The ending sounds rougher than usual if you compared it to the studio version. Mostly because when she recorded the studio version, she got a break between the whistle and the chorus. Unlike the live version when she have to sing in full.

We always play songs on our bus ride home. And today on the bus ( keep in mind I have been trying to the whistle notes for a looong time now) I finally hit the whistles I was so exited!!!
What I love most about her whistles is that she doesn't just hit them and back off like she's out of breath. She hits them many times here and one of the last times she hits the note and draws it out a bit "haha...haha...haha...hahaaaa" like she really draws out that last part. And she's not hoarse when she tries to sing lower notes after going so high. Some singers have no voice after going that high.

Just found you and love your videos! Personally I find that they're live whistle notes. She may have had some help but if you watch her throat when she does it. Its so damn hard to fake those muscle moving when you aren't actually singing. Girl can do them either way. So what if she did need some help ya know? You can tell she just wasn't in her element that performance it actually sounded like she was gonna cry a couple times. And we can't blame her with the bombing that happened, pete, and mac dying its been so tough. She doesn't seem well and that's completely okay because she's human just like the rest of us. Just because she has a beautiful voice and well known for it, doesn't mean she isn't going to have problems on stage. Brendon Urie is the same way. He'll go on and perform unless he completely loses his voice. They're real with their fans and music, and that is what is lacking in a lot of newer music.

Just thinking back to this, and yeah, top note on a full size piano is C8. Mariah has actually hit one note/semi tone below this, B♭7, which she did live. Ariana hits a C7 here (?) - whether pre recorded or live - which is a while octave below top.

I can never make out what she is singing in most of her songs, live or recorded, and I think she sings in a very lazy way. I was curious to know what you think of her diction when she sings, because that is an important part of singing too, correct?
She might have sung the last note on the keyboard but not the piano. When I sung the part it felt like a C7, not a C8. I'm 70% sure the note is a C, but I know it was in the upper 6th or lower 7th octave. Also her performance felt a little off as her placement was a little different and during the whistle notes she seemed too tense. It could be because she wasn't feeling well or she was nervous singing this live for the first time.

I am glad you all fancy yourselves as, "EXPERTS" .Truth is: oftentimes whistle notes are vocal " tricks" and I know what...THOSE tricks are. REAL SINGING REQUIRES PHYSICAL SUPPORT AND ATHLETIC ENDEAVOUR- a true blend of head voice, passagio, open throat technique, chest voice , head resonance( mask) and belt.. not just breathy.. nasal sounds. SLATHER ON THE BACKLASH , I CAN TAKE IT. Thank You ....and Good Night .lol

Just found you and love your videos! Personally I find that they're live whistle notes. She may have had some help but if you watch her throat when she does it. Its so damn hard to fake those muscle moving when you aren't actually singing. Girl can do them either way. So what if she did need some help ya know? You can tell she just wasn't in her element that performance it actually sounded like she was gonna cry a couple times. And we can't blame her with the bombing that happened, pete, and mac dying its been so tough. She doesn't seem well and that's completely okay because she's human just like the rest of us. Just because she has a beautiful voice and well known for it, doesn't mean she isn't going to have problems on stage. Brendon Urie is the same way. He'll go on and perform unless he completely loses his voice. They're real with their fans and music, and that is what is lacking in a lot of newer music.

I'm confused by the comment about being able to hear the note (I've heard higher whistles; and live - I think these are playback - mouth hidden though). And also it being the top note of a keyboard - musn't be a full sized keyboard - she hits like a C7, no? Top of a piano keyboard = C8?
Just thinking back to this, and yeah, top note on a full size piano is C8. Mariah has actually hit one note/semi tone below this, B♭7, which she did live. Ariana hits a C7 here (?) - whether pre recorded or live - which is a while octave below top.

@@HonestVocalCoach I’m a big fan of Mariah & Ariana but what I love about Ariana is that she rarely sings that high whistle note, so it's always a surprise when she does. Less is more 😀
Even tho she killed it of course by being able to do whistles at all live, they were definitely not perfect, they did not sound exactly like the audio version. Which is why it’s easy to determine that they’re indeed live.

Georgina, I know she can hit those whistle notes, but could you comment on her diction? I can never make out what she is singing in most of her songs, live or recorded, and I think she sings in a very lazy way. I was curious to know what you think of her diction when she sings, because that is an important part of singing too, correct?
I think her whistles are live - I have no doubt. But I think Mariah’s whistles sound nicer and smoother but Ariana did a good job!
She might have sung the last note on the keyboard but not the piano. When I sung the part it felt like a C7, not a C8. I'm 70% sure the note is a C, but I know it was in the upper 6th or lower 7th octave. Also her performance felt a little off as her placement was a little different and during the whistle notes she seemed too tense. It could be because she wasn't feeling well or she was nervous singing this live for the first time.
