck crosses his way, resembles the one in Spider-man 2, in which Peter swings between the truck and it cargo. It is like they are relating Morales to Peter and, at the same time, distinguishing them.
The glass breaking when he unsticks his hands from it implies that he was scared and hesitant not just because of jumping from a high place but also of all the unknowns that are slowly appearing in his life seeing as he got a power he did not want but chose to accept it and use it for good, and falling is him deciding to throw away anything that was holding him back, and swinging back up is him truly becoming the Spider-Man, he knew that there's no turning back once he makes this decision. What a way to introduce a hero
Honestly, after watching this film, I find that I couldn't care less about the latest live-action Spiderman movie. This was an unbelievable masterpiece, perfect in every scene and song
I can't believe how much I relate to this feeling, I love Tom Holland but his Spiderman just isn't quite there yet. Honestly, if it means we get these type of quality movies I'm content with leaving Spiderman with Sony, God knows Disney will never produce animations like this
Whenever listening to hip hop or rap i can't help but think wtf kind of weak ass people listen to it. the same Honestly. It's music for pussies. (can't be a coincidence the generation that likes it so much is the same that gets easily offended and needs safe rooms) You shouldn't need music to give you self confidence. The artists are all total losers too. You shouldn't look up to them at all. With the few odd ones out. But you might also notice they aren't the ones that write music for pussies.
@@wylie2835 Okay dude, that argument can be made for ANY genre of music. The fact that you're lumping almost all rap and hip-hop (while I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of either for the most part, personally) into that one category of "for pussies" shows complete arrogance to the fact that every kind of music and/or art is subjective. I could say the exact same thing about rock because I've heard a couple of repetitive rock songs or rock songs that sounded weak. Again, I'm not a huge fan of rap or hip hop, with exceptions, but I can understand why people enjoy it and that, if it's written with purpose and passion, it has relevance. To say this is totally not the case "With the few odd ones out" (as in, songs YOU like) and that everything else is made by losers shows you don't understand the medium.
@GhostFZ 62 Actually, animated fits. Name a great animated movie from them that didn't come from Lord and Miller. Hands down the best scene in the movie. That calm, upside down moment...and that 6 successional side by side zoom in panels of him finally getting control. Total boss scene.
I will always love this scene, and, as you could probably guess, come back to it regularly. There are just so many details in these few minutes, not only with the visual metaphors, but with the music as well. Honestly, I could go on for hours talking about everything that makes this shot amazing, so let me just say, thank you Stan, without you, this masterpiece of cinematography never would have graced our lives, we all miss you, and we all love you.
The reason why the glass shatters is because he's still nervous and is sticking to the glass but he still leaps. One of the directors confirmed this on twitter by retweeting a comment saying it
He is, for sure. It will sound crazy, considering how Miles was just a token black character... but compared to Homecoming, the spiderverse Miles have a personality (finally he earned the suit, not a token anymore). Meanwhile, Homecoming spiderman is iron man jr. It's not horrible, but that's not the spiderman we deserve. A perfect live action peter parker/spidey, we didn't had that yet. Similar to Batman, Spiderman had a great (and "cinematic") adaptation regarding the videogames, Spiderman PS4 is fucking great. Now considering real actors, not that much, they always fell short.
This scene is so beautiful. The glass shards, him rising and not falling, the WOOO vs. the AAAAH in the beginning. Everything about this scene is amazing and makes this movie so much more beautiful than it already is. I still get chills seeing this scene despite all the times I've seen it before
When watching this film in the cinemas, I had a big grin on my face seeing this scene. I love the character development in this movie, and that Miles discovering and achieving his abilities wasn’t just in a 1-2 minute montage but over the whole span of the film. This makes the movie more realistic as people can’t just develop their accomplishments in a montage. Love this film.
I wished, that someday I'm gonna do something so f*cking epic, that I can scream "WOOOOOO" like miles does in this scene, in the rush of adrenaline, feeling like a hero. 🙏 on the other hand... EVERYTHING feels epic, when you listen to this song! 😆
Miles is important because there's not nearly enough biracial representation in media. But to see someone like you, rising to heights you never thought were possible...Miles' story is probably one of the most inspiring embodiments of ascent to greatness we've ever seen in a superhero movie, and that's why it's incredible that multiracial people across the world get to see that in themselves.
As a New Yorker myself I Always wonder how the hell could peter swing around wearing only spandex during a New York winter for the colder months he should be wear causal heavier clothes over his suit
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: Good movie. Quirky like the movie's main character, but that's what makes it so clever. Hotel Transylvania: It's a good movie. Corny, yet manages to keep itself serious. Meatballs 2: Not as good as the first, but still entertaining. Transylvania 2: Better than the first, but still corny and quirky. Emoji Movie: Absolutely disgusting and pointless. Just why? Transylvania 3: Acceptable but I don't forgive Sony. Into The Spider-Verse: BEST. SPIDEY. MOVIE.
In that moment we can see his leap of faith but at the same time we watch Miles rising into a spiderman. Thats the reason why the city is inverted. The moment when the child ascends to a man, a hero, a spiderman.
IMO I believe the movie presented Miles in a way better light, the reason Miles became Spider-Man and the overall beginning in the comics was just.. so boring and not really anything to get me to like Miles, though after watching this amazing movie - which shows Miles’s story in an amazing way - I totally love Miles Morales, and he has become my favourite Spider-Man. Everything from the beginning to end was perfect, story, art, everything. 100/10
0:50 the way the glass breaks, meaning that he had his hands glued tight to it It shows that although he is ready to face his new self, it is a leap of faith after all, and he is scared, but still does it, because he is ready GOD I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND THIS SCENE SO MUCH IT'S MASTERPIECE!!!

10 out of 10. This movie blew me away. The story, the voice acting, the humor and the soundtrack. Also the fact that I got to see the first Puerto Rican superhero in a big budget film was amazing. Miles Morales you are my hero. Sorry Parker.
Nu its 100.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 out of 10
Oh yea forgot Miles spoke to his mom in spanish, thats a really nice touch, it really just shows how much love was given to the source material
Agreed. That and Miles wouldn't be half the hero he was without Peter (is this where I mention him being Caucasian?).
They played so well off one another, both Peter B. and Miles.
@@grimmSOL
He had his powers for two days, dude.
I see Miles and I see my nephew. Half black, half Puerto Rican. He has someone "closer to him" that he can look up to and say... that's me.
There are so many good things about this scene that everyone talks about, but I haven’t heard anyone bring up just how awesome it is to see Miles’ own comic added to the pile. Just like that, we know he’s truly made it.
This is the best movie of the year!!!!!!
Good movie but I think Aquaman is best movie of the year
InfiniteZodiac
Though Aquaman is good, it’s nothing like Into the Spider Verse
InfiniteZodiac aquaman was kinda boring
Infinity war no?? Ok then...
Toph imo this was a bit better than infinity war
I love that be basically created his own new way of web swinging. The Peter Parker Method was all done on the webs barely ever touched down but Miles has some parkour and free running mixed in. It shows both that he's new to swinging and that he's making it his own. Storytelling in motion!
I noticed the exact same thing and I loved this scene even more because of that. ;)
Yup I notice that also. Peter’s style is more smooth and while Miles method is much more chaotic and unpredictable
He even says earlier that he runs better than he swings
I still love the inclusion of Miles' motif throughout the song, showing that he's grown. And the Spider-Hero motif at the very end.
IT AlWAYS FITS, EVENTUALLY.

Best "Becoming a hero"- moment in the history!
This is what we call “the hero moment” where a character or characters realize that, yes, they are the heroes that the world needs. Some motive examples are this scene, the scene from the avengers where the group stands side by side against the chitari soldiers with the avengers theme playing, and the train scene from Spider-Man 2.

I’m wearing a jacket on the bus to school and I still got chills. This is a semi heated bus.
I love how even after his leap of the building he makes several mistakes, but after a few moves, he masters his own way of swinging based on running. This really shows his determination, he does not even flinch in those moments and concentrates on his technique until he does it perfectly. I swear that this scene gets better with every detail I see.
Yes, his Spiderman moves are different from other Spidermen. They are more like parkour which is why I love him so much as spiderman.
this scene shows the perfect balance between soundtrack and animation, it's so ... liberating, I do not know, it made me feel alive, it's too beautiful this part of the movie, I had never had a favorite movie in my life, because those days are over.
Good for you, bub
Anyone can wear the mask. YOU can wear the mask.

Bro... I screenshotted this comment bc it made me love this scene just a LITTLE more than i already did... You hit EVERY nail RIGHT on the head bro!!!
James Miller So am I
i love this scene. it's absolutely beautiful not only because it shows miles's growth, but it also shows that he isn't just suddenly good at being spiderman. You can see he still isn't used to webslinging from him running along the road, missing his web after jumping over the truck, etc. Yet you know he's growing and that he hit a new point in his life. and that makes you feel proud and happy for him
It makes me feel like how my dad felt the first time I gained confidence, asked a girl out, earned money for the date and got my first kiss.
And the upside down shot!
Surfacekilla 1 little details like those and the fact that when he leaps off of the building he’s nowhere near as graceful as the other Spider-Men show that he hasn’t just randomly mastered all his powers and makes this scene feel so earned I love it

Always gives me the chills, such a great movie.

Listen to What's up Danger while working out. Trust me, you'll feel like a god
Wylie28 you ok man?

"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs", I hear you say, and to which I reply "Lord and Miller, bro." Lol Peter in homecoming is basically miles they gave him elements from miles story and just have to Peter even gave miles Best friend to Peter
Percy Turgeon "Smartest man alive"
@Percy Turgeon Whelp, Peter doesn't have Tony to back him up anymore.
Fact!
