Interesting story behind this scene. It seems Nagesh had promised SVR a role in the film where he would be hero. When server sundaram happened SVR reminded him of the promise. Nagesh requested KB who created this scene. When Nagesh informed SVR, he just accepted it and acted without negotiating his remuneration. After the shooting KB asked Nagesh to talk to SVR on the remuneration and inform the production manager to pay the same. When asked about what he wanted, SVR in his inimical style replied, "Athu ellam onnum venampa. Oru bottle whisky mattum vangi kodu, veetule pondatti kasu kodukka mattengra." When his whisky came he drank it right there in the studio before sauntering home in bliss. So all this marvellous performance by SVR was worth, finally, for only a bottle of whiskey.
