Welcome to our latest TH-cam video episode where we dive into the world of candy paint! In this tutorial, I walk you through the unique qualities of transparent candy paint that create a stunning, glowing effect by allowing metallic sparkles to shine through the paint job.
I demonstrate the step-by-step process of mixing candy paint with clear base coat and thinning it out with urethane reducer to achieve a smooth, sprayable consistency. Additionally, I compare candy paint to a pigmented powder from LiME LiNE, showcasing the distinct differences between the two finishes.
Learn how you can mix the three primary colors to create vibrant shades like purple, green, and orange, or experiment with layering one tint over another for a custom look. Let me start with I agree with everything you said on this video Adam. However I have to argue that the candy concentrates are not just for use over a reflective base. I have had major success using the Lime Line concentrates over pastel colors to create depth on my art work especially when doing realistic flames. I have also used them to create pastel colors. In my opinion candy concentrates have a wide range of use. Probably some we haven’t even found or figured out yet! Great product! Lime Line is my go to supplier these days. My local jobber is not happy about it….lol
Yes, you are correct!! The sky is the limit for what can be created. Mixing candy into white base can some really different awesome colors. Thanks for sharing and appreciate your support ✌️✌️
PERSONALLY I USE CUSTOM PAINTS AS MY SUPPLIER AND DIDPSADE FOR INTEREFERENCE PAINTS, THOUGH I HAVE FOUND SOME OTHER SUPPLIERS IN THE EU THAT ARE FAR FAR CHEAPER AND WITH THE SAME GREAT HIGH QUALITY. Downside is shipping cost and time but if I am planning it out a week delay is not that much of a PIA. And I advise the client of the delay and cost savings, seems they are ok with it if it saves em some $$$$
Wow! You're firing these videos off this week. Thank you
🏋️♂️🏋️♂️😅
Thank you, for simple explanations. Just painting lil stuff. Wheelchair frames and golf carts.

Thanks for the good content. Excellent demonstration. I used to spray PPG and used 3M for all my shop products. You channel brings me back into the shop, I really miss it. Lime line looks like they make some pretty good stuff. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you!
❤
Good job explaining ! I would only add that, the size of a job is also important i would go with more base or mid-coat candy mix on bigger jobs rather than using concentrates and that there is true candies and so called factory candies. Which is widely advertised as quote " candy "
Yes, correct thanks for your reply
Factories also have a 4 stage. On the tri coats. Some are definitely a *candy*. At least with my mixing bank.
@beardenjason2926 I bet HOK would beg to differ and so would I but hey as long as you know as a painter then it really doesn't matter
@@rtkl13 I'm sorry. What do you mean HOK would think different? Their dye is basically sprayed as a 2k clear. When concentrates are used. I add them to my 2k clear. What's the difference? I genuinely want to know.
@beardenjason2926 if your tinting clear with concentrates then yes you are correct. I was referring to factory tri-coats and 4s. Where the you have more transparent bases overlaying with other tinted clears and pearls
Good job Brother
Thanks swamp
Also I found that using gold candy over a green candy makes your project look like it glows and it’s been dipped in some kind of toxic nuclear waste or something…lol
yes!!! one of my favorite combos!! Thanks for sharing ✌️
My man, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE your video's. I find out just where i screwed the pooch and say dayum, do it again knucklehead..............sigh.
Can you ship them to Australia?
Looking for distribution

lol 😂
Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but do you supply to Canada?
I've been away from proper painting about 40 years, what's the difference between "intercoat" and regular clear? Thanks, I've watched a few of your videos so far.
There’s no difference between clear basecoat and Interco clear they are the same. Sometimes they even called binder. Now regular clearcoat is different. It’s a two-part made to chemically harden and resist chemicals such as gasoline and has a UV inhibitor in them.
In addition to that answer, intercoat is typically used if the time to next coat will be outside of the window to continue. Same thing if one has to be interrupted on a paint job and intercoat clear makes it easier to continue progress. There are some downsides to it though. If you are using it to apply flake, sometimes ya get hard flake edges that protrude and sanding may actually wreck the process (or effect). By applying a clearcoat it builds up better (or applying the flake with a heavier clearcoat) and the edge problem is alleviated.
@@TimeWarpCustomPaint Gr8 answer......Thanks for that.
@@anonimous2451 Thanks!
@@TimeWarpCustomPaint Thanks!
Does lime line do a black candy?
I know i could look it up, but well im here now
lol. let me help ya out!! a.co/d/hNLao0x
Too freakin funny man. I made a mistake by not diluting candy black in clearcoat and it obliterated my gold flake..............sigh. re-applied flake and continued, lesson learned. I actually came here to see WHAT TF my mistake was and FAFO..............Thanks Adam.
Candy looks better than pigment
Agreed 👍
It is SUPPOSED TO....................too funny. 🤣😂😅😇
