I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!
In 2008 I wrote the Vocaltutor Guide, 21 set lessons for singing teachers to get started, learning to teach, and produced 3 vocal exercise CD/Downloads.

@@haroldoduarte1393 she'd never take Britney's crown. Britney has sold 200,000,000 records and is better than Gaga. Gaga literally relied on over the top costumes and style to be popular. If she didn't dress like a freak she wouldn't be as famous. Britney was famous because of her dancing mainly.

On stamina : in a Superbowl interview she said singers/dancers train the same as athletes...she sings the ENTIRE show while on elliptical. Gaga does not play !
She really doesn't play.
She puts EVERYTHING into her performances, and if she ever has an off day, she shakes it off and carries on.
She's had classical training and it shows.
She has had training, not classical training. Not all training is classical training, contrary to what the internet seems to believe.
And also she was born with talent and it shows we can see who was born with talent and those who’re trained to sing well

I've seen Lady Gaga live. She is utterly phenomenal.
For me she has the absolute BEST voice. Her vibrato is EXCELLENT and if you give her a song, she can sing that song in so many different ways. The overall sound of her voice is just perfect and can be lovely, powerful, theatrical, raspy, operetic etc she can pretty much sing every genre out there

I love that you point out that dancing is not an excuse for not singing live!! I would just add that in addition to stamina, it's also about choosing choreography that makes sense for the song.

I’ve seen her 4 times (not that it’s a competition) - and every single time it was different and electric and almost a religious experience. At no time in my life, in no place on Earth have I ever felt safer or more loved than when surrounded by my fellow Little Monsters and Mother.

I've seen her 4 times. The Fame Monster Ball, the Born This Way Ball, Joanne Ball, and with Tony Bennett for the Cheek to Cheek Tour. She is an incredible performer. However, for vocals the C2C tour was everything. Simply stunning.

She is such a versatile singer. Perhaps the best of our generation. I loved her since day 1. My gay heart jumps everytime I hear her sing.
I love the passion she puts into everything she believes in, you can tell she writes her music based on her current emotions which make the performances even more impressive and immersive, a very talented artist indeed

I would say Mariah Carey . Because Mariah also a gift Vocalist , songwriter. She also produce her own melody and direct her music video . She also change the music industry with the the collaboration between pop artist and hip hop/rap artist .

She is frickin’ amazing, the best all round singer and performer of the past 20 years.
you could see she had star quality before she was famous when she was in that candid camera type show called boiling point.
Before embarking on her music career, she also did burlesque type shows, where she was singing while dancing on a regular basis. Plenty of practice for live shows....
I saw her live back in 2010 (maybe?) and she really gives it all on stage! She's so much fun to watch because of her many styles and outfits over the years. She does her thing and is not afraid of coming off as a little wierd or out there. Such an entertainer! Her vocals has improved over the years too.
She's a true musician but she's also proven to have many other talents.

And she suffers from fibromyalgia. She is amazing. Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition. With all sorts of nasty things to deal with. Like chronic fatigue.

Gaga is phenomenal! I fell in love with her with the song Poker face. I remember singing that song at school along with classmates when I was a kid. They were surprised 😃
I love her voice and versatility although I prefer her dance/electronic albums. I think that Gaga is the most versatile artist of this generation along with Beyoncé.

You have such a good point, Lady Gaga can dance around on stage and she still knows how to use her voice just right under the conditions of being physically active on stage and it's awesome, just goes to show you the range she has and what experience and tranning can do for your vocals. I mean just look at her halftime show performance, she proved her spot in music and moved all around the stage and more and still pulled off an incredible performance singing live and dancing the way she does. She's so brilliant and majorly talented, I love her so much. I watched her My Name Is Lady Gaga documentary on TH-cam about her journey from where she started to where she is now and it was absolutely amazing! She's an incredible artist and the success shes had in the music industry is well earned. It's no wonder why she has had the longevity she's had in the business. She deserves it! 💜

you mentioned the distortion in her voice, i really dont think its a flaw at all. she puts that in as a style element every now and then on total purpose. i consider her as that kind of a great singer who plays along the different shades of her voice.
she obviously doesnt go for a "pretty" and "perfect" vocal everytime, she goes very willing into the "interessting" element quite a lot.

For "Shallow," I don't know why they switched over to the Oscars performance when the Grammy performance was vocally a million times better. She nailed that entire section in the Grammy performance, even while moving around.
