Nelson you have the hard part done it is coming along good. When you put the engine in make sure you put new exhaust gaskets on and new bolts you will need to retighten them after you have drove it a little while. They are a pain in the butt lol it is looking good.

Great Video.I bought a 2004 rolling chassis 4wd trying to figure out how to install under a 1980 Stepvan with E 350 chassis with twin I beam. Mine is not going to be a bolt up for sure. If I keep the CL of the 4wd axle centered in the E350 wheel opening, My frame is about 7" short in front, either have to extend the frame to accomidate the front leaf hanger, or get a shorter Leaf spring. Just wondered if you had any advice.Look forward to your future video's for sure
Oh wow, it sounds like you have your plate full for sure!! Man that is gonna be a challenge for sure!! Nothing a hot tip wrench, some fab work and patient won't fix though!! I would for sure suggest getting a shorter leaf spring vs extended the frame. If you are using the 04 springs, they are really long and flat. I'm sure you could find some shorter that would fit your needs, and keep the axle centered. Been YEARS since I attempted anything along those lines, but sounds like you have your plans laid out!! Be interesting to see for sure! I have gotten less fond of wrench turning and opted for the direct bolt interchange over my way 🤦 Although, if you are interested there are a lot more videos on the truck, both good and bad situations since I got it on the road 😁 Thank you my friend for being here, I really appreciate that!! I have wondered about that, same question has came up before. I can't remember if they had a straight axle or still the independent. I think the F350 SRW did for sure. I would think if they had a straight axle it may be pretty easy. I can't see them making it so simple on the 99-04 and not on the OBS ones.. Did you have to change anything on the transmission to convert to 4x4?
Hello friend, well I had a compete donor truck with the 4x4 trans already in it. I swapped the whole drive train over to this one. Although, the only difference in the transmission is the output shaft and tail housing. So had I wanted to use this transmission from the 2 wd, I would have had to have a transmission shop remove the tail housing and output shaft in the trans and install a 4wd. Hope this helps, feel free to email me with any further questions, and I have a video posting tonight on the final result and complete truck.
